They had a decently large selection of different flavors and sized treats for us to pick from for him, we even brought a couple home for our friends' dogs. Impressive selection by LA standards for sure. They have a store in Bishop in the plaza next to Rite Aid and this one is in the plaza with Vons. I wish they had a location in LA. It's truly a one stop shop. The employees/owner have always been super helpful and friendly. They have so much stuff. The dog food section is insane. Stella and Chewy's, raw and freeze dried selections, Natural Foods, Acana, Blue Buffalo. They have a bunch of brands. The booties section has different sizes made with vibrant and it's excellent if you're going hiking on the trails with your dog. I was even able to get male dog diapers here. Toys? This is a great store with everything you and your dog could need. We were in the store probably over an hour looking at everything. Discovered a lot of new products we had not seen before, as well as restocked on some old favorites. Look. My experience with this store is limited. I'm not a local, and I haven't done my daily needs shopping here. So maybe I shouldn't be writing this review at all. But I am a tourist, and as a tourist this is a great pet store. When I'm on vacation I buy myself lots of treats, and it seems only fair that my dog gets some treats too. I walk in looking for a nice little something, and a friendly guy at the counter asks if I'm here for a homemade cookie. Sure! I ask for the most popular versions, and of course my dog loves everything squirrel. Mostly I'm impressed by the price. Dogs got dirty on a hike so we came here to use the self serve dog wash. Despite our dogs throwing a huge tantrum and screaming bloody murder (we have shibas), the owner was very friendly and accommodating. I hope our dogs didn't scare any other dogs in the store! 5 stars as prices were great! $12 for our smaller 20 lbs shiba and $15 for the larger 27 lbs one. We also picked up some dog treats. I've been carrying around the card for the owner because I wanted to send him a message about a worker there who was AMAZING! I believe her name is Daisy and she spent a lot of time patiently helping us fit our labrador for some booties. We were visiting from out-of-town and we picked the right shop! Jonathan was helpful in answering my questions about the bathing process. Tailwaggers is spacious and chock full with a delightful variety of collars, dog food and "special recipe" gourmet dog cookies. They even had a "bling" collar for our husky Julie (scored big points here). Our Huskies enjoyed the cheese stars, squirrels and for a special treat the chomping down on mammoth elephant gourmet dog cookies. Some are even baked with Glucosamine. Bathing experience was stress free and towels/grooming supplies (note ear cleaner for dogs) were thoughtfully placed on the table. Thanks to Jonathan and Lynn (Owner). Wonderful experience and we plan on making many repeat visits. Sorry for all the hair from double coat huskies. Delighted to share the cookies when we returned home with furry friends. We're in mammoth to backpack with our black lab & I some how miscalculated how much of her food to bring... ended up being 4 meals short and stopped to try and find just the right amount food (we didn't want any extra to leave in our car) and the two girls working were SO nice. I stumbled upon this place after grocery shopping at Vons and I'm so glad I did! This place had everything you could want for your dog. They sell: a wide variety of toys, bowls and stands, food (fresh and hard), collars and leashes, clothes for your pups, treats (loose and bagged), and so much more! I came to buy my dog some bones, and they have tons of cubbies with various sizes and types of bones. You can pick and choose a variety of different bones and bag them up yourself, which is what I liked the most about this place. What's truly great about this place is there isn't anything like it anywhere close by. So if you forget something for your pup, come here! And yes! Fantastic pet shop & the only one that my two "puppies" will go to. I call all my dogs "puppies" regardless of their age! They both get so excited when I ask them if they want to go to the "dog store" where they get their nails clipped, bathed, dog food, & dog toys! The owner is part of the family & extremely knowledgeable about everything concerning canines & other animals! What a gem! And what an angel! When my dog hurt her paws playing in the waters around June lake, I was really worried she'd be done for the rest of the trip. Quick search of the area led me to Tailwaggers and I couldn't be happier! We were greeted quickly and the (I believe owner) guided us over to the shelf with the dog booties. They had three different styles of booties and the owner was able to look at my dog's feet and knew the size and style that would work best for us. She patiently helped show me how to put them on and within minutes we were on our way with our shiny new dog booties. I came here with high hopes since there were so many great reviews. Big Mistake!! When I enter a store and I am the only customer, I expect the owner who is working behind the counter to greet me. Boy was I wrong. I walked in and the lady with the short brown hair just glanced up and gave me a dirty look. No greeting. I browsed around the store looking at everything. Yes--there is a lot of high priced stuff in here. I saw several things that I would have loved to buy for my dog. But I was still waiting for my greeting. It never came. So I did not buy anything and walked out. FYI--to the owner: You own a small business in a small town. You should treat every single customer like they might be your last. If you would have greeted me, I would have been a great customer for you. I love spending money on my dog and would have made a very large purchase at your store. This pet supply store is expensive, but so are most places in this ski town. Nice selection of good quality dry and canned food. Lots of leashes & collars. We purchased a no pull harness at $29.00 which is about $4.00 more than many other places, but we've been looking for this harness for 4 months. It is not carried in the "big box" pet supply stores. So we paid the price. Boxed treats as well as homemade treats. I really hate the pet supply stores that call themselves a dog "bakery" and their treats on display are definitely mass produced to look like human bakery items. Tailwaggers, were REALLY home made. Lots of fun pet related kitschy things. She even has a dog wash booth. I believe it was $15.00 for a 1/2 hour use. You wash your own dog, but they supply a raised bathtub, shampoo, towels, etc. I feel the price is high, but the convenience is nice. read more
