I came with one other person on a Friday at 5pm. The first things I noticed about the restaurant was 1) how good it smelled, and 2) the cozy decoration with inspirational signs on the walls. Food: This restaurant is self-serve, buffet style. The meat selection is smaller than what you'd find at a typical kbbq spot where you order from a server, but all of the meats were always well stocked. I appreciated that the self-serve AYCE meant my meal was completely self-paced. Favorite dishes I kept going back for: - Radish wrap - Marinated wagyu - Wagyu - Short rib - Lamb leg In addition, there was also a huge sauce bar and all the side dishes typically served with kbbq. Bonus: all of their sauces and side dishes are made in house!! Service: Incredibly welcoming staff who came by to check on us and change our grill frequently. Would definitely return again if I'm looking for a filling kbbq meal with a cozy, laid back vibe!

KBBQ Self Serve is such a fun twist on traditional Korean BBQ, giving diners full control over their grilling experience. The meats and sides are fresh and flavorful, and the interactive style makes it perfect for groups or a lively night out. Service was friendly and attentive, helping guide the experience without ever feeling rushed. The atmosphere is casual and energetic, adding to the enjoyment of cooking and sharing food at your own pace. If you're looking for a hands-on, flavorful dining experience with friends, this spot is a must-try.

Grab exactly what you want and how much of it.

I recently found out about this place and love it. Most Korean BBQ places have the servers bring out the meat. So you're at their mercy of how much or little meat they want to bring you. Sometimes you are brought a ton of just one type of meat. Because of this, I have hated eating all-you-can-eat BBQ by myself. At Jeong Won Korean BBQ you go up and grab everything yourself, including meat, veggies, the sides, and drinks. It's so nice being able to grab exactly what you want and how much of it you want. Thanks to the self serve style, I can grab a large variety of meats though at smaller portions and get to try a little bit of everything. There are small, medium, and large tables for different party sizes. Depending on the time, the restaurant may be packed! For the décor, they have a lot of interesting quotes and pictures on the walls. In addition to the meat and veggies, they have so many different varieties of sauces, dips, and seasoning. Four variety of salt! Horseradish, wasabi, Chinese mustard, and so much more. I never would have known how much I love Korean BBQ meats with Chinese mustard! I usually don't like pork bulgogi, but I love the spicy pork bulgogi here. They leave Wagyu beef just like any other meat and I dream about their bacon. I came here 3 times in the month of December!

Great quality, great quantity, good value. Jeong Won is the most recent KBBQ experience that I've had and I have probably dined at over 30 locations in the Southern California region between LA and SD. So far, this is the most genuine Korean BBQ experience that I have had. The biggest difference between this restaurant and other KBBQs in the area, aside from the great quality of their food, is the self-serve aspect which I enjoyed a lot as it gave way to a very cozy dining experience where I didn't have to worry about flagging down busy servers and keeping mental track of how long ago its been since I ordered more meat. The quality of their meats are stellar which boggles me considering this is a self serve restaurant. They had a huge selection of different proteins, cuts, and preparation styles. They also had a large selection of vegetables and sides; larger than anything I've seen in San Diego so far. They also include free soft drinks with your meal which is available via self-serve. Finally their condiment station offers a pretty sizable variety of wet and dry condiments to enjoy your meal with. The only thing that I find to nit-pick at this restaurant is that it is a tad pricy compared to other restaurants. In my experience, I was able to attribute the higher cost to the better ingredients and the inclusion of soft drinks. Altogether, I had an awesome experience and I will find it hard to enjoy other KBBQs without strictly comparing it to this restaurant in the future.

This place is great!!!! Opens at 1030am and if you can do it, self - serve mountains of meat! You don't have to ring a bell, wait, place an order, then order your limited 4 or 5 meats at a time. Here you can take a plate, walk up to the meat self serve section and grab your own meat!! As much as you can eat! Be mindful, you will be charged $10 for un eaten meats. I'm so coming back here again!

It's a smaller Korean barbecue spot in the heart of Convoy. The waiter seated me and my guest. It's a self serve which has its advantage on the portion of meat I can get. It can eliminated the waste of meat. I can get my own soft drinks. They have iced teas and couple of sodas. My favorite meat choices were waygu, short ribs, beef tongue and pork belly. They have a sauce bar, veggie options and other meat choices. The ambiance of the restaurant reminded me of a home vibes of random quotes on the wall and decors. I would say the quality of the food is great but can be better. It's still a great spot for self serve purposes.

My friend wanted KBBQ so this was the closest spot. Though there may be plenty of eatery spots, for what we were looking for, we picked correctly. AMBIANCE: Parking: It's in a plaza however you're in Convoy so it can get pretty busy so do come early if you need to prep time for parking especially during lunch and dinner hours. Seating: Inside seating, room for maybe 50 people. Great for groups. Vibes: Welcome to Convoy! There are plazas and plazas of good eats! The spot itself is simple. It's nothing too flashy just a few pictures of food and some nice positive quotes displayed around the restaurant. I dig the lite rock music. Great place for group outings or a lowkey date night. FOOD: Meats (Recommend) Wow! It's basically unlimited. The setup is unique too. I'm usually familiar with servers giving you the meats but you basically go and get it yourself - with your choice of how much you want. You have your ground, air, and seafood, enjoy! Sides (Recommend) I really can't provide any recommendations since everything is good here. However, I would try to minimize your carb intake so you have more room for meats. The miso was nice to help digest food. Also, I would recommend trying to save room for frozen yogurt. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! Friendly people and helpful! TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Lovely! Great selections, reasonable prices, and a pleasant ambiance. Would I come back here? Most certainly! However in respect I do feel like I should try the other KBBQ spots but if I get too lazy or I need a go to, then this is my spot! TIPS: * Come hungry!

