Dr Bean is one of the nicest s doctors in town, he is very warm and responsive to your needs. My husband has been a patient for the retired Dr Bean and his son Jeffrey Bean for many years. This doctor will give you all the time you need and won't rush you, he is very kind and compassionate and his staff are amazing. I would not give any stars if I could. After waiting 2 months for an appointment, I went to my appointment And realized that this place provides no solutions or even treatment, and is a rip off. I will file a complaint with the Podiatric Medicine Board, and notify my insurance company that Dr Bean did nothing for my issue which is a serious nail fungus, provided no guidance or next steps, and charged me $122 for a bunch of stuff that has nothing to do with my problem; Most of the products were supposed to be dispensed by a physician. read more

My wife went into the foot center due to a bump on her foot. She, first confirmed that they accepted our insurance. They said that they did, and set the appointment. First problem: front desk staff. My wife has never had so much trouble with front desk staff as she did here. Between having billing issues, and their complete disrespect for our business, it didn't take long before she had second thoughts about the place. The dr said that he was unsure of what it was, but after too many tests, x-rays, and an MRI, the dr came to a conclusion: he had no idea what it was. He did say, however, that it can't be good, and it needs to be removed ASAP. What dr goes to surgery as a first option? Just bad ones. Hint hint. It didn't take long for my wife to have her gut feeling about this place confirmed. First, we received not one, but two bills, which we were told would be covered. Second, my wife spent just a few minutes on google, talking with other doctors, and doing very simple research. Turns out that the bump was easily diagnosed, and it also turns out that surgery would have been a horrible mistake. My advice: find a GOOD dr. Find someone else. Anyone else will do. My wife and I both stopped going to Dr. Bean after multiple visits. Front office lady is a nightmare. Condescending and rude at every encounter. My wife was buying a product after her appointment and Dr. Bean told her it was $30, the office lady then said it was $32. Dr. Bean said give it to her for $30 and walked away. The lady then charged my wife $32. I got caught in a snowstorm in VC that prevented me from getting to an appointment. I called to let them know and she said it would be $50 charge for less then 24 hours notice. My circumstance didn't matter. I asked to speak with Dr. Bean and she said no. I called back when they sent the bill and she said I couldn't speak with Dr. Bean. The copays and insurance payments for my wife and I was nearly $1100 in revenue for Dr. Bean, yet he discarded us for $50. Bad business model. Find someone else. read more

I was referred to dr. Bean by my old podiatrist and he was nice. The staff and the other hand, very patronizing and condescending. I thought I broke my toe and the staff started saying Marco, like we were in a pool playing a game. She wanted me to hop over to the X-ray area. I'm a Veteran too. Bad business practices, rude,rude, rude office staff. They don't know what they are doing. As far as surgery outcome? He butchered my foot. I can no longer hardly wear shoes. I suggest you don't bother with this place. Way overpriced and to eager to do surgery procedures that are not necessary. You will not be offered an xray lead cover either. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I went in to see Dr. Bean and his staff to get a bunion on my foot removed that was causing me a lot of pain. When I went in for my pre-op appointment, one of the Dr's Assistants let me know that my insurance company needed to approve the surgery before they could go through with it. I gave my insurance a call to make sure that everything was good to go and I told Dr. Bean's office that if I didn't hear from them, I was assuming that the insurance went through. Little did I know that this was just the beginning of my nightmare. I took a whole week off of work and got everything prepared when Dr. Bean's office calls me on the DAY OF my surgery to tell me that the insurance didn't get back to them so I wouldn't be able to have my surgery that day. They called me 3 hours before I was supposed to check in. What Dr's office has that much disorganization to call me the day of my surgery to let me know it wouldn't be going through or I would be out of pocket thousands of dollars? Come to find out, when I called my insurance company, Dr. Bean didn't even follow up with them untilll the night BEFORE my surgery to find out if the insurance was going to cover it. Dr. Bean's office should have called to let me know way in advanced that they havent heard from my insurance so that I could give them a call and straighten everything out. That is absolutely unproffesional and absurd. To top it all off, they are still making me pay for my pre-op appointments when I didn't even get to have my operation in the first place! I'm glad I found this out before my surgery because there is no way I would ever let these quacks work on my foot. I do not recommend this place to anybody. Seriously....go to any other Foot Doctor because if you go here, garunteed it will be hell. read more

I saw Dr. Bean for a running injury. The staff was very friendly and professional both on the phone and in person. The doctor reviewed the x-rays with me and diagnosed the problem, a bruised bone. He wrapped my foot to help it heal and explained the wrapping process so that I could replace the wrapping myself without another office visit. He also suggested orthotics to prevent future injuries and told me the cost, insurance coverage and pros and cons of each option. I selected the orthotics formed in-office and have been running injury-free since my visit. read more

My significant other was planned to have surgery. She had her preop two weeks before the surgery and was prescribed her pain medication which we filled a week in advance. We specifically stated that we assume the surgery was authorized if we didn't hear from Dr. Bean or any of his associates. After fasting the morning the day of surgery including not drinking any water.. My significant other got a call from the doctor HOURS before saying the surgery has yet to be authorized and we're told the only way we could follow through with the surgery was if we paid the bill in full. We were supposed to come up with thousands of dollars within hours to follow through with a procedure that has been planned out months in advance. We pleaded with them to still follow through with the surgery and they will get authorization a couple days after from our insurance company. We got a no. The office acknowledged that they neglected to call our insurance provider until the night before the scheduled surgery. The lack of empathy this doctor has is dispacable. They should know they cost our family hundreds of dollars by taking work off, and throwing away vacation time for recovery time to ultimately recover from nothing. Nonetheless, I wouldn't let my significant other touch this doctors office with a ten foot pole after our personal encounters with these individuals.. Maybe if we have looked up this office in the first place and took the time to read others' experiences we would have made an educated decision to not ever do business with Dr. Bean or any of his affiliates again. The fact that our insurance authorizes them speaks volumes about our insurance company who can take partial blame for this. If you took the time to read my story and others that reviewed this office. Please do yourself a favor if you are thinking about a surgery or consultation with these folks... It is a waste of time to even dial their number. I have been to this Center 2 times, first time surgery went well with the Senior Dr. Bean...then had my other foot done (small toe bone hurting) removed bone first time second time the Son Jeff Bean was just out of school the surgery was NOT a success at all and would not go back to go under another time with him. Had a pain in my foot a few weeks ago on the bottom out side, so I called them (would not let them do surgery again) made an apt for xray and exam. Arrived on time could not find my medical insurance card, told the lady at front desk I will have to call back and reschedule when I find my card. I went to my SUV looked like crazy and found it went back in ...about 5 minutes...and she was SO RUDE...WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN...NOT THE SAME WHEN THE FATHER HAD IT. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE AND THEY REALLY NEED TO GET RID OF THAT FRONT DESK WOMEN...USELESS AND RUDE.... I know have to wear a Wide shoe because of his botched surgery...but I was dealing with it...but will NOT tolerate such rudeness.... read more
