Sad day in buffet history. This was one of my favorite buffets to visit and it has taken a huge fall from grace. From food, to display, to staff, and so much more, this once incredible buffet has become a mere shell of its self. The food choices were less than favorable, the staff really didn't care, and it was very underwhelming. We used to be so excited to come here and enjoy the main course, salad bar, desserts, and more, but now some of the stuff seemed like slop that they just threw together. The clam chowder was thick and heavy and left me questioning what and who made it. I remember the days of Dungeness Crab and everything was delicious and well appointed. Maybe one day they can return to greatness, but as of now, they need some serious work. Please take this review as a token of love, as my family and I have had plenty of good meals here. I was totally disappointed in this buffet! I never visited this one pre-Covid so I can't tell you if it slid after Covid or has always been this way, but it is rock bottom. I paid $56 before tip for 1 adult and 1 child for less than 50 options from a buffet; counting salad bar and dessert bar as one option each. Honestly I have enjoyed Golden Corral more than this one. The limited food options would have been okay, if the food had been good, but it wasn't. The prime rib was a cheap cut with large chunks of fat and gristle. The bacon wrapped tenderloin was presented in gravy making it soggy and the bacon was undercooked. The shrimp cocktail was served directly on ice, which would be okay, but they have so much of it and such slow turn that the shrimp got soggy from the melting ice. My one star goes to the fry bread. They had it and it's nearly impossible to find it anywhere. The service was meh at best. They bring you the silverware and cups but our server didn't see our occupied table flag, so we had to wait for it after going through the buffet. Lots of servers doing something but not a lot of paying attention to new tables being seated. Very disappointed and won't be back or recommending this place. read more

Legit the worst buffet I've ever been to. First off, the selection isn't that great. Second, the food was cold and undercooked. My husband and I each got some of the bacon wrapped filet, and they were completely raw on the inside, I'll eat steak on mid rare to medium, but this was still blue on the inside. The only time I've ever seen steak like that is when we buy it raw from the store. Also, the bacon wasn't cooked, and definitely am not about to eat raw pork. Our waiter, Jon, was nice and the robots bussing tables were cool, but those were literally the only redeeming qualities. read more

When I arrived I asked the hostest for a menu. Her response was " I will read it to you and I cant let you go look at it." The menu sounded ok it was $29.00 so I thought it cant be all bad. I ordered Herbal tea and the mug had lipstick on it. instead of taking everything back, Honey, lemon, and tea bag which was on the same plate he brought me a fresh mug. The food was straight out of the freezer and box. The deserts were frozen and generic. There was some kind of bar with indian fry bread etc. I couldn't see anything. Service was very uncomfortable , they had no personality. The soda machine had no ice & they soft drink were watered down . They didn't serve the food they advertised . Three of us had the buffet on a Saturday night before going to the comedy show. None of us think it was worth the $37 dollar price tag. The fry bread however was fresh and wonderful. I wish I'd have read the reviews here *before* going. I didn't think the prices were unreasonable until we got inside and started eating. this is a small buffet, which is not inherently a bad thing. But the food is bad. BAD. Every employee that we interacted with was kind and lovely and helpful. I just can't get past how awful the food was. Bland, overcooked to the point of us spitting some things out into a napkin. There were not a lot of options, and some things that had to be served by an employee but there was no one there to serve it. It must also be noted that SEVERAL of the plates we grabbed to put our food on were obviously dirty, with old bits of food still on them, lipstick marks on a cup and silverware that were questionably "clean" at best. read more

We came for the Friday seafood buffet at about 2:30 for a late lunch. We enjoyed the Dungeness crab the most. Large crab, perfectly cooked and delicious. The prime rib was medium to medium rare and tender. The Cocktail shrimp were decent sized and flavorful. Loved the tiny clams and mussels. We came for the seafood and were not disappointed. They had a nice selection of other foods and a good variety of desserts. I enjoyed a toffee blondie. Husband enjoyed the Marionberry cobbler with some ice cream. we just went there yesterday (June09) really looking forward to enjoy the buffet that we came to love so much over the years and had been telling everyone to give it a try whenever they go down there. I walked away in total sadness after tasting the food and witnessed a total change of everything. layout, selection, taste, atmosphere were totally gone. I did not force myself to finish the food and never went back for seconds. Another customer ahead of us told one of the supposed to be cook that there was something swimming inside the sauce of one of the salads. The cook was pointing out to another cook/server about it and they were trying to determine whether to scoop it away or to take the whole dish away. good thing they took it away. Never having been to Chinook Winds Casino, we heard the Buffet was open for sit down dinner and decided to give it a try. AYCE but served by staff behind plexiglass and very clean. The Prime Rib was excellent. Well marbled, a thick cap and sliced rare to well according to your preference. Pork Chops, Halibut, Baked Chicken, Shrimp, Clam Chowder, Pasta and Sausage, Salad, Olives, Cheese etc. All the food was fresh, seasoned and displayed well. Most impressive was the staff. My family and I came here for dinner on 7/4/21 and the food has improved since pre covid. The prime rib was a little under cooked almost Raw. But everything else was great. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family, and will definitely eat here again in the future. read more

