Love this park! It's beautiful, large and full of a variety of activities. Walking trails, horse…read moretrails, lakes, train ride (center weekends of the month for kids), a bee sanctuary too and more! We went this weekend for their fall festival and what a treat! Hounce houses, photo opportunities, pumpkin patch, pig races, hayrides and more! The kids and us had a blast. With the overwhelming amount of people that came, it never felt so crowded that you could not participate in what you wanted. Some lines, but not always. It was pretty well organized too. Props to the staff on that! The day was beautiful,and we got through everything we wanted to in the 3 hours we were there!

What the glasses did was that it added a figure to the lights. My glasses had snowman and if I moved they moved with me. It was cool. The snowman were everywhere. My son got candy cane. It was the same experience. The staff seemed to be enjoying themselves. Some really got into the holiday spirit. Everyone was very cheerful here. It was a happy atmosphere. I was glad I came.

A well kept course, and fun to play…read more I hadn't played Markham before, but I've wanted to since I first saw it years ago while driving through Markham. I was there for a bike thing, but I made note it was there Last week I was to play with some friends and I said let's make the trek out west to Markham. It's always fun to try a new course. we got there at the early hour of 830. Plenty of people in line to get in, but most were for off-road biking. When we got to the course(far back right) there was only one more group starting off. After a couple warm ups we were were off. A couple water holes early but that was it for the agua. After that there were other tough holes in woods, but the back 9 was mostly open. The course had a nice layout, it never overlapped itself like I've seen a couple times lately. There were a few holes that gave a chance at a birdie for us amateurs which is always a plus. We all ended with decent scores, and the we could definitely do better on the next time. We will have to make it back soon to see if we can actually back that up.

Park amenities include a shade covered playground, covered basketball court, three sports fields, concession stand, dog run, exercise path, and disc golf. There is also a building that can be rented for meetings, special events, classes, and private parties. There is a plenty of parking for the recreational leagues. I was surprised at how nicely kept this park is. On the day I visited there were several teams using the fields, a group of people enjoying the shade covered basketball courts, and another group playing disc golf. I walked around for exercise and checked out the wildlife near the water. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again but if you live in the neighborhood this is a wonderful recreational amenity to have.

They have a concession stand that is open during games that takes cash only. The park is kept pretty clean and the bathrooms are usually decent enough to use for a public park. There is plenty of parking in the lot. Most of the people that use this park either live in the neighborhood or just take their kids there for games etc. It's an ok park nothing special really.

But even when we came we would do just the one other course at the park called trade Winds Disc course. We Finally started going to "Trade Woods Disc Course" about a month or two ago. We had heard it was alot tougher so had been avoiding it. When we finally did play the rumors were confirmed true, it was tougher. A hand full of the holes are going right through the woods. But its a nice course layout. Some challenging holes for sure, but with a bit of accuracy it wasn't a big deal. There is a nicely placed practice basket near the front too that I ended up using a couple times so far to practice all kinds of shots. It's a great park, and the only one in South Florida with 2 courses!

Its nice for me and others who want to hit the park extra early as its open at at least 7am, while most state parks don't open till 8am. Last week I came for my third round of disc at this course. Plenty of people have told me its one of the better courses in South Florida but I have only really played Broward courses. Last time I played this course it rained the whole time so not great. But this was a fine day. Getting there about 730am beat the crowd, big time. Even after warming up putting, I was the only car in the parking lot. And away I went. Its a nice course with white and red tees. I had a nice round, and I can see why it has a good reputation. It draws a good crowd at the park at the other areas, especially the Remote control(RC) areas. Plenty of planes up in the air. Its a great park, well worth the drive out West.

There are a lot of other things available here to do. You can have a nice picnic or actually primitive camp here too with a permit. But thats everyday these days in Florida. The course is well taken care of. It's a city park with plenty of other activities going on from cookouts to people jogging to playground stuff. As courses go its got a wide open layout. You can see the hole/basket from the tee box. With the wide open spaces its a very tough course to lose a disc(unless you throw it in the water). Which I did, on the 4th hole. They have 3 water holes and I found the water on one of them. The good news is it was a floating frisbee so I got it back 30 minutes later when it floated into shore. Plantation is definitely one of the better courses in south Florida. It's nice to be on one and feel like you won't lose a disc

The kiddie water park is named Cypress Marsh Splash Pad was not in use today. Visited here today with my wife and had a good experience and was satisfied with the cleanliness of the park.

The half mile walking trail was nice with butterflies flying around. The bathroom was very clean with a maintenance woman working inside. Yesterday we decided to truck down there to see what it was all about. Honestly, I've never seen something so beautiful....and just for dogs! It had this big Shady Lake where the dogs could play and go swimming. My dog WANTS to swim (he even has webbed feet!) but because he's a pitbull, he sinks. I recently bought him a life preserver and I thought this might be a game changer for him, and it was. He had the time of his life running with the other dogs and swimming! Besides it's beauty, there's two locked fences to keep your dog from escaping the area. And further across the park is one of the nicest and largest dog parks I have ever seen! After he swam for about an hour I took him over there to hose off the lake water and just let him run around until he was dry. We will definitely be going back to this park because I believe he had the time of his life. And the best part? It was free! I have heard the weekends are insane with crowds. I was glad that we were able to go during the week. So if you decide to take your pup during the week, maybe I'll see you there! I will let these pictures do the talking as you can see how happy he is! I wish they had one of these up near us in Palm Beach County. But like I said it wasn't a bad drive and it will not deter us from returning!

He gets hot, so I wanted to go in the morning on an overcast day. There's so much conflicting information about the hours and locations for all the dog beaches, I thought I'd start here. It was recommended on Reddit. BEST recommendation ever! First of all, where the dogs play is mostly shaded. From what I read, it's a man-made lagoon. The water is beautiful. You can see the bottom as you enter the water. At first, Teddy was a little hesitant to get in, but there were so many other dogs there, he just wanted to play. There are poop bags there if you need them. There's also a bench-style table to sit at. Teddy had a blast! Be sure to bring some water shoes. The beach/ground is riddled with small rocks, so walking barefoot isn't necessarily comfortable. I wore slides, and it was good. After I let Teddy play, we walked in the park so he could dry off. They have a nice shaded path. They also have a Disc Golf Course. What is that you asked? I wondered the same thing. I didn't see anyone playing, but I did see the Disc catchers scattered throughout. They also have a volleyball section with beach sand. Oh yeah, they have a pretty cool butterfly garden. No dogs allowed in there, but the butterflies were flying all over that area, so I was able to see a few. Overall, it's a really nice park. I'll probably go back tomorrow.

Something about being out in the nature, getting some fresh air, and seeing different animals calms my mind and my heart. It feelings healing in a way. Yes I would recommend this place to others and will be back again in the future! This park has pavilions you can rent for parties and celebrations. They also have a fitness zone where you can work out. There are playgrounds where kids can run around as well.

I got there as they opened, 8am on the weekends. The course starts on the far end of the park so you get to take in the park on the way there. Ducks and geese love this place. They are all over the place. The lake that takes up the middle of the park is postcard perfect. You can't really blame the birds for liking it. When we play the course it gives you a chance to see alot of the park. The course covers almost everything east to west. One of the really neat things is the burrowing owl really likes this park. They are located at at least 4 spots I have been by. They are unique not just for nesting underground, but that they have alot of attitude. There is one couple of birds that are the 16th tee box who hiss at you while you play. Including the bird encounters, Its a great park, whether disc golfing, or bird spotting.
