They worked quickly, charged a very fair price, and were incredibly easy and pleasant to work with. What really stood out was that they also took care of a few other minor cosmetic issues, no questions asked, just to make sure the car was in great shape for the lease return. I'm a new customer and I needed a simple headlight bulb replacement, and I was drawn to this business because of the high ratings and was not disappointed. I did call the business first and they were quick to answer the phone, and they said they could do the job and asked for the make and model so that they could contact their supplier and would call me back. The next day, while I hadn't heard back yet, I dropped by the business anyway, because I was at the library nearby. Ramon greeted me and I explained the issue, and they were able to find the part and replaced the bulb quickly on the spot, and I was done in less than 10 minutes! Florencia of Duramax is a scam. She destroyed my vehicle by not properly fixing the body and engine damage from an accident. I had to sue her in Montgomery County circuit court. Go to Mdcourt.gov and type in Duramax. The case # was C-15-CV-23000278. I eventually had to total the vehicle which cost me over $14,000 to pay off the loan. STAY AWAY FROM DURAMAX!!! Florencia scammed me, committed insurance fraud and left me with a defective car. Rather than owning up to her mistake, she hired a lawyer to try and defend her scam. Just a terrible business, don't believe her. Ask her about the lawsuit and she will give you an excuse but go to the court documents and see what really happened. read more

These people are magicians. Some yahoo sideswiped my car while trying to evade the police. I decided to just have the whole car repainted, and fix all of the little scratches and such. The owner talked me out of it, and told me it would look brand new. She was not lying! I literally walked right by it and she had to tell that it was my car. Honestly, I will never go anywhere else. Flor and the awesome people of Duramax truly saved the day and helped me get back on the road at a very difficult time. I could not be more grateful and had to write a review to let others know how trustworthy and helpful Duramax has been. I slid on black ice in Sliver Spring and ended up with some fairly severe front-end damage. Discovering that it would be an "at fault incident" and my monthly insurance payment would double I knew I had to somehow get the car repaired myself. I am a full-time student and take care of my mother who suffers from Alzheimer's dementia and also work part-time at a local pre-school teaching art...I NEED A CAR!! I called 4 different body shops after taking it to Firestone who said they couldn't touch it until I have the body damage repaired. 3 of the body shops said they were on a 1 to 2-week wait and another said they would not work on my car unless I was going through insurance for repairs. Luckily one of the body shops that were busy gave me the number to Duramax. Flor (the owner) took my call and took the time to listen to me and to what happened and tuned into my situation immediately, she said I could have towed to Duramax that day and they could possibly start the work right away. I was grateful but full of anxiety and fear and couldn't shake the feeling that I had no control over what was happening and there wasn't much I could do to make it any better. Flor and the staff at Duramax completely surprised me! I have never dealt with any auto repair company that is so open and transparent about everything. We went through every part that was needed or recommended, the cost, and the labor, and everything was thoroughly explained to me. They were even able to give me a better deal on a new radiator and fan than Firestone quoted! With Duramax, I was able to choose only the things I needed to get back on the road. Then Duramax and the staff surprised me again and let me know that they found a deal on a bumper and have the other few parts left to install ready for me when I am ready and have the funds! I will always recommend Duramax for any bodywork and auto repair! It really is a one-stop-shop and I have never experienced such a helpful and honest auto group. My '07 CTS started having power and electrical issues as I was preparing to drive back to TEXAS. Yeah-- it's a long drive back to work, but it was worth coming home to DC where I grew up. I called and made an appointment NYD and they accepted my car even though it was a weekend. Then, the car broke down on 16th St. NW on the way to the shop. Thanks to my sister Sasha and AAA, I was able to get the car there a bit later than originally planned. Still, they were courteous and professional. They ended up replacing the battery first-- then the alternator went out as well. I have a skeptical and suspicious nature, and do not quickly praise anyone, especially not a repair service. Duramax has earned my trust by repeatedly demonstrating they: a) know what they are doing, and b) take their work seriously, I mean, they demand of themselves that they do what is right even when the client doesn't know the difference. Most recently I took in a car for some body work (dented door, fender, scratches, and lots of paint work). They could have just done what the order from the insurance company said. Instead, they figured out how to save money on silly stuff, and to spend their time making older damage look good. The result: the car looks like new, and I'll avoid rust problems down the line. The shop doesn't look like much and it would be easy to pass them by. Appearances can be deceiving. These guys are really good. read more

I had a great experience getting my shattered front bumper fixed here in February 2015. We hit a snow drift during one of this year's many snowstorms and the front right-hand side was badly broken along with the windshield washer fluid container behind it. Duramax fixed it in the promised timeframe and for a reasonable price. I went to 3 local body shops for quotes and they were the lowest, with a good quality replacement bumper. Their front desk woman was very friendly and communicated well by the phone and in person. I got rides to/from the place with them since my car was unavailable, which worked well. They even gave the car back to me nicely washed looking better than it had in a long time! read more

Duramax is a joke of a body shop. I would give them 0 stars if I could. We had a broken passenger side mirror on our 2014 Honda Accord. Easy fix, right? Wrong; not with the clowns working at Duramax. Flo, the owner of the shop is completely untrustworthy. She lied to us every step of the way. First, she ordered the wrong mirror (which we had to pay for up front and later was considered as a deposit for the new one) and blamed it on my wife for telling her the wrong information. She said," This is why we want people to bring in the car." She never told us to bring in the car, only took the information over the phone. This started an almost comical series of events. They botched every part of this process. They ordered the wrong mirror again(driver's side instead of passengers side). They failed to install the mirror's camera calibration(after we TOLD them the computer may need to be checked or reset), so when we got it back, it didn't work. We sent it back to them but now that the mirror is finally fixed, our Bluetooth mysteriously doesn't work. It worked fine before then. They consistently were off on A)How much the mirror would cost (by hundreds of dollars) when B) parts would arrive (by days), B) when they would pick up the car, (by multiple hours) and C) when it would be done (off by multiple hours) and D) how long they would the mirror would take to install (told us 30 minutes, and then 3 hours, and then 30 minutes again) They were terrible with communication. They rarely contacted during this process to update us about anything. Whenever we called them, the owner Flo would say," Oh I was just going to call you." How convenient. If we had never given them money for the original mirror, we would have left the shop sooner. We were afraid they wouldn't give us our money back which is why reluctantly had to stay with them. I had to tell one of their workers (after being 1 hour and 1/2 late for a pick-up time), that if they couldn't pick up the car within the next half hour to de-install the mirror and give us our money back. Fortunately for them, they showed up in the next 20 minutes. As with most businesses, I 'm sure they are competent people working there, and the workers themselves are generally pretty nice. However, when a routine job such as installing a mirror is this challenging, I would not trust these guys with a basic oil change, forget anything more complicated. **Update** I spoke with the manager about what transpired with regards to our car. She was very courteous to me while she explained how she had tried to help and why everything went sideways. I understood her rationale, but as I explained, it was still very frustrating while it was happening. She agreed that this was just a problem that just kept snowballing. After speaking with her, I can tell that she does care about her clients. I will not be going back, but I can understand where she was coming from. read more