Day two of eating at the buffet. We said we wouldn't come back after the first night as the selection was horrible. We thought that the seafood night would be better as it's my husbands favorite and said on the menu that they would have prime rib which is my favorite. Corned beef is definitely not prime rib! Very disappointing for me. So leftover pot roast for me. The seafood consisted of salmon drowned in a red sauce, small snow crab, mussels, breaded oysters, and heavily breaded shrimp. The macaroni and cheese was dried out, day two with only legs, thighs and wings for chicken. Breast meat must cost too much. Low budget selection. Not worth the $22 a piece. Ok....I used to really like coming here. People were pleasant...it's buffet food, not like a Vegas casino, but solid. We came at the beginning of our vacation for breakfast. Wow. It was like a different place. Corn dogs? I figured well brunch is not their thing. So we came back tonight. Never again. It was exactly as someone else described, like high school cafeteria food. Corn dogs. Waffle sticks. Hours old pork sandwiches. Fish they call salmon that is clearly NOT. FRY BREAD WAS PREMADE, COLD. Chicken nuggets. One of the staff was carving while screaming about the heat. I mean...screaming. then a manager comes to our section and loudly says "close this section down and get out of here." Hmmmmm. Thanks. I feel welcome. Never again. This is why non Vegas gaming fails. Poor quality food... poor service... no idea about the service high rollers expect. Didn't want to go after reading Yelp reviews, but then decided to try and see myself. There's PLENTY of food and it's not bad at all. Actually it was pretty good. Based on food alone, it would be 5 *s from me. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because their people aren't trained to handle food. There was a fugly long black hair in mac & cheese so I alerted one of their guys. He tried to fish it out with a spoon, spent good 30 seconds trying, but ultimately failed so he just used his fingers. :D Took forever to get our drinks and we never got any refills - ended up drinking all my wife's soda. read more

Maybe it was because it was New Year's Eve, but the food at the Siletz Bay Buffet was tasteless, cold and over-priced on 12/31/2021. The prime rib had no flavor and the crab legs were overdone and not fresh. Even the desserts weren't good. The apples in the apple pie were crunchy as in not completely cooked. The Boston Cream pie was partially frozen. The poppy seed cake tasted stale. For $30 apiece, a much better meal can be found in many Lincoln City restaurants. read more

I usually don't go into a buffet expecting excellent food but this was just bad...when we got in line there was one person ahead of us and 3-4 employees standing at the front counter, only 1 was actually working. It took about 5 minutes to get to the front to pay, the lady working had absolutely no personality, she should not be the first impression of this place. They tried to seat us at a table that was so close to another table that we couldn't even sit at one of the sides...the food options were pathetic; a couple Mexican options that looked like cat food, prime rib that had no flavor, fried shrimp, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, stir fry and fry bread station that never had anyone at to cook it, small salad bar with tiny plates or larger hot plates, and desserts (these were the best part of the buffet) when all is said and done it is definitely not a $30 buffet. Who enjoys being disappointed at the outset after paying up front for a casino buffet? My routine is to ask the greeters if I may walk inside to peruse the offerings. They always say yes, and I informally evaluate what looks good and whether the variety, appearance and aromas are worth pursuing. Siletz Bay Buffet in Chinook Winds Casino is an oval dining room, seemingly small in seating capacity, but roomy enough between tables so that navigating plate-in-hand from the spread will not result in a collision requiring cleanup on Aisle 5. Beelining to the carving station, two rib roasts awaited, one cooked medium-well to well-done, the other medium-rare. Both were crusted with a cracked-peppercorn rub, and emitted juices when carved. On another cutting board was a salmon fillet that appeared free of artificial coloring; also cooked too long to be appetizing. A stir-fry station offered sauces (marinara, Alfredo, pesto) and sliced vegetables to create custom-ordered pasta combinations, also crepes and scampi. Sides were appealing, and mashed potatoes with chunks of skin-on spuds were the most tempting. Across the way was the salad bar, featuring whole hard-boiled eggs, real bacon bits and shredded parmesan cheese. Soups were clam chowder (an Oregon staple) and tomato bisque. I was sold, so went ahead and had a great dinner, although yummy-looking hot wings were tepid and bland, and a taste of mushroom vegetarian lasagna was pleasant but not a highlight. The table attendant, carver and stir-fry chef were standouts of service. Buffet desserts are seldom thrilling, but chocolate-bottom macaroon cookies were not only tasty, they were worthy of rolling up several into a paper napkin and absconding with for later consumption in the motel room. read more

Five day family vacation with family from L. A. and a friend from Portland in tow, we saw some of the food pics on the Web site and figured we'd add this buffet to our rounds while on the coast. Our clan of six arrived for a five o clock-ish dinner buffet. Paid and were seated at our table. The servers were great, taking our drink orders, keeping water glasses full, bringing refills and taking used plates. We don't gamble (not because I have anything against it, I just prefer to blow all my money and have at least something left to show for it) but it immediately became clear at first pass that the odds here were not ever in my favor. The good: the prime rib was passable, maybe even decent. Flavors were nice and while it wasn't the best I've had it was far from the worst. Fried breaded shrimp: not bad at all. The spicy horseradish: spot on. Go easy with that one at first. The mediocre: just about everything else. Salmon was bland, whitish (WAY overcooked) and dry as a fish bone. Other meats overcooked. Sauces tasted fresh from the industrial vat. Brussels sprouts (well, you GOTTA eat your veggies, right?) chewy. Meh. Oddly, the hit of the evening was totally unexpected: the carrot cake. Brother N. commented that it was very good, though the cream cheese frosting was a little light. I replied it's because they'd left the 'e' off, which confused everyone thoroughly. I went on to explain the sign read "Carrot cake with cream chees" and he said something like "only YOU would even notice that." But I digress. The carrot cake was pretty good--worth seconds. In all, for $16 a head, 12 year old light-eater included, we have had WAY better buffets almost anywhere else. Unless things are just hideous or toxic, I never rate one star. So two stars it is.
