Sidelines is a good, local bar with a relaxed vibe. We stopped in for the lent menu and enjoyed mussels in Yuengling sauce, breaded shrimp, and a huge Lake Erie monster sandwich. Food was solid and drinks were well priced. The mussels came in a Yuengling pitcher which was a cute touch but did make it a bit difficult to fish the mussels out. read more

Saw a review by a local wing guy...wings were meh. Got the garlic teriyaki and had no flavor. Maybe other sauces are the way to go. These were just disappointing. Tried a patty melt too. Fresh fries were really good that came with it. The patty melt was decent. Better once I requested thousand island dressing to dip it in. Decent crowd for the Ohio State game. We sat at the bar with two giant jars of pickles in front of us, right on the bar top. Not appealing as one looked like a science experiment...maybe pickles with hot sauce? Parking lot desperately needs repairs - tons of potholes. We pretty much ate, drank a few beers and a pop...and quickly left. read more

I frequent the local spots because i would rather support them. I stopped up here on a Saturday night. They were not that busy. Maybe 8 people at the bar (including me) and two tables of 4. I ordered a drink and a Philly cheesesteak. I asked for a side of mayonnaise. When the food came out the bartender did not deliver it was the cook/runner from the kitchen. Just dropped a t and left. No side of mayo. So as the bartender walked past me 5 times to tend to the regulars and drink shots with the people at the tables. I could not get her attention. After multiple tries one of the regulars said to her when she asked them if they needed anything to take care of me first because I've been waiting. read more

We honestly love this place. Food and prices have always been consistent which is rare in today's economy. The bartenders are all very friendly and do a great job manning the bar and tables. We usually stop here as a family for lunch/dinner (2 kiddos -5 and 7) to catch all sports games or a good bite to eat. I highly recommend giving them a try! The food: I can't say enough about their food. Yes, it's a dive bar with traditional bar food but as I stated above it's always consistent! The giant pretzel is a go to app for us.. and the wings are by far our favorite (dare I say THE best in the area)! They have a ton of house made wing sauces, the price is something to rival knowing other locations are about $20 a dozen and they have always been consistent in size, quality, and price. The pizza is homemade as are their burgers- both fantastic and another great option. We have yet to try something we don't like, but I usually won't stray from the wings because they are that good. Atmosphere and staff: We love catching Tonya or Donna when they are working. Both are great at their jobs- friendly, efficient and kind. In fact, all their staff has been great. Good food, great pours .. how can you go wrong? The bar is a huge rectangle bar located in the center of the restaurant. High tops surround the bar on the outskirts. They have keno, lotto, pull tabs, golf simulator, and shuffleboard. Tons of TVs to catch your favorite game and a great sound system when the music is going. Overall, I give them a 10/10. The moral of the review: stop in and give this place a whirl. Looks can be deceiving but if you love a good, family ran dive bar then look no further! read more

This place is such a great hole-in-the-wall sports bar. Nothing fancy, but good food, reasonable beer and lots of TV's. I personally think their wings are the best around, my wife absolutely loves their Blue Cheese. It's one of those places where you can enjoy a casual night with friends without breaking the bank. read more

Best wings around. But how long is too long to wait for them? Good luck with the service, it can be hit or miss. Sitting at the bar is usually helpful in these cases. But I've had a few instances here where it just doesn't matter. You'll notice I haven't sworn the place off yet though. Even after the one day where the bartender skipped every song I played on the jukebox. She must have been unaware of the My Touchtunes app. She thought the thing was just playing those songs on it's own, and she wanted to hear her songs, so she just skipped right past. (I ended up getting my money back.) Despite slow service, I continue to go back. This place has the bar food you are craving. read more

I've reviewed before because of how much I love this place but I'm doing it again because I was here this past Sunday for the Browns game with a few friends. I've never gone to a bar for a sporting event with intentions to watch the game and for a first time doing so this was incredible. I brought my best friend who I haven't seen in 5 years to this location and we had a blast, the entire time I kept saying "this place is seriously the f***ing best". I arrived about a half hour before my buddies did and while I was waiting for them I was served very quickly and all I got was a drink, as they started getting busy and time was going by the lovely bartender came over with a new drink right before I finished the first one (it was root beer, nothing alcoholic yet) and she did so even at the point they were the most busy while we were there 3 more times until I ordered a different drink. Food came out faster than it has in the past which I assumed was due to them expecting high volume on game day but regardless it was my first time being back since before COVID hit and I was blown away, I have no problem waiting for my food at all, especially at a place like this on a day like that but it was quick for anyone who is a hardass about how long the kitchen takes. We were there roughly 4 hours and not at any point was I unhappy unless the browns didn't score . The service was fantastic the food and drink was fantastic and the atmosphere and friendliness that the staff gives off creating such a welcoming environment is and was undeniably fantastic. I wish I had pictures to add of the time we had because it will be without a doubt be a day I won't forget for a long time. Have you been there? Wife and I were looking for a little food and drink one Saturday evening and drove past this place. Looked inviting with the patio out front and plenty of parking around back. Sports oriented themed bar, plenty of tables around for those who don't wish to belly up. Food was decent, typical bar style stuff, burgers and fries. Kid friendly, oddly enough, apparently kid focused with a free meal to those wearing a uniform? Hm, I dig that. The time we went, wasn't that busy but they had a downstairs that I think you can rent. Kid-friendly sports bar? Kind of a dive. The food is not bad for a dive bar. Cheap beer. The family owned bar is a big local supporter of youth sports. Also has a free party room for fundraisers and parties. I'll support this place because it's locally owned, not because it's great. Hopefully they'll improve along the way. read more

