I waited 40 mins. past 1st appt time. Dr. referred me to their nutritionist Rebecca who told me to order Nepro protein shakes. When these arrived, I saw these were for people on dialysis. I'm Not! Later my Primary care doctor and nephrologist from Renown both confirmed I should be taking Less protein Not more! So her advice could have harmed my kidneys. (Amazon wouldn't accept return of nutrition even unopened. 2 boxes of Nepro shakes cost $200). read more

I should have known better than to schedule with a medical practice that has SOOOOOOOOOOO many negative reviews. I made an appointment well over a month in advance. I filled out all of the paperwork they sent me in advance, including one paper that insisted that I reschedule ANY appointment that I cannot make 24 hours or more in advance. Further stating that they will FIRE me as a "customer" if I miss 3 appointments in a year. Today they had the cajones to call me less than 1 HOUR before my appointment to cancel it. This was after spending 2.5 hours ridding on 3 different busses to make it to their ritzy offices in the South of Reno. Of course, there were NO sincere apologies nor any offers to make things right for my wasted time. Just an offer to reschedule. NO THANK YOU! You insist that customers have to respect your time, but our time means nothing to you? Well, I fire YOU as a "professional" who has forgotten what it means to be professional. In closing, I am glad I didn't verbalize my dissatisfaction over the phone since this practice will also FIRE clients if they are "verbally abusive" in their self-absorbed minds. I had a routine appointment set for August 23rd at 10 a.m. At 9:36 a.m. my wife answered my phone and she was asked if I would be attending my appointment. She told the person yes and that we were driving there now. We arrived before 10 a.m. and when I checked in I was told the appointment had been cancelled. First the receptionist said it was because they did not have my lab results. I was holding copies in my hand. Then she said she had a message cancelling the appointment. When I asked why I wasn't cancelled when Sierra Nevada called, she had no answer. I wrote my doctor a letter and mailed it on Sept. 5th. As of this date I have not received a response. I had been with Sierra Nevada for the past six years and had always been treated professionally. With all of the negative reviews that Sierra Nevada has on YELP you would think that treating patients with courtesy and respect, especially the elderly, would be a good profitable business model. That afternoon I cancelled Sierra Nevada and moved to Renown - Kidney Care. read more

I take care of a 72 yr woman. She has been due for a procedure thru gi consultant. Before she can have it done she must first have her kidneys checked. She was referred to sierra nevada specialty. They never reached out to her. Gi consultants finally called and told her to call them and gave her a number for scheduling and a name,j.d. or d.j. and told her to get a hold of sierra because it was vital this kidney test be done. It has now been 6 weeks since she was referred. Still no contact from the office. For the last 2 weeks we have been calling repeatedly every day, leaving message and still no response! Today I tried to call the office and never did get to speak to a person after being on hold for 10 minutes! This type of behavior is unacceptable from a health care professional! Who do I complain to? What can I do to get them to respond. Totally inefficient, inadequate, unprofessional and very shoddy shady employees and staff. Makes me doubt the doctors abilities and practices!!! read more

Very unprofessional! They changed their staffing and communications system. It was always very difficult to get through by phone. The patient portal stopped working. They cancelled my appointment due to the doctor not being available that day and went down to only one person treating thyroid issues, rescheduled for 3 months later. When the appointment time came, they no longer had anyone treating thyroid issues. They didn't even call to inform me! If I hadn't called them I would have driven all the way there for nothing! Now I have to start all over finding care. read more

Carson City office is poorly run and poorly managed. Placed me in the wrong exam room where a different doctor did not confirm my identity, read someone else's chart, and misinformed me that I had cysts on my kidneys (totally incorrect) and tried to change some of my other prescribed meds before the mixup was discovered. Next visit, assigned doctor arrived at exam totally unprepared for appointment, unprepared to discuss results of CAT Scan which she had forgotten she ordered. Tried to register as a patient on their web site, response several days later was "We are unable to process your request. If you have any questions please contact the doctor's office." read more

