What a poor selection of mediocre food offerings. Only the cheapest cuts of chicken, thighs and wings. Riblets were the cutoffs of pork ribs. They were messy and difficult to eat. The pizza offerings were only fair. The Mac and cheese was barely tolerable, and were the (non-real) mashed potatoes. The chicken gravy was tasteless. The salad bar wasn't too bad, though the dressings were watered down and tasteless. Desserts were okay, though meager variety. Even the fountain sodas tasted a little off. The place appeared clean enough. They could have posted at the entrance that the grill was closed at lunchtime. Instead we paid, sat, and then found the grill was closed. I guess that's why lunch was $2 less. I would not return, nor would I recommend. read more

Took my kids to The Hill in Newport Oregon for the first time on Father's Day 2026. I chose to go here as I had heard that the buffet was awesome and it included pizza, macaroni, steak, salad bar, desserts.. Perfect. I have a couple picky eaters and pizza, Salad, macaroni.. that is all food they want and eat. So to start, I am not a picky eater at all. So 7 of my 8 kids (yeah i know...) and myself go in hungry after a long day hunting agates and playing with mole crabs to an immediate bill of $180.00 and that is without drinks, just water. We get sat down. Restaurant is very clean (reason for the stars that it did get.) Water is delivered and we begin to shuffle towards the buffet line. -Pizza was undercooked and reminded me very much of a elementary school cafeteria pizza. In fact almost all of the food was of that caliber. -Baked beans had been sitting long enough to form a skin -The clam chowder was separating in the pot and smelled burnt as soon as i opened the lid. -The salad bar was alright except for the actual Salad which seemed to be entirelymade up from the ends of numerous bags where it was just little ends and pieces of everything but lettuce. -Fried chicken was really dry and not enjoyable to eat. The kids barely eat anything besides fruit. As much as I would like to rip them about absolutely everything I will leave it at what it is. The food was pretty awful for that price tag, the service was mediocre, it felt like there was a single server for the entire restaurant, as water glasses were sitting empty a majority of the time. We will likely not be returning to this restaurant. I hope this review gets to their management so that they can consider minor and major changes for the betterment of the establishment. read more

Come for the views! They're pretty nice and high above the agate coast. The buffet is ok, again the views are good. The salad bar is pretty fresh so you can eat healthy. They do have pizza and chicken and basic pasta for spaghetti... The desert aren't as good but most important and demands attention is their ice cream machine. It has visible black mold. How they pass inspection is beyond my imagination. As most people know an ice cream machine must be taken down every night and disinfected with restaurant cleaning supplies and food disinfectant. All machines have blades that have to be reinstalled every morning. This is McDonald's, Dairy Queen 101. I recommend they work on the ice cream machine everyday. Again. I found a hair in my dessert. It was the best part of the meal. To be fair, this aging restaurant has a very nice view. Sit in the parking lot and enjoy it. DO NOT EAT HERE! For the princely sum of $20 each, with oiur "senior discount", my wife and I sauntered in, full of anticipation and empty of belly, to try this "All you can eat" restaurant on the Oregon Coast. Any drink other than water was extra. We wound up eating, not "all we could eat", but "all we could stomach". As you walk in, you pay at the door, without any clue as to what the offerings are. They are, in a word, PITIFUL! Several varieties of basic, soggy-crusted pizza, over-fried and nearly desert-dry fried chicken, equally dry and tasteless chicken swimming in a greasy pool of barbeque sauce, industrial mac-n-cheese, a bowl of long-dead spaghetti and another of hopeless sauce await your tastebuds. Most had been sitting so long they were cold and nearly petrified. Oh! and there was a huge bowl of commercial pork and beans to top of the gustatorial delight of this crumbling palace to the palate. After trying unsuccessfully to find something - ANYthing - remotely edible, I gave up and looked at the salad bar. They DID have a nice selection of the standard fare of fruits and vegetables on offer, though the available quantities were depleted. Desperate to try to find something of substance to fill my stil-empty belly, I turned to the nearly empty dessert offerings. Bad mistake. The soft-serve ice cream, after 30 seconds of holding the valve open, finally dripped two milky drops of something-or-other into the bottom of my bowl. Disgusted, I turned to the "pasteries". There were about four varieties, so I took one of each, found some 'tapioca' pudding and layered it on top of the small, commercial, single-serve pasteries. Then in a further act of desperation, I found some 'strawberry syrup', and squirted some on top of the mess growing in my bowl. The Tapioca pudding was edible. The strawberry syrup as well. The pasteries were so dried and tough that they might have been pried from the walls of an adobe hut in the desert. They DO keep the place clean - or perhaps no-one ever comes in to dirty it. NOTHING was replenished while we were there, and it was a couple hours until closing. My wife and I are well-seasoned seniors, and have eaten at restaurants worldwide. We have BOTH decided that this was THE WORST MEAL we've EVER had - ANYWHERE! read more

