This place sells numerous varieties of wild bird food /seed along with natural dog food cat food and pet treats. Really competitive prices serving the Elgin community since the 1950's !!! They have a customer loyalty program - punchcard. It's a family run small business with friendly and knowledgeable employees. They carry all American made unique products you won't find at big box or chain stores. Big bags of bird seed or dog food will be carried to your car (thank you very much !) I love shopping at local small businesses, so I was so excited when I discovered this spot. The employees were all extremely helpful and friendly, and I loved that they had the loyal family pet with them in house (I am a dog lover after all). This shop doesn't carry the exact food my pup normally eats, so I might not shop here for that regularly, however it will be able to work in a pinch. They do however, have a great selection of toys, treats, and fun cookies that I am definitely going to come get again in the future. I would highly recommend this small business to all of the pet lovers out there. read more

This Is a great small family business. The people that work here really know their stuff and are always there to help you or answer any questions. Thy have high-quality products and are a good place to go for special dietary needs (my GSD has food sensitivities and they have several great-quality options for her). I too am a small business owner and do not charge my customers for using a credit card. While it is only 3% that you charge it's 3% over an above the price I want to pay. Does the $1.53 you charged me really make that much of a difference to your bottom line? This is all part of doing business and I cannot support a small business when they pass along a ridiculous charge like this on to me. read more

Not a very friendly place to shop. I foster animals in my home and had several buy one bag and get one bag of food free coupons and they would not except them. No where on the coupon did it say only one per customer so there was no good reason for them to not take them. I had to go to a different store in Algonquin and they were happy to take my multiple coupons. I will not shop here ever again becasue of this and I feed grain free food to the animals in my home. read more

I used to buy my pet food (cat and dog) as well as toys for them from Siers Feed & Pet Supply. Then there was a time I went in trying to find a new food for my dog (he had severe allergies) since the current brand was being bought out by a big company and would likely change the food formula. I spoke with one of the owner's sons and when I mentioned about finding a new brand I was told, "Don't get your panties in a bunch." The owners and staff at Sier's are extremely knowledgable and friendly. I own two dogs, and we get mostly everything we need for them at Siers. Everything from their food, (FROMM brand) collars, water bowls, brushes and even ear cleaner. Love walking in and knowing I can get what I need at a reasonable price, that it is a local company and there aren't random teenagers who don't know one product from the next walking around volunteering (or NOT in many cases) to help me. Went to visit my mom. The dog and I have an unspoken rule that in order for him to allow me to travel I must bring him treats when I return. No PetsMart or PetCo treats. Rover says he can get that crap at home. He insist that I hit up a hidden gem on my travels. There are no frills as this is a pet/feed store. I found the typical treats and dog food made by the usual company's but settled on some baked goods by the counter. While browsing around I was greeted and asked it I needed help. I'm blanking on the lady's name that helped me but I meet the whole fam damily right down to the sweet German Shepard and Springer Spaniel. I felt right at home and always love supporting local small business. They gave me a $3 off coupon that I used the following weekend when I went back to visit my mom. Local family owed (31 years) store with great customer service what more can you ask for. read more

Sweet hubby and I stopped by Siers Feed this afternoon, hoping to buy some bird-seed, as the product we've been buying at other stores contains a lot of chaff. We were disappointed to find we had missed the closing by 15 minutes, and started out of the parking lot. Two men were talking by their cars, and one stepped toward us with a smile. Turns out he and the older gentleman own the store, and invited us to come in, they would re-open the store for us ! we discussed what we needed and decided on a 40 lb. bag. Upon ringing us up, we were given a punch-card to use, for $20 off at the end of the card, plus a coupon for our next purchase. We mentioned we were planning to adopt a kitten next month, whereupon son moved through the aisles, grabbing small bags of various cat food and treats to try - as samples, he would not let us pay. . .he also recommended another shelter to check out for adoption, in his home-town of Genoa. Man, I love small businesses, and these gentlemen have earned our business from now on! I urge every FB friend in the area to give them a try. These guys went so above and beyond - can't wait to go back! read more
