I've been going to Sigy's for several years now. Thier diagnosis on problems is spot on and repair cost are very resonable. They repaired my converitlbe top twice and while it was on the lift the last time, found a major oil leak. They fixed that and now no more oil spots in my garage! They also trouble shot my SMG transmission when my car refused to move. It turned out to be the hydraulic pump, which is actually in the engine compartment by the drivers' fender and not in the tranny. Any other repair shop would have sold me a new tranny but Mike is an honest man so the repair was less complex and cheaper. I trust them with my 2005 E45 3330 CiC to the extendt that noone else works on that car. Thank you Sigy's. read more

Came here a while back to get some work done on the car after hearing back from the stealerships diagnosis. Received an estimate from Mike and then after giving my car the shop did its own diagnostic and came back with a new quote almost 30% higher than the original estimate! I have no problem with this, as I understand things can be discovered on a play by play basis. Regardless, I decided not to go with the service here and called back to see if I could get my car back. As soon as I asked if I could pick up the car, I got a "NO! NOT NOW! BUSY! CANT PUT COVERS ON NOW" ....well ok thats fine I can pick up the car and covers separately and install them when I get home. Then the guy yells at me asking "WHO DID YOU FIND THAT WILL DO A BETTER JOB THAN ME?!" and slams the phone.. I picked up my car only to hear "YOU OWE ME $110"...I paid and cannot be more sure that I will NEVER be coming back. Only reason I gave two stars is because It seems as though the work done here is decent, but customer service is an obvious sinkhole at this shop. Found a much better and extremely polite BMW garage nearby. read more

I recently discovered Sigy's Service Center after living in the DMV area for almost 3 years. I have experienced a few other bad BMW service centers in the area. I took my car to Sigy to have a clutch replaced shortly after dropping off he called to let me know the car needed something else. He gave me a run down of what was going on and what was needed, he also gave me a very reasonable price. It was reassuring to hear how knowledgable Sigy is when it comes to these cars. He was not trying to sell me something the car did not need (many times the case with service centers). Not only did they replace what was broke they replaced what made sense while they were in there (i.e. belts and pulleys). They also saved the worn parts to show me exactly what was going on. I am relieved to have found a knowledgeable and honest BMW mechanic in the DC area. I hope this review will help others discover Sigy's Service Center. read more

I wouldn't let Sigy's even tie my shoes, let alone touch my car again. I had used them for my E30 and they were great, but I always dealt with his son. Seven years later I went back for my 5 series. Sigy was insult and condescending. When I brought the car in I asked for an estimate for a general tune up, he quoted me $250 in labor (I supplied the parts) because he said I had to adjust the valves every 6,000-12,000 miles. He said ready tomorrow. I handed the keys over. After that I told him I was a disabled veteran in our conversation. When this was made know, Sigy's professionalism went out the door. He called me a Fuc**** idiot and a number of other choice names. Given my past experience with the shop and his son, I chalked it up to him having a bad day. When I called the next day it was not ready and he commenced with his cursing and insults again about America, Americans and the military. The following day, I picked it up with a $540 bill. He did not break the valve cover open and adjust the valves as stated. He only replaced my spark plugs. He took my old grimy spark plugs and threw them on my dashboard and driver's seat. The distributor cap, wires, rotor and points were not replaced. I paid the bill just to get my car out of there as soon as possible. The car was not dripping or leaking anything when I brought it in. On top of not doing what he said, the insults and extortion, I discovered over the next day that I now had a cut in my power steering line and more than one gas leak. Run, do not walk from this place. Look around on the web and you'll see mine is not an isolated case. He is arrogant, abusive, dishonest and anti American. read more

My Mini-Cooper had a series of dash warning lights and a clutch that I know needs to be replaced. They cleared the warning lights since no warnings were active and checked the clutch. Clutch was worn but not in immediate need of replacement. I thought this was a fair and reasonable approach. I can't say enough good things about Sigy's. Not only were they extremely friendly, the service was 2nd to none. The mechanic that worked on my 325xi was knowledgeble, friendly and right on target with my problem. I had my car serviced for the same problem at a couple of other places in Bethesda and not only paid WAY TOO MUCH but the problem was never fixed. For 15min farther away from Bethesda it was the perfect place to have my car worked on. I don't know why other reviews listed Sigy's as rude or impolite because I had an excellent experience. Moved into the area recently and needed a local BMW mechanic for my 2003 525i, a Hans and Franz type place. Went to Sigy's for a oil change, 3rd brake lightbulb replacement and to check a fluid leak. Sigy is the owner, his wife handles the office and his son, Mike, I think, is a mechanic. It was a Monday holiday and I called to make an appointment and the wife told me just to come in. The son basically asked me to hang around while he worked on my car; he said they use BMW oil. I admit I wasn't sure it was synthetic but BMW only specifies synthetic oil. The brake light was more difficult as the bulb was fused to the socket. He lifted the car & removed the chin plate to check for the fluid leak; he tightened a joint to see if that was the leak source. The total charge was $82 (a synthetic oil/filter change is normally $100 at any place). This wasn't a difficult job so I can't judge, but I liked the experience. They only take cash or check; I had neither so I mailed them a check a day later. Nice to do business with . . . Another Visit (02/2013) The dad, Sigy, is a bit of crank . . . I mentioned Mike's back problem could be tough to fix .. . Sigy's said "Are you a doctor" sarcastically, but I didn't take it personally. He was watching TV on his laptop in German, so the fatherland is still in his blood. read more

Sigy's is the best place to take your BMW for service bar none, especially an M variant. Sigy has been working on BMW's forever and he knows them better than anyone. I own an E46 M3 and have literally taken it everywhere in the DC area that claims they are BMW service centers, but all I get is high bills and poor vehicle service. At Sigy's he himself diagnoses the problem and fixes it in no time at a fraction of the cost. His personality may seem abrasive to some but he is actually very funny and nice once you get to know him. Any other accusations that he is a "con artist" or a "rip off" is bogus. read more

I have never seen a more unprofessional auto mechanic. Sigy from the beginning was arrogant, sarcastic and spoke to me as though he thought I was an idiot. His first words to me was "Get that junk off of your car", referring to the $120 bike rack that I had on my trunk. After I did that, he went in my car and kept saying, "Oh my God, Oh my God," like he couldn't handle the problem (the problem being a flashing light in the car indicating my convertible top wasn't working). I asked him what was wrong and he says, "Everything's broken". Uh, thanks, that's why I'm here. He doesn't speak to me for 15 minutes after that, just walks back and forth, and eventually I say, "So, what's going on?" just conversationally. He explodes... "What's going on?? I'm getting tools to fix your car. Is that OK??? My convertible top works fine. Yours doesn't." I stand up to leave, and he calls me an asshole and says I wasted his time (10 minutes of him walking around looking for a tool, versus a 40 minute drive for me to get to his place). I don't care HOW good he is, he can't be the only German in the DC area who knows things about a BMW. Save your money... there's enough drama in this area, no need to add more. read more

Brought in my E46 M3 for a service after reading about Sigys on yelp, bmw forums etc. Needed a few routine items -radiator flush, brake fluid, few belts. Really like them.
