I'm happy to say this is a trustworthy place that charges very reasonably and is priced better than other repair shops in the Rockville area (yes I actually compared). I've had my oil change done here in under an hour and now I'm currently having a few filters replaced. I did a walk in around 9:36 AM today (essentially my only free day) which was nice since they really just accommodated based on my scheduling needs. I would recommend paying cash or debit card to prevent Any additionally charges using a credit card. Otherwise, I'm very happy with their customer service, affordability and honesty. WFA was started by Juan and ALWAYS provided honest, solid work. Since he sold it, I have lost faith. The last two times I brought my 2009 Honda CRV in I specifically asked, "Please do a total overall check and let me know what is needed so it well and safely." The last time it was in, just a month or so ago, I asked if all is well, it's good to go, etc. BUT this weekend we found one of the brake pads completely gone - having it towed to a different shop now. Per my ask, WFA should have seen the pad was low and let me know. That's what I asked for and, Juan, would ALWAYS tell me; "This needs to be done now or you've still got some time." The new owners just say you can't predict what's going to happen. Sure, but break pads?!?? That should be obvious. Will no longer be bringing any of our cars to WFA. Wanted to put this update here, as I think it's relevant and could be useful. I had them change my timing belt on my 1997 Civic. My previous timing belt lasted 13 years and over 75k miles, and I replaced before it broke; the one White Flint Auto put in lasted about 5 years and 25k miles before breaking. That's a rather large disparity in age and mileage. While the interaction with them was great and the price was good, I suspect the timing belt used was not great quality. read more

I just moved to Md and needed to get both of my cars inspected. They were able to do both back to back, were done in less than two hours (others quoted four hours for one car), and were very reasonably priced ($90 compared to other quotes I got around $120 and $130). They even helped me install my windshield wipers because they were damaged and I needed to replace them to pass the inspection. Will consider them for other services now too! read more

After other auto repair shops tried to scam me, I came here bc of all the stellar Yelp reviews and was not disappointed. I got my cabin and engine air filters changed for $100 including both parts and labor, which was the cheapest out of all the places I called. They were also extremely courteous, professional, and efficient both on the phone and in-person. I got the air filter change done even faster than they estimated over the phone -- I was in and out in 15-20 minutes. Never felt like they were trying to get more money out of me either. I would not advise anyone to go there!! I took my car for inspection and had the worse experience ever. I dropped it at their shop and when I returned, they told me the muffler was leaking. Driving off the muffler fell to the ground and when I returned to them to fix it, they told me it was hanging by a thread, mind you never had problems with the muffler before dropping my car in their shop, and that there isn't anything they can do for me. They removed instead of fixing it and he left it on the ground next to my car and told me all he would do is put it in the car and I can take it or leave it dumped there and that there was nothing else he could do for me. Rudest employee, worst service ever and it felt like a scam to bring you in, break your car apart so they offer to fix it with jacked up prices. STAY AWAY FROM THE PLACE!!!! read more

I absolutely dread going to the Toyota dealer for anything auto-related as the reps try to oversell you on all the maintenance your car needs, but White Flint Auto Repair is focused on pinpointing what your exact issue is. Their principles for honesty, transparency and integrity are what keep me coming. I've completed the Maryland Safety Inspection here (for $90). I was in and out, which was a relief. I've also come here for another issue, which White Flint Auto Repair went above and beyond in trying to resolve. Although they couldn't identify what was causing the exact issue, they did not charge for the time and labor spent in trying to isolate the issue. Honest, professional and top-notch service. They do a great job on repairs but, what sets them apart from other auto repair shops is they won't sell you work you don't need. As an example, my car was displaying an error code suggesting I needed some expensive service. Rather than do the work and stick me with a big bill, they investigated and determined it was a false reading -- NO CHARGE! Wowzer. Fast efficient and reasonably priced. These guys are fantastic. For the past 3 years we had a problem with a stuck drivers seat that would not move. Took the car to a number of places and nobody could fix it for under $1,500. They fixed it perfectly, performed an oil change, changed out weak bulbs, tuned the car for less than a normal oil change. Biggest thing of all everyone I met there was extremely nice and made me feel at ease. I used to get jealous when out of state friends shared that they had a reliable, affordable, and fair mechanic they regularly go to. But I've now found mine! Duane was amazingly helpful and honest! My car had been giving me issues and a different shop told me it would cost $1000 to fix a few exhaust problems. Not only did White Flint Auto fix the exhaust problems but they also fixed other more major problems that they discovered -- and cost of all the repairs was hundreds less than what the other car shop was going to charge just for exhaust. And as a bonus, when driving home I saw they even fixed my chair panel that has been detached for years. I will definitely be using White Flint Auto for all my future car care and repair needs. All the other reviewers got it right. This is a great place. They welded the broken pipe to my muffler. Not cheap, but fair. Waiting room comfortable, the TV was turned way low. Job completed, I asked them to take a look at my air compressor, to see if they could figure out why the nozzle wouldn't seat correctly on the tire valve. They immediately identified the problem, and fixed it using the nozzle from a broken bike pump that the owner had in his truck. A mechanic spliced the thing together, turning it into a work of improvised art. How much? I asked. 'Nothing," said the owner. Added the mechanic, "We just love fixing things." read more

I have had to deal with several underhanded mechanics in the past. When I first moved to Maryland I had my inspections. The first mechanic I went to said it would be around $2500 to replace failing break lines etc. I had just had my car inspected in PA, so I knew they weren't bad.
