    Whole Roast Duck
    Vivian T.

My family usually orders Sieu Sieu BBQ whenever we are in the area and are needing entree for dinner. We typically order their roast duck and roast pork. A whole duck costs around $40 and they give you sauce on the side. There are signs posted with pricing, however, did not catch the price of other items. The duck was plentiful and did have a gamey taste than what I am used to, but it wasn't as greasy. I would've liked it to be a littler warmer, but a quick reheat in the microwave would be best to enjoy. They have a limited selection of hot foods at the time, one being sour mustard greens and pork option and the other was pig ear. They do always seem to be in stock of pork and duck, but can sell out on certain holidays! I would've recommend them if you are in the area, but there are other Chinese BBQ shops that do it better in my opinion.

Had been here before but son wanted to try it. As you walk in you see the ducks and roast pork hanging. Tables on the left to sit down and eat but isn't inviting to do so. Behind seating area is just stuff in boxes for supplies and storage. Doesn't make for restaurant ambience. Older lady got up off table to help us and told us prices and plate options. I ordered the 1/2 duck 1/2 BBQ pork with rice. Both meats were literally room temperature and not hot. I like the meat at least warm. She added juice over rice from duck. Son ordered the fried pork and rice. He said the crust was texture of plastic but meat was fine. If you're looking for a fine dining experiment maybe look for another place. My son said this place probably caters to long time Asian customers. Good to take home and reheat products

BBQ Pork - Charsiu. 1/2 lb!

Yo, I could not shut up while eating the food I got from here. Pre-COVID this place was okay, but as of late, it seems they've stepped it up a notch. They used to only take cash before, but now they're accepting the plastics! I got a bit of all the big favs in my household--roasted pork, bbq pork, and roasted duck. The roasted pork and bbq pork was f'n JUICYYYY. When the lady behind the counter was prepping our order, she filled it up with the drippings from the pork. Each and every bite came with an oomph and an UGH, since it was so perfect, lol. Roasted duck came with the peeerrrrfect dipping sauce. THEY PAIRED SO WELL TOGETHER! Alllllll of em were cooked to PERFECTION, and they all were seasoned SO WELL! I just love how lightly salted each of the entrees were, plus they didn't go ham on the five spice either! While chowing down the meal, the husband looked at me with oogly eyes and thought I was a bit dramatic, but hey....I'm not wrong! He too, thoroughly enjoyed the juicy and flavorful meal, haha. Best devoured the day of. For leftovers, they do well in a pinch but it's not quite the same. I recommend doing 1/2 pounds for the 3 pork entrees for 2-3 persons.

Okay so I've never really gotten roasted pork or cha siu in San Diego. When I'm in LA I always get them both, but for some reason I just never really bothered with SD. I regret that. The roasted pork here is moist, juicy, flavorful, fresh. The crunch of the skin is still there even after microwaving too. It's not salty at all, and it's so good in the moment, and so good as left overs. The cha siu. Flavorful and also very moist, it's dry in some parts, but I also like that too. It's terrific as left overs as well. I've tried tons of roasted pork places in LA and I have to say this place ranks in the top 5. The meat is so good, even as left overs, and it's not salty at all. This place is definitely pick up and go, and I could tell their roasted pork is popular as they had full pig orders ready to be picked up. The meat is sold by pound and everyone is super friendly!

Didn't know this place existed until I stumbled into Sieu Sieu BBQ restaurant while visiting another store in the same plaza. No frills restaurant but authentic Cantonese BBQ! When they were chopping the roast pig in pieces, I can hear the crispy sound of the skin. 3 hours at dinner time, the roast pig skin is still crispy and the meat was perfectly seasoned (not too salty)!!! Also got a salted chicken. It was cooked just right, no blood still in the bone. Meat was juicy and tender. They also gave a big container of ginger onion condiment for dipping sauce. Yummy! Price is still a little cheaper than other nearby BBQ stores. Plenty of parking spaces. This is the place for roasted pork and BBQ items. We will be back for more!

    Large suckling pig

Solid chinese bbq in San Diego. This review is specifically for their whole suckling pig. Ordered it for my dad's birthday and do they deliver. Perfect skin and juicy meats. My dad is from Hong Kong and he was pleased. If you have chinese aunts, you know how picky they are with their food. They all complimented SieuSieu's suckling pig. #win Make sure to order in person ahead of time (minimum 7 days) and pay the down payment in person (cash preferred). Large suckling pig + $25 cutting fee (100% recommend) is $420.

No frills, no complications. My usual go to spot (Tom's bbq) was closed on a Tuesday so we decided to give this a place and so glad we did! The roasted duck was very thick and meaty, very great location and will visit next time we are craving vit quay.

    Whole Duck?!?

We went there today to get Whole Roasted Duck. We had them chop up and box. When we got home, open the box, almost half of the duck were missing. What in the box was not the "whole" duck! Where're the rest of it?!? We can only assume, while we looked otherways, or paying at the cash register, their people napped some of our duck meat. For over $35+tax and tip, this place robbed us blind!!!

