I have been screwed over by the manager legitimately every single semester I needed to buy any textbook or packet. I would've stopped shopping for my supplies here after the second time something messed up has happened, but I don't like online shopping. I'm going to consider it for the last few semesters I have left. Love the cashiers, hate the manager. There are never enough lab manuals ordered on time. this happens every semester and it's extremely frustrating when classes start and you are missing points on something that should be available on the first day. they should AT LEAST have the amount in stock for everyone that's registered and possibly extra for waitlist students. it makes no sense! not to mention everything in that store is pricey! don't order your textbooks from here. read more

Highly recommend amazon for books, atleast they give you free shipping and some purchases are tax free. I purchased a text book with a code for psychology (used book) for $121, 2 days later, they send the book out and charge me $161.56. I email them asking why I'm $40 more than the original invoice and 2 days later, they email back saying they could not find a used book and decided to send me a new one without asking me if I wanted it before sending. I ask if I could refuse the package and send it back for the full refund, they said yes, full refund. I send it back and instead of getting the full refund, they only give back 154.06...another email, they say it's for the book and taxes only, they keep the shipping... I know for a fact that Amazon does the full refund with shipping on top...do not buy from the Sierra college book store, my recommendation is to go for Amazon, atleast they know what they are doing... read more

Staff if alright. Overpriced products just like any college bookstore. The manager's stress and displeasure shows all over her face, but she is helpful nonetheless. Doors were shut on someone 2 minutes before closing. I have worked in retail and I have worked in restaurants, and I know employees want to leave as soon as possible, but you still are running a business, and your posted business hours still apply. She wasn't rude about it, she was actually nice, and I felt bad for her, so we opened the door so she could get her scantrons within business hours. read more

The bookstore has so many great things for school but everything is really expensive unfortunately! You would think us being college students they would have reasonable prices. The lines do move pretty fast in there and the staff is always friendly. I have gotten a few things from here and yes I did spend a lot but they are all in good quality. read more

If there was an option to select zero stars, that would've been my choice. This is the most poorly managed bookstore I have ever experienced. They charged my girlfriend for her textbooks once, lost the shipment, and refunded her money. She goes in again to pick them up in person. Customer service does not inform her that they already charged her, and then the cashiers charged her again AFTER LOOKING AT THE INVOICE FROM THE "CUSTOMER SERVICE" DEPARTMENT. Now they are refusing to refund the double charge and claiming that they have no way to view an itemized list of what was purchased in order to see if the same books were bought twice. Even if you have to pay double what the book costs at Sierra College Bookstore just to purchase it from another company (which you will probably not have to do because the Sierra College Bookstore has the most inflated prices I have been able to find), please save yourself the headache and buy from a store that has at least half a clue what they are doing. Could all this trouble be because the Sierra College Bookstore is actually ran by Barnes and Noble? read more

Not to fault the bookstore, they didn't do this, but they are party to it--Pearson Publishing is an American company and in its enlightened self-interest, would not short-change customers. Not like some shady third-world business that would sell you children's toys painted with lead-based paint or dog food that will kill your dog . . . but this reviewer digresses . . . Pearson sells a book made for "sight singing" for which one can obtain an online assistant for study and practice. It is priced in the mid-fifty-dollar range. Well and good until the registered user looks into the music lab, a "rhythm generator." There are programs for half the price, and even free, that have far more than the "click-a-button-to-to-get-a-nearly-identical-drill." The chapters covered are: 1, 4, 10, 15, 16 and 17. Pearson might argue that this is not short-changing a customer; matter of opinion, in this reviewer's opinion it is. read more