Scheduled for pulmonary visit for first time in several years. The appointment was with Jennifer Bickford, who is an excellent PA. By chance, I ended up with slight fever prior to morning visit and mentioned that. We scheduled for a sleep apnea study plus x-ray and a return visit month later. First, the nurse assistant was very unproductive and had a zero personality. I was prescribed some Prednisone. I called their office in afternoon after finding out fever was 102 and the local pharmacy did not have an order for my meds. Turned out they had sent it to my mail order pharmacy, not the local. I left message to call me...never received reply. Made one more call the next day with same nonreply. Finally was able to get someone to send script to my local pharmacy and was able to get meds late Friday. Became sicker and made appointment with my GP for Tues. SN Speciality Care person did call me Friday and I said I was not happy and wanted Jennifer B. to call me so I could explain. They never told her. Following week I called for the Office Manager, left name/number, etc and once more, NO reply. I then went online and started looking up all the reviews on SN Specialty Care and realized there were many other people with very similar comments, almost ALL of them being negative. Turns out you cannot put a ZERO review so the least they get is a ONE. I am sure the doctors there are good and as I mention, Jennifer B. is very good BUT the entire Practice amounts to a very low, dismal rating and should be avoided at all cost. This type of service is becoming endemic in the medical industry and needs to be stopped. I believe most is caused by the 'corporatization' of medical services whereby we are receiving less and less care. ONLY GO TO PRACTICES WITH DECENT RATINGS read more

I would not recommend this practice under any circumstances. My last visit was with a PA I'd never seen. She did not listen to a word I said nor did she have any knowledge of the chronic illnesses I have. I had to wait 2 weeks for the after visit notes and they were a product of her imagination and had nothing to do with me. Even if my old PA returns I will never go back to this office. read more

My dad recently passed away so I now take my elderly mother to her doctor appointments. To say that I have been disappointed in her care givers is putting it mildly. Then we saw Dr. Lindsey Sanders. She was the epitome of what you should expect from a doctor and a visit to their office. Her true empathy towards my mother was touching. She also spoke directly to my mother, which none of the other doctors have done. I'm not the patient, she is and she is quite capable of understanding her own medical needs and care. Thank you Dr. Sanders and everyone in the office, you are an example that all other doctors offices should model themselves after. read more

After reading all the negative reviews, i agree with what everyone is saying. I had a similar experience. I had been seeing Dr. Howard for years but eventually the repeatedly terrible experiences with the office staff and medical assistants drove me away. They never answer calls, never return messages and simple prescription refills became a nightmare . They can't get ANYTHING right at this place. Even their billing was a mess. Every time i had an office visit i got some phantom bills that made no sense. After calling over a dozen times for a prescription That never got filled, i gave up and stopped seeing them. The office staff at the Reno location SUCK! My daughter has had nothing but issues having her prescriptions filled. TWICE now they have submitted for insulin used in a pump. She has never been on a pump. We have to use a mail order prescription company; there is no way to verify what is being sent. End result - I have paid for two sets of insulin she cannot use! $80.00 gone! On one occasion they sent her prescription to Costco. We have NEVER had ANYTHING sent to Costco. When complaints are lodged, the office manager is sympathetic, however nothing really seems to change. I believe these folks have zero idea how unbelievably scary it is for a person whose very life depends on their medications to be put through THIS much DRAMA every time they need a refill! It's not like she's asking for competency filling a day-to-day life saving drug, oh wait! Yes, she is. Come on folks, let's pretend you are filling prescriptions for YOUR daughter please. On the upside, and literally this is the only upside, Christine Burns is an amazing PA. She cares about her patient's wellbeing. If she could only get her office staff to put half of the effort in that she does, they may retain their patient's. Yesterday's insulin shipment was the last straw. We are actively searching for a new Endo. read more

I have been waiting for care for 6 months now. They can't effectively communicate. None of their systems work. Can't pull labs from my primary care provider. Then when I hand deliver the labs, they wait until my next appointment to tell me they aren't good labs, when they could have proactively looked at them when I turned them in. They are extremely incompetent for being people who come from a higher education. I specifically asked if I should go to labcorp for new labs, and they told me no. The next appointment they told me I should have gone to labcorp. I have a very difficult and busy schedule. They have done nothing but waste my time and block me from adequate care. Find a different care provider if you would like to get timely results. read more