Unfair business practice!!!! I was charged for 5 lbs of the best part of the suckling pig. When I got home I realized that when they were chopping the pig, they swapped out the burnt piece I originally saw for a different one. Also they threw in fillers (random meat underneath.) This felt dishonest, as I expected to get what I saw before they cut it. Sadly this is a very common practice in Chinese bbq places.

    BBQ Pork

Went in at the end of the day for a quick bite and to wait out traffic. I was worried the pork would be dry. I was pleasantly surprised by juicy, flavorful meat and crispy skin!!! For $12 with rice and pickled veggies, this was a solid value!

August Stop 33 We decided to stop by this small local shop for takeaway on a busy Sunday. The workers were super super sweet, and would definitely want to go back to support! Since it was a new spot, we wanted to try all the BBQ classics! We got the roast pork, BBQ pork, roast duck, and steamed chicken! Since we got it togo, it probably did not taste as great as when it was fresh, but overall it was nice to have some Cantonese BBQ in San Diego! Out of what we got, I would say the BBQ pork was my favorite, but also all the plates come with this great jasmine rice and pickled vegetables. Something about their pickled vegetables just hit so hard. They were not too sour or spicy, but more sweet which helped cut the fat of all the food. Also, the rice. I don't know what it is but this rice with some sauce from the BBQ pork is so nostalgic and so so yummy. Check out this place if you can!

Not bad. I think there's better options for this around here. Better meat quality and crispier pork.

We also ordered the garlic green beans, but they came out so late that we were already completely full from the noodles, so we took them to go. Thank god we did, because they turned out to be pretty salty on their own and really needed to be paired with white rice at home. Overall, an amazing spot for authentic noodles! Something I didn't love though, you order and pay through the online menu. Considering you leave a tip I don't fully understand how it works when we did this whole process ourselves. I also noticed other tables getting plates and bowls which we had to ask for. Overall, I felt the servers weren't too friendly either and seemed to rush through our table despite them standing around not seeming too busy. The food was excellent though! The soup had a great spice to it and super flavorful. The beef and onion was so juicy and addictive, the green beans were good too and had a slight kick to them.

The shrimp were huge, and the caramelized walnuts were broken up and sprinkled all over so you could taste it in every bite. The portions were alright--three dishes were enough for two people. The Orange Chicken felt like there was more dough than chicken. I wouldn't say the food blew my mind; it's just a step up from Panda Express, honestly. Service: 3.5/5 Our server was nice! The waitstaff made themselves available if you needed anything while dining. We made a reservation online and indicated it was for a special occasion, but nothing special was done. We didn't expect anything, really, but it doesn't make too much sense to have the option to mark our dinner as a special event on the reservation website. Atmosphere: 4.5/5 It was warm and dimly lit, which made the dinner feel very romantic. We really had dinner by candlelight. The music was a bit loud where we sat--the speaker was right above us. TL;DR It's really good. Go here…read more -------------- I came here after a friend recommended it when I told them I was coming down to San Diego for a day trip during my spring break from school in Orange County. I was born and raised in LA, so I've had a lot of Chinese food growing up, and I wasn't expecting to be this surprised--but I really was. I ordered the black bean eggplant and the salt and pepper chicken wings. The wings are what they're known for, but I have to start with the eggplant because it completely caught me off guard. It wasn't mushy at all--crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and coated in sauce without losing its texture. Every bite had depth and balance, not just saltiness. I actually meant to start with the wings, but the eggplant was so good I ended up eating half of it before even getting to them. By that point I was already getting full, but I still made sure to finish the wings--and I'm honestly excited to take the rest of the eggplant home as leftovers. By the time I got to the wings, I understood why they're popular--crispy, flavorful, and super satisfying--but what stood out to me was how both dishes complemented each other. One rich and layered, the other crisp and bright. I never got tired of eating, which honestly says a lot. I even told the staff how much I enjoyed the food and they thought I was joking, but I meant every word in saying I thought it was comparable, if not better then the food I've had in Chinatown in LA. Really glad I came here and the next time I have a chance to come back down to SD I definitely will come back here and that's not negotiable for me

To add insult to injury it was BURNED so badly that all you could smell was burnt dough and taste burned dough. Hardly any sauce on it as well. The Shrimp Fried Rice should have just been plain white rice for how bland it was. The Vegetable Chow Mein literally was just a container of salt. Slim noodles and salt, disgusting! We spent so much money and all of this is going right into the garbage. Stay away from this hole! It should be shut down for trying to poison people. Afterwards, we thought it was AYCE on the menu of your choice + the side buffet where there are limited selections of sides and refrigerated drinks. We ordered orange chicken, Chinese style fish and something else. Again, this was on the thought that we could order more than one item on our selected menu.