Been here a couple of times ,i like its Korean BBQ buffet and that it's Self-serve, I can get as much meat as I want, and no limit on how many times I get it. The quality of the meats is just okay, flavors on marinated meats its also just okay, but that is why they have these sections of all the condiments you can use to put in your meats. Service is great, they are quick to pick up our used plates and change out the grill. Inside has many Fun Quotes to read on their wall. Parking is a challenge here too, we made a couple of rounds before we found a parking. This Korean BBQ buffet is just okay.

Pork Belly, short ribs, miso soup and japchae.

Our friends brought us here and it was AMAZING! Gloria was our server, she's very attentive and friendly. The meat is so fresh and the sides taste home made. Love the buffet style because you can grab what you eat. I love the warmth/homey feeling of the restaurant. Can't wait to come back!

My husband and I had a great time here, it has a cozy and cute vibe. The food was so delicious too, we got up to get more four times! Shoutout to our server, Andres, who was so friendly and attentive the entire time. He made sure we had everything we needed and explained the food bar well, he added to the great experience. For the price, this place is beyond worth it. If you're looking for delicious KBBQ with great service and a welcoming vibe, this is the spot. We'll definitely be back!

Ask the Community - Jeong Won Korean BBQ Buffet

I I understand the concept of Korean barbecue and diy. However, Is there an option where someone in the restaurant can cook the food and serve the table?

    We are “AYCE, self-served”

Can solo diners eat here? Was craving KBBQ a couple of weeks ago, went to three different places around Convoy, and they all had minimum two people ☹️

Of course! We accommodate everybody! Thank you so much!…

The vegi sauce in unbelievably good could we get the ingredients?

Thank you so much, Griffin! Unfortunately, it's a top secret! I hope you understand that! I apologize!

What is the price at lunch? Can't find any current prices on line. Their website is unreadable and their facebook entry is way out of date.

Sorry for the trouble! $38.95 all day long. No lunch price. Same menu throughout the day ! Thank you so much!

Do they serve alcohol? Heard they stopped stopped serving alcohol here

    Not now. Sorry

What is the cost per person?

Was there about a month ago, I'm pretty sure it was $31.99 per person.

Can up as a single diner or do I have to bring at least one other person with me?

You can go as one person! I went by myself and had a great time!

Does anyone know how much dinner is? And what the latest they seat customers on weekdays? Nothing posted on any website and no I answered their phone, goes to a full voicemail.

I went on 9/6/21 and I got charged $34.95 which is a significant increase from the last time I was here.

    Is this place open?

It's open now! Still the same self service model, no indoor dining due to COVID of course but there is outdoor seating, around 10-12 or so tables with two seats and a grill at each. Just went there yesterday and everything was just as good quality…

    How much is lunch now?

Lunch and dinner are same price... I'm not quite sure how much it is but for sure it's between $22-25 😬 with fountain drinks already... kids price differs too...

Do they offer corn cheese as a side dish?

No but they have a bunch of other veggies and kimchi pancakes

Do we need at least 2 people for a table or i can make it single?

    no limit. thank you

Do they have a different number other than what's listed ? Trying to book a reservation and it's an automated system

pls leave a message . we will call you back asap. thank you

Do they take reservations for 4 adults and 2 kids?

no reservation. first come first serve. thank you

What age group is for kids @$9?

There is a picture posted in the photos that shows pricing -it says ages 3-6 $8.95

How much is it for 5 people? we have 3 teens and 2 adults

it's about $26 per person, so about $130 plus tax and drinks.

Do they have duck meat as well?

No they dont have duck meat.

    What your prices?

25.95$ for adults, 16.95$ for kids

How much for the adults/kids price now?

    25.95

Do they have frog legs here?

Not the last few times I went. They used to.

My husband and I really enjoyed the brisket the sausage links, the potato salad and coleslaw. The tri-tip unfortunately was kinda dry and the ribs were a little tough. And the Mac and cheese were super garlicky. This bbq place is ok, it's nice and big and has a nice relaxing atmosphere. But I would stick to the brisket and hot links and the sides.

But it's softballs, not baseballs. Service is legit. Fast, friendly. They're like get in, order, get out. But we stayed for probably an hour and a half. The live music was great, not too loud. I am sad to confess the food here is not as legit as I figured based on being a San Diego local and a big DDD watcher. It probably depends on which day you come, but on Thursday, the brisket was so average. Del's in Del Cerro is better. Smoky and the Brisket is better. I had my brisket served with that nacho cheese and relish, not nearly as great as I thought it would be based on DDD. I also don't drink anymore, but if I were to have had 2-3 beers + this dinner + the enviornment I would have loved it. My son gave a huge thumbs up to his burger, daughter liked her food. If you want an experience, have time you need to kill and have kids, it's a solid spot, but in no way is this a destination if you live west of the 15. Stick to classic spots.
