Had a suddenly sick kitten. Although she was up to date with all of her shots and inoculations she obviously needed to be seen ASAP. Although we are only part time residents in the area we were given an immediate appointment with Dr. TeSlaa, who was thorough, gentle, and explained everything as he examined and evaluated what he thought our sweet baby cat needed. And, he emailed the test results when they came in too. All's well that ends well.... This is a doctor that is worth keeping! Sometimes an emergency has unexpected rewards.

We don't really have mosquitos where we are from and our dog is not on any heart worm preventative. When I learned about the mosquitos (morning that we were supposed to hit the road) I called my vet in my home town and they weren't able to squeeze us in. I almost didn't bring my dog but decided to try to call a vet in mammoth and called Alpen. I explained my worry for the heart worm and they were happy to take me in that day!! Once we got into town, we stopped by and we're able to get some preventative. The lady at the front was so nice and helpful. Later that night when we pulled up to our first campsite there were HUNDREDS of mosquitos. Our car was swarmed from the second we pulled up. After some time prepping with bug spray we made our way out. Proud to say my dog seemingly got no bites over our 4 day stay all thanks to Alpen vet! Very thankful they were able to get us in on such short notice.

He'd…read morepreviously been seen at Bishop Vet Hospital (years ago, though), so we called there first. Their first available appointment was a full week away, and they wanted $125 simply to walk through the door for a same-day "emergency" visit. This wasn't an emergency, but I was offered nothing else. The $125 was in addition to any services they'd actually provide, and I wasn't going for that unless there were absolutely no other choices. So, I called Mtn. View. We got a next day appointment. The women working the front desk were very friendly and helpful. They all seemed like super caring people and like they were really happy to be working there. The vet we saw was Dr. Lequient, who was also very caring. She listened well, considered about our pup's comfort as she examined him, and was very careful in her diagnosis. We liked her a lot. In general, we are interested in holistic animal care, and I don't think there's any place in Bishop that offers that. Dr. Lequient wanted to give our dog a systemic antibiotic for his superficial wound, and we politely declined it. She was OK with that. We took home some cleansing wipes and an antibiotic cream, to be used for 7 - 10 days. The wound healed overnight, so we discontinued usage. The doctor also inquired about vaccinations, which we don't do, but she was pretty accepting of our position. I wouldn't say she's spectacularly holistic, but she seems to respect owners' wishes. Here's the best part: someone from the office called us one or two days later, to check in and see how our dog was doing. Again, nice conversation with someone who really sounded like she cared (and I'm sure she did). I am totally sold on this office! And the little details: we were seen on time; the office is spacious and clean; no one tried to sell us anything.

Dr. Chong has been Sutton's veterinarian since she was a tiny puppy, and I truly can't imagine trusting her care to anyone else. Over the past eight years, Dr. Chong and the entire staff have consistently been kind, friendly, prompt, and professional. They always take the time to answer questions, provide excellent care, and genuinely make us feel like Sutton is part of their family. I highly recommend Mountain View Animal Hospital to anyone looking for compassionate, knowledgeable veterinary care. We are so grateful for everything they've done to help keep Sutton happy and healthy over the years!

Oakhurst Vet Hospital, Oakhurst: 2026 Apr 20 (5 of 5)…read more My kitty knows a good person when he sees one. We made an appointment for Aynsley Copperfellow to see Dr. Lazarcheff. Aynsley was crying all the way to the clinic, but stopped crying as soon as I stopped the car. It could be nerves but I'd like to think that he felt save in his environment. Aynsley is nearly 12-years of age but has only visited the vet half a dozen times. Generally, he's a very healthy kitty but the past several days we noticed he was walking hunched and didn't like to be picked up. For a 'once' stray kitty, Aynsley loves close connection with us - jumping on us whenever we sit down and jumps on the bed every night to sleep with us. Dr. Kevin Lazarcheff: The doctor has kind eyes and a pleasant demeanour. He has seen 3 of our kitties and even made a house call to help put our 20-year-old to rest. We trust Dr. Lazarcheff with all our four-pawed family members. Kevin said that my boy is very calm and sweet. He described my kitty as 'blond' Caitlyn E: Caitlyn, the doctor's assistant was gentle and kind to me and Aynsley. She understands what our four-legged children means to us. She weighed Aynsley, checked his heartrate and temperature without any problems. My kitty was so well-behaved. I'm a proud mom. Shannon B: Shannon checked us out with prescriptions for Aynsley. She didn't just give us the drugs. Shannon described what and how we should give the drugs to my boy. I am extremely grateful for the assistance we get from Dr. Lazarcheff and his staff. When I was concerned and reached out to them, Dr. Lazarcheff personally called me and helped put my mind at rest. Several days after Aynsley's visit, Caitlyn called to check on him. The office is clean and open. One of the patients, a little dog peed on the rug and the staff immediately wiped the mess up. It shows their attentiveness to their clients. Parking is easy.

This vet should be called DR. DEATH!!!…read more My beautiful dog of 14 years had cancer in her mouth but she still wanted and we deserved more time with her BUT DR.DEATH wanted the money!!! I had been away from home at my daughter's graduation as I find out she was terminal. DR.DEATH wanted to take her from me before I even got home but insisted he wait till the next day so I could rush home, hold her and say goodbye. I asked him if there was anyone in town that could help her pass at home DR. DEATH LIED and said "no"!!! (BUT Actually a veteran at Animal Hospital of the Sierra does offer at home pet euthanasia!) As I held my dear pet she lunged forward as HE approached with the needle and I asked for a moment and I spoke to DR.DEATH asking if I could have more time at home but he insisted she was in pain. I didn't see the pain he talked about but I trusted him. I said goodbye to my first pet that afternoon and I regret that decision every time I think of her. I wanted to care for her and to say goodbye and this man took that from me so he could have MORE MONEY!!!! Do not go to this heartless man if you want heart felt care for your pet stay far away!!! I go the Animal Hospital of the Sierra now and they are exceptional! Two woman with beautiful hearts for animals run that office. STAY AWAY FROM DR. DEATH he is a horrible veterinarian, a man who only wants your money! Stand back and truly look at how they run that office and you'll see it too.