I came here with my husband to watch the OSU game... we were looking to try someplace new and different. Cigarette smoke is something that both of us will cross the street to avoid, so we had some reservations about the place right off the bat when we had to walk through the haze of smoke from the smoker's patio to get to the front door. Because the patio is so close to the front door, every time someone opens it when you're sitting at the bar you get to enjoy all of that smoke again. There was also a door in the back of the bar area and a few other people kept going out there to smoke as well. That door was just open so it smelled like an ash tray pretty much the entire time we were there. Beer selection isn't great. It's a dive bar, so you're not going for the ambiance, either. So maybe it's one of those cool local bars that just has its own thing going on and that's why anyone would bother going here? I'm not sure. Maybe. It certainly didn't give that vibe the night we were there. There is this episode of the Simpson's in which Homer decides to give up drinking for a month. At the end of the month he triumphantly returns to Moe's to celebrate his abstinence, and as he looks around with sober eyes he realizes that everyone sitting around the bar is semi-drunk and depressed, and the whole place is just shabby and depressing. It is entirely possible that Sidelines was the template for this episode. They do have really great TVs, though. read more

The bartenders where awesome. However, the cook, who should stay at back of house, came out screaming because he didn't think there was enough room for food runners to deliver food to the bar. Here's the thing, the bar was super busy. There wasn't anywhere else to stand. He is a cook and has no business trying to manage the customer flow in the bar. Also, he looked extremely unclean, he had a huge beard and no hair net. After seeing him in the kitchen and the bad experience I canceled my food order. Sad, because it could be a good place. However, service staff needs to remember that without customers they wouldn't have service jobs. read more

Stopped by here on our way back from Cleveland to Cincinnati. Friend said the cheesesteak was the best he'd ever had, even better than Penn Station, despite not having green peppers. Pizza was good, just needs a hint of more sauce, but I understand if people complained about too much sauce before. Friendly bartenders. Would stop by here again. read more

I went here for the first time to watch an NFL playoff game with 2 friends. Including the 3 of us, there was a total of about 8-10 people in the bar with one bartender and a cook. Most people appeared to be regulars. Being a craft beer fan, I was horribly disappointed in the beer selection. The extent of their 'craft beer' selection was Great Lakes Xmas Ale and Thirsty Dog 12 Dogs of Xmas. I went with a dfraft 12 Dogs, and I can honestly say I have never had a WORSE beer in my life. This was not the beer's fault. I am not convinced they have ever cleaned the lines in their tap system. For one thing, it was nearly flat, and for another, it had the skunkiest, stale flavor to it. I couldn't even make it through the full beer and sent it back at half full. I was forced to either drop down to the ever-flowing Coors light or water. The 3 of us ordered our food at the same time. Nachos for appetizers, some wings, a sandwich and a burger. After 25 minutes, the nachos came out looking like something my 3 year old could make. It was a plate of Tostitos Chips, a cup of cheese and a cup of jalepenos... not even mixed together! 20 minutes later, the bartender brought the sandwich and the wings out together (minus the ranch that was asked for) and said my burger would be right out. 10 minutes later I made a comment to a buddy (which clearly the bartender overheard) about how long it takes to cook a burger. She came over and confessed that the cook forgot to put the burger on, but it should be right up in a few minutes. 10 minutes later she overheard another comment from me saying I hope something gets taken off my bill, and told me she'd buy me a Coors Light. I told her she could take the 12 Dogs off my bill if she was going to do anything like that since it was incredibly awful. I WILL NOT go back here. Which is a shame because the food wasn't too bad (for being bar food) and it's right near my house. I'd rather go nearly anywhere else to watch a game. read more

Visited for the first time yesterday for lunch. Kinda dark inside after being in the sun but my eyes adjusted. Decent menu... Lots of choices. I ordered the fried chicken wrap. It was probably one of the freshest wraps I have ever had. Yum! Not being a beer lover, I ordered a shot of SoCo and it seemed kinda short to me compared to other places I've been. I intended to write a great review of Sidelines, as I really enjoyed myself there. A group of us went to watch the Cavs game. The service was great, and their Thursday special $6 burger was one of the best I've had anywhere. However, the draft Blue Moons that I had both tasted slightly sour and the the glass of water was really bad tasting. By 2:00 a.m. I was totally sick to my stomach. this place has changed hands a few times since we've lived in brunswick, never had a good experience so we thought we would give it another shot, huge mistake. They were not busy at all, it was an early thurs. evening. Menu is standard bar food, all we wanted was a burger and a salad so that seemed ok. The burger was overly seasoned, the buffalo chicken salad came with iceberg lettuce but the menu listed romaine, when I asked the waitress about this she talked to the cook who said it was romaine- I KNOW the difference between the two, at that point just say they were out of romaine, don't lie. We had to get up from our table and go to the bar twice to ask for things, waitress pretty much ignored us. There are too many choices for dining out, we will never go back. read more

We have been in Brunswick for 7 years. Tried this place shortly after we moved here and ended up walking out without ever being waited on. Then found out the place changed hands and gave it another try. Went twice with no incident. Food was decent . Stopped in on Friday 7/19/13 and the place was not really that busy. Sat there for 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging us or coming over. Others came in after us and I guess they were regulars because they were greeted and severed a drink. I have worked in customer service and I was a server in my younger days. I am astounded by the way we were treated. It is one thing if you are absolutely slammed and you see the servers are busy, but they were busy chatting with the regulars at the bar and looking at pictures on their cell phones. The food isn't much of a loss. Yes, they won best wing award, but not worth being treated like dirt. read more

We go there often...food is amazing...quaint little sports bar, nothing fancy but we have never had bad food. Service could be a little quicker when busy but their food is well worth the wait.
