My puppy son, BearDog, has been attending weekly Sierra Dog Ventures for three years. I am so very glad I found Christi and Duncan. We go up to Mammoth a couple times a year, and often we have had to split our time between going skiing and taking my dog Pax on a hike/adventure. This time, we got to do both! Pax got to have an incredible adventure with other pup friends while we hit the slopes. We absolutely love Christi and Duncan and their Sierra Dog Venture business. When we visit Mammoth we know that our pup Cashel can hang with them and have a blast. We can ski the mountain knowing she's having as much fun as us. They are professional and communicative and treat our pup as their own. There needs to be more stars for Sierra Dog Ventures, who are nothing short of miraculous! Our sweet Juno is a rescue pup that's has been with us for nearly a year. The entire time she was the soul mate to our beautiful dog with DM (dog equivalent of ALS) Bodhi. Juno was his soul mate, but as a result of his limited mobility her life was very sheltered and limited to our home and neighborhood. Two weeks ago we said a sad goodbye to Bodhi. We decided to heal by way of forward momentum and creating a new (bigger) world for our very shy and timid Juno (who cannot be off leash!). So... when we took a trip to mammoth and decided to send her to doggy day camp, to say we were nervous would be a huge understatement. Sierra Dog Ventures deserve a thousand stars. Christi is a miracle worker, especially for rescue dogs with issues. She picked Juno up in the morning (who does not like new people yet she warmed up to her in seconds!) and dropped her off in the late afternoon after hiking all day. She texted pictures and updates throughout and by day three we had an entirely new and confident dog. I'm so blown away I was literally in tears. Javier was in heaven and I think he is mad because he has not been back yet! I am a Mammoth Lakes local with a 5 year old yellow lab. Javier is a great dog and needs daily exercise. Normally either my husband, myself or our good friend can get his 3-5 miles per day. Recently my husband was out of town, my friend was busy and I had appointments all day. If you are local to the Mammoth Lakes area or are coming to visit and have a dog that needs watching, you must check out Sierra Dog Ventures. Christi, Duncan and Johnny are the best!! I came into town for my sister's wedding in mid-June with my very energetic, 7-month old Golden Retriever puppy and was not about to leave her cooped up in the condo during the many festivities I needed to attend throughout the weekend. Christi was very responsive in answering my initial email inquiry and set up a call to go over the details prior to our arrival. She offered to meet us once we got into town to confirm the schedule. The minute we met, I knew Christi loves what she does and cares deeply for her furry clients. Snugg enjoyed two outdoor adventures with Christi and her posse, evidenced by the frequent pictures and texts that let me know my fur baby was having the time of her life (and was behaving). I was a little jealous that Snugg saw more of Mammoth than I did! Christi was also kind enough to make special arrangements to have Snugg hang out with her after normal business hours. I found Christi and she had different options for us. If we could rate Sierra Dog Ventures at 100 stars we would. Our whole family LOVES Christi and Duncan! Our Australian Shepherd Wags is VERY important to our youngest daughter, she has a bond that none of us have in the family with Wags. Wags is very sweet but protective of "his girl." Christi and Duncan immediately saw that connection and they were patient and very thoughtful. They came to the condo we rented the day we arrived to do a "meet/greet" to make sure Wags and out daughter would be OK with the arrangement. The next day was the first day they took Wags for his hike and everything was fantastic! They picked up Wags from the condo promptly at 9am and brought him back promptly at 4pm. Throughout the day they texted us pictures of Wags on his adventure, which eased our daughter's mind greatly so she could have fun. By the time Wags got home to us....he was exhausted. He had so much fun, he was falling asleep sitting up trying to spend time with his family. It was the cutest and greatest. Two days of hiking with Sierra Dog Ventures and Wags loved every minute. Our family highly recommends Sierra Dog Venture and we will absolutely be giving them a call when we are back in Mammoth.
