One acting as a server for dine-in customers and another prepping the food for to go orders. No greeting or anything so we just stood around waiting to get our order fulfilled. We decided to get the bbq pork and roasted pork combination to go. The rice tasted like a day old and was very dry. I mean as an Asian establishment how can you mess this up? Although the roast pork and char su are still delicious, I miss the wonderful dumpling soups and combination pork plates that had rice and cabbage that they used to serve. The only real place I knew to get some HK BBQ (char siu, roast pork or duck) was inside Ranch 99 at Sam Woo but never was impressed with it and ended up just not ordering it at all ever since. Finally we were having HK BBQ craving again and we thought to try this place and although it's pretty dead, we took a gamble and ordered some char siu and roast pork to go and were really impressed with the quality and taste. The char siu is really legit here or at least when I came to pick some up on Sunday late afternoon. It looked like they just recently had a fresh batch of char siu which look pretty good. We asked for half fat/half lean cut as that's what typically HKers prefer their char siu to be. I think it's one of the best char siu I had in socal to date. Had a few in SD and LA and none of them had the same wow factor as the one here. I would definitely recommend the char siu here. I also tried a small block of roasted pork. The pork looked deceiving lean but after eating it, it was still very juicy and tender. I probably waited too long before consuming so the crispy skin wasn't really there but still edible. I will definitely come here again for my next HK BBQ cravings and will try their roast duck and if I get a large enough group, I'll try to reserve a whole suckling pig! read more

I took a bath in the red rice vinegar, it was that good. I poured it on my rice. I'm not a fan of duck, but my friend said I must try the Roasted Duck & Roasted Pork with rice for around $8. Gotta admit the duck had interesting spices which complimented the gamey flavor of duck. I have had some amazing bbq before and this place does not cut it. The skin on the duck meat was soggy. It's prounounced Sue Sue, which is a bit of a play on words....Siu Mei means roast meat in Cantonese.....but yelling "Suwee Suwee" in the U.S. South is a way of "hog calling". When I get my Chinese bbq pork jones, I eat here. The sister of the woman who owns Watami Sushi by my house owns this place.....Korean women own a Japanese sushi restaurant and a Chinese BBQ restaurant which cracks me up from a historical perspective. You either get that or you don't. I never eat at the restaurant, I pick out my pork and take it home to de-fat and slice on the diagonal while it is warm, and then chill it and eat with Chinese mustard that I mix from powder and black sesame seeds, while enjoying a single malt whisky. This place has the worst service. My friend and I went in around 2 pm and the place was empty. Our gut feeling was to go somewhere else, but I insisted that we gave it a chance. The skin of the roast duck was not just tasty but as you take a big bite of of the drumstick all together you get a satisfaction of oily juicy tender meat of the duck.
