Just checked in! I must say that I had a very outstanding experience at AUS airport. Parking lot is…read moreeasily visible and as soon I parked, there was a shuttle bus waiting. Once in, the driver explained the process when coming back and to write down parking location and what gates he was stopping. Ending up giving him a good tip. Once I arrived at the airport, waited until the airline employee was ready to check people in. Had the tickets already printed to it was breeze! Going to security was another positive experience. Line wasn't long (5am) and the Jet blue employee was friendly and helpful. I was at my gate in no time. My longest wait was actually waiting to board the plane at the gate!

This experience of this airport is arguably one of the worst in the US for a variety of reasons…read more It's pretty much what would happen if you replaced the huge Atlanta Hartsfield airport with a dinky structure the size of Long Beach CA airport. As a passenger, you are gonna have a bad time. Reasons: - Airport structure is too small - Constantly way past capacity with the number of passengers and staff within it. - So, not enough seating - Insufficient bathroom facilities throughout. All bathrooms are small, antiquated, crowded, hot AF, always full & therefore filthy. Can't blame cleaning staff. They have to close bathrooms just to clean them. - the heat works, but the AC doesn't work Apparently airport mgmt is fine keeping temps at 79 and 80 degrees. Add in crowds of passengers who have to take a leak or an urgent dump, and yes, everywhere is on edge, sweating their sacks off. This is one of the worst aspects that they refuse to address/fix. - the California granolas they allow to sing and play guitar badly only adds insult to injury If you can avoid it for another 5 years, until it's expanded, then do so.

I…read moreleave nothing to chance when it comes to dealing with airport security & logistics snafus that can add uncertainty to getting on the plane on time. The hidden benefit is that I often have lots of extra time to stroll the concourse, get some steps in & blood flow going, and check out the interesting innovations, public art installations, and local flavor of the airports on my itinerary. Imagine my delight to find this little pocket of whimsy at the east end of the Barbara Jordan Terminal near Gate 14 (as if you're headed toward Delta and the Public Patio). The first indication of mystery is the infinity symbol on an overhead sign that would otherwise name a vendor or amenity. I simply had to stop & check it out. Procedure: Look at all the creative decor and signage. Smile. Step up to the kiosk, answer the questions, and generate your boarding pass (only virtual now, after originally being printable). Imagine yourself phasing through the physical barriers of reality into a different dimension of space & time! Verdict: Fun for all ages of folks with a good imagination, sense of humor, and decent reading habit in the sci-fi and fantasy genre. Cost: Zero dollars and just a few moments of time. Worth it!

I've typically had good flight experiences at jetBlue. The only exception was when I got stuck in…read morethe air around the Gulf of Mexico for an extra 3 hours or so due to technical mechanical difficulties...that forced me to arrive at a whole other airport in my destination city of Houston.I will note in advance I am also a former employee. My most recent flight from Austin to New York was pretty good. I arrived a couple of hours early. I was able to check in before online on the app. I still needed to drop off a bag however. The crew members in Austin were all smiles and nice warm and welcoming energy for it being 4:00 AM. We made some small talk as they took my bag and then directed me to head to the TSA security line. The TSA security at this hour had 2 people in front of me. The whole process took about 5 minutes. There was plenty of food options open and available which was nice. My gate at this hour wasn't packed. There isn't a lot of outlets or even wireless charging stations at the gate in Austin. Boarding my flight went smoothly. The onboard service was attentive and done with a smile. There's extra snacks, pillows, alcohol you can buy. The jetBlue experience is a definite go! Please note there is not first class or fancy bells and whistles like the larger airlines, but jetBlue is pretty good at being he best in the lane they compete in.