Terrible office staff. My pharmacy reached out twice to get my insulin prescription filled. After a week of them not hearing anything I had to call the office and spent 1.5 business days trying to get ahold of a person. Once I was able to speak to someone she was incredibly rude, told me she'd only fill my script for 1/3 of what it's normally filled for(90 day supply, they filled a 30 day supply) and hung up on me at the end of our phone call. My pharmacy reached back out to them (twice) because they have my middle name and home address wrong on my prescription and the pharmacy cannot legally fill the script with wrong information. After I've talked to them and asked them to fixed it at least twice. So I'm still waiting for my insulin prescription to be filled. I love Christine Burns, amazing doctor. But the office staff is truly terrible at their jobs. read more

Dr. Sullivan is excellent! His office is a constant source of aggravation. From missing appointments, changed visit times without notice, and wrong info after correcting multiple times, it is always something. I am writing this from his waiting room while they try to telephone him because they have no record of my appointment. It is always something! If Dr. Sullivan wasn't so good I would change doctors in a heartbeat. read more

The physicians are personable, however, the Carson City office staff is totally unresponsive, ineffective and inefficient. Call their office and 'your call is very important to us' and leave a message and 'they will get back to you within 48 hours'. How important is my call if it takes 2 friggin days to get a response IF THEY BOTHER TO RETURN YOUR CALL AT ALL!. Not very I think. I am a renal transplant patient. On June 27th I spoke with Dr. Quiqley. I told him I was almost out of my anti-rejection medications and needed refills called to Walgreens in Gardnerville. As of today July 18, 2024 the refills for these vital medications have still NOT been called to the Pharmacy!. I have been to the office with a list of the medications I need and I have left several messages and still NO response!. Very dissatisfied with their service. I will attempt another visit to the office today. read more

I have been coming to this office for about 2 or 3 years now. My medical history made me predisposed to kidney disease which has slowly been progressing. I only have experience with two doctors here, my primary doctor is Dr. Dhannireddy and if you want to talk about dedication, knowledge, effort, she is your gal. I am sort of spoiled when it comes to healthcare and doctors, or so it feels, I have extensive medical issues, so I generally form bonds with my doctors either due to the oddities or complex health issues I have, or just due to being a patient for years, and whether I am really "special" or not, I appreciate the doctors that don't make me feel like a cog in a wheel. Dr. Dhannireddy is exceptional, and I am lucky to have been referred to her. She works with my personality, as I feel I am a pretty good advocate of my own health, I take good notes, keep good records, and I generally ask a lot of questions. She is thorough and explains everything to me, which I love in a doctor. Another bonus of her personality, outside of major ones like I said as far as dedication, knowledge and effort, is that she also is willing to work with other hospitals, doctors etc. A lot of my care is centered at UCSF and she had no issues calling up the doctors there and talking about my case. I think that it shows a lot, when my doctors at UCSF describe her Dr. Dhannireddy as "delightful". She works with my other specialists here in town as well. When you have a lot of working components, making sure they all get along is pivotal. Once while inpatient, I dealt with Dr. Lefler, the experience was minimal, as it surmounted to a 5 minute conversation once a day, but that isn't his fault, doesn't make sense to take over my case when I already have more than adequate following and care with Dr. D. But I'm sure its obvious, that I prefer Dr. Dhannireddy. Also the office is clean, the nurse practioners are nice, they have an online patient portal for communication which also makes my millennial heart sing. They are also set up for vitual telehealth appointments as well. So if you find yourself in need of a kidney specialist, Dr. Dhannireddy at Sierra Nephrology should be your goal. read more

Provider was helpful however billing office was extremely negligent. I overpaid and a refund was due. I made 6 phone calls and spoke with 4 different workers. After 4 months I filed a complaint with the State of Nevada Consumer Health Assistance and they finally paid. Terrible experience. read more

Dr Dani, is wonderful. We would give her 5 stars but there r others to deal with @ this office. Always pleasant and ready to help you. Ok here's the but: the Staff is lacking in response to calls and lacks concern for patients needs. If I hear once more that they r very "busy" I will throw up! Every patient is important and their needs/request should be responded to in a timely manner. read more

The docotrs are amazing, when you get to see them. The staff is wonderful, when the systems are working. They seem to always have something going on: new system that doesn't work, fax machines down, doctors quitting, schedules constantly needing to be changed. They are going to give you great care, but expect to jump through several hoops first. read more