This place has an amazing view and great employees but God the food is terrible and the pricing is ridiculous. 20+ dollars a person and not much edible you could have rib ribs or street tacos, both of which were not very good. Absolutely the best view in a low budget restaurant on the entire coast! Even on an overcast day we could see for miles down the beach. $20 per adult is very reasonable for all the food we ate! This restaurant is a gem. I highly recommend it. We stopped there for lunch after volunteering to clean the beach. My husband said that it was the best mashed potatoes ever. It was Sunday. We absolutely love the fresh salad/fruit bar. Many choices and always fresh. Nice selection of dressings and salad toppings. They have soup every day. They have hot menu items pasta, mashed potatoes, rice, vegetables and gravy as well as several pizza choices. After 3:30 they offer grill items. There is also a dessert bar with cookies, pudding jello and soft serve ice cream. They have an awesome wait staff - very friendly and helpful. You can also watch the ocean while you eat. read more

I have a couple of positive things to say: the views are lovely. Everyone who works here is really nice and helpful. The salad bar is pretty good. The drinks are okay. Unfortunately, I wouldn't go back. We weren't able to even eat several of the items we tried from the buffet, including: pizza, green beans, mashed potatoes & gravy, chicken because they were Just Not Good. We did eat the salad we assembled from the salad bar even though it was just average. Our drinks were pretty good, but expensive. Although the sign outside advertises fish tacos, they apparently aren't available at lunch, and it's not possible to order from a menu: just the buffet. Maybe it's just nostalgia that brings people back, but we won't return. read more

Oh my, this place needs to redo the menu. The food is not good! Service was wonderful and the best part of our experience. Greeted at the door, very nice guy. Our waitress was very nice as well. The view is fantastic. However, the food was so bad and we both had stomachaches as soon as we got home. I would not recommend eating here, and we wouldn't go back again. Good view, but the "food" is over processed, over cooked, overly dry from sitting out, bland, poor quality, and yucky. Barely edible, except for passable salad. And to add insult to injury it gave us both digestive woes the next day. Courteous staff though. Oh and the restroom was a disaster. The toilet in restroom was clogged and not flushable. The floors looked dirty and rundown. I felt like I needed to wash after washing. The place needs a bathroom remodel and a complete menu revision offering at least something that is actually made there by a real cook and not just poured out of bucket like pig slop, if they're going to stay in business. read more

I guess this place used to be an Izzy. the wait staff here is super friendly and very attentive. food was not bad, I had the salad bar, some pizza, chicken, and some dessert. Also I had the grill food-fish tacos, bf tried the ribs, he said they were good. I mean the food is nothing to brag about it but it was edible, none of is had a blow out. Main course looked so gross that we wouldn't touch it. Green beans were burnt. Salad bar was ok. Had only one soup choice. Dessert bar was less than par. This restaurant used to be named Izzy's and we liked it back then so we decided to try it out. We went on a Friday night and was hoping for some seafood, but their main specials were BBQ ribs and fish tacos. They also had chicken, pizzas, pasta, beans, and mashed potatoes/gravy. They had a pretty good salad bar and desert selections. The reason for the average rating was their chicken was dried out, like it had been on the warmer for a long time and the lack of more main buffet items. The service was great and the cook who made the BBQ ribs did a good job. The cost for a senior was $18 which is pretty cheap for a buffet. read more

No- if you are any type of foodie than just dont. The only thing I found tasty was the sliced potato wedges everything else was like cafeteria with many of the items over cooked or tired. I went thinking there was cod, clam chowder and steak...nope...and the 'wood fired grill' produced tough fish 'tacos' and a weird pile of small bones with some meat on them that were also not fresh. Pizza options were all very flat and overcooked looking..breadstick was stale. Only thing going for this place is the view and the friendly staff. Oh and soda is an extra almost $3 bucks...Izzy's is gone ya'll- seek some quality over quantity. read more
