Here are the facts of what happened to me when I tried to rent a house from Hauserman: ⁃I found a rental property that was suitable for my group, filled out the booking form, signed the rental agreement, and paid the initial payment. ⁃Weeks later, I got an email that said my rental had been canceled, with no indication as to why. ⁃I had to call them and ask what happened. They stated that the owner had decided they wanted to stay there that weekend, so they simply canceled my stay, despite the signed rental agreement. ⁃They were unhelpful in finding an alternative location, offering only another one of their properties that had less bedrooms and a worse location. ⁃I tried to work with them and asked to be transferred to other properties in their portfolio that were suitable for our group and more equivalent to our original rental, but they refused to allow us to transfer to one of those unless I paid the difference, despite Hauserman being the one that canceled our original rental. Just be aware that Hauserman can and will cancel your rental at any point and then basically tell you to pound sand.

Challenges encountered: No ski lease or future tenants for the season No STR rentals ( not even holiday weekends) Poor communication and follow up Did not submit TOT for our STR until end of January. I would not recommend this property management company. My family and I have been coming to Tahoe for 60 years and I have never had such poor property managers.

I booked this place in the beginning of February, so I was getting more and more excited as the weeks went on. But suddenly, there was a blizzard warning. I've never had to purchase travel insurance as I've never heard of Tahoe getting a blizzard warning in March, but alas, the Donner Pass had closed and my family and boyfriend's family agreed to reschedule our Airbnb. I requested it to be moved to Easter weekend, but saw my request had been denied. I was told to that there are no changes to any reservation outside of their 30-day cancellation/change window. This is preposterous considering we don't get weather announcements a month in advance. This is the only time signing a contract for an Airbnb has f*cked my family and my boyfriend's family out of $500 each. They make you sign a contract before allowing you to book the place. The weather played a big factor in all of this happening, but it truly really came down to how poorly TVR handled the situation. We were not given any credit to use, no discounts for future bookings, no chance to change our reservation for an even more expensive weekend, and absolutely no refunds even though weather reports advised people to not travel to Tahoe that weekend. Not even an apology for their policies. All I was told was to contact Airbnb for cancellations. They took our $1K and ran with it. I would not recommend TVR to anyone.

We parked in the passenger drop off zone and the office was a few steps away. The brochure they gave use was outdated as there is no pottery place in the village anymore. The underground garage was nice as it was snowing. You can find an updated map in the village at the ski lift pass office. The ice rink was closed during our end of March visit and if you want food from a restaurant make sure it's before 6pm as the only thing open late is pizza. The movie theatre was nice but they only have kid shows. The hot tub and pool were closed in our unit so we had to walk over the the second pool by the main entrance to use that. The steam room was not working for the men there but was working by our unit in the gym area. We were to check out by 11am but your key card works after that so we were able to go back and get something we forgot.

Furnishings were all comfortable. Internet worked well. Kitchen was well appointed and we were able to cook several of our meals. The only downside was the resort was mostly closed up. There were three restaurants that were open during out stay, Petra, Rubicon Pizza and a Mexican place. The Mexican restaurant was good, but only open 11-4 on weekdays. One of the weekend days it was closed due to a plumbing issue. Rubicon was great, but the menu is a little limited aside from pizza. Petra just wasn't our type of place. There was a general market open until 6pm, and a froyo place. I'm not sure how much of the closures were due to Covid or just summer in general. This was the end of a week + trip for us, and I liked that I was able to do some of my laundry before heading home! We would definitely return!
