My husband and I used SVS at our wedding last month. I had gone to a few wedding fairs over the last year or so, and as a result, I received a promotion email from SVS. They had good prices and good reviews, so we booked them! They arrived on time, had everything set up, and a TON (I mean it!) of props! Way more props than I've seen with any other photo booth. Communication with Neal and Erica was super easy. Such a plus! They were always quick to respond to my emails. On the day of, they left us with a mini album of all the photos that were taken, and by the time we returned from our honeymoon, we had a USB drive in our mail including all of the photos and a video they added. I was also a guest at the wedding that Violet C. is referring to on 9/24/17. Let me start off by saying, while at the wedding, the people running Silicon Valley Selfie weren't particularly nice, helpful, or engaging. They just kind of stood there and took pictures. They never once greeted any of the guests (I was at the Photo Booth a lot throughout the night) and instead of handing the photos out after a session.. the woman working just stood there sticking labels on the back of the photos. You could really just tell they didn't care to be there. At one point, after they refilled the printer paper my friend stated "I think our photos are going to be printed" and the woman working replies "IT'S RIGHT HERE." The quality of the photos were subpar (a bit blown out, backdrop crooked, the wall in the background that's not supposed to be in the photos showing, etc). After hearing about what had happened to Violet C. and her son after the wedding, I am absolutely appalled. I too work in the wedding industry as a vendor and yes, people (drunk people) and children, at times, can be very frustrating. But you never treat them with disrespect, let alone threaten to shut down the operation, especially b/c of a two year old trying to play with props... In the end you are providing a service that someone paid hundreds of dollars for on their one special day. A day you cannot relive. Unless the guests are blatantly putting you in harms way, you put a smile on, no matter what. You can absolutely see their lack of professionalism given these "response reviews" (probably by their family/friends). Most of them being put in the "not currently recommended" section below. One being removed completed because it violated Yelp's terms of service (Kara L.) My friend wrote a review on their Facebook in which they responded to still defending their actions as it was their policy to not let children play with their props. If people/children annoy you that easily, then don't work in this type of industry. I would take your business elsewhere and not take the risk of your special day being ruined just because one person or CHILD annoys the staff. read more

I finally got to experience the Silicon Valley Selfie booth at the Fremont Chamber of Commerce event last night at the Fremont Masonic Lodge. It was a lot of fun. Many people were putting on hats and costumes, trying different backgrounds, taking photos, sending them via social media and emailing them to friends and family all throughout the event. In todays high tech world, this is your modern version of a photo keepsake. If your going to have a family event like a graduation, anniversary, wedding, or just a family get together it's a neat way to bring people together for fun photos. read more

Booked Bay Area Selfie for my daughters' Sweet 16 Birthday party and they came through with flying colors!! My daughter developed the theme around a Masquerade Ball with all her friends showing up in full ball gown dress and it was great. All guests were able to take a picture to memorialize the party and each was given a strip of three photos to take home. Previous to the party, the owner and I worked on the backgrounds and decided on three that were perfect! Logistics: Bay Area Selfie was extremely prompt, set up was quick and seamless, and very professional. They were open to last minute changes and requests and were very supportive of helping the girls have a great time. Price: We are familiar with another business that is similar and the price is similar as well. The difference is the amount of contact and assistance they gave us! The owners of Bay Area Selfie gave us feedback that helped us focus on what we really wanted them to do. Add that they were easy to work with and easy to add things at the last minute and their price becomes even more reasonable. You get what you pay for normally, we fell we received a great value and the quality was above and beyond what we asked for! Event fit: The footprint of what they do is very small and was perfect in the background of our event. Guests were able to utilize the entire event room we booked and took advantage of little escapes for some fun with the camera. Bottom line for us with any party or event my wife and produce is the fact that we can sign up a contracted service, work together easily with little to no issue, get everything we paid for, and have a great relationship with the owner of the businesses we use. (Coming out of Yelp retirement to write this review) I attended a wedding where SVS was hired as the photo booth. Like any other company, they had a table full of props. My son (who is barely 2) is really into firetrucks/men right now and somehow made his way to the table and found their firefighter helmet prop. He kept putting it on, taking it off. When we'd put it back, he'd make his way back to the prop table to find it. On one of these occasions, I followed behind him and at the table, Erica sternly says to me, "This isn't a toy, he can't play with it." A little taken aback by her comment, I say ok, but he runs off to the other side of the venue with the helmet and I follow him. A few moments later, Erica is right behind us ready to collect the helmet saying again, "I really mean it, he can't have it." As she takes it from his head (1), he starts to cry. I try to calm him down, but once I put him on the ground, he makes his way back to the prop table. I watch as she sees him coming and purposely puts the hat on the other side of the table. He is still able to reach it and here is our conversation: Me: "I don't understand why he can't play with it if you have so many other props - really, no one is going to care if the firefighter helmet is missing." Erica: "It's not a toy and other kids will come over thinking these are toys." (A hypothetical situation, really.) Me: "There aren't any other kids here." (there were less than a handful, and my son was the ring bearer) Erica: "Well it's our policy and has to stay on the table." She then tug-of-wars the helmet out of my son's hands (2) and he starts to bawl. His father comes over to see what's going on and tries to talk to Erica, but she's not having it. My son reaches for the helmet again and she kneels down, yanks the helmet from his hands (3) and yells "This is not a toy!" Like any parent, I rush in to defend my 2 year old and say to her, "DO NOT yell at my son!" The wedding planner comes over to see what's going on and also tries to reason with Erica to see if he can play with the hat while at the party since none of the partygoers will miss the helmet. She stands her ground. At this point, my son is with a friend on the other side of the room with the helmet. It's gotten so out of hand that he said that he would pay for the helmet. Erica threatens to pack up and leave. A few words of advice to Erica (from one human to another): 1. Human kindness. While we all run our business against policies and procedure, you should incorporate a little human kindness into your operation. Pick your battles and maybe not with a 2 year old. 2. In a marketplace so crowded with other vendors (search on Yelp and you will find hundreds all with 5 stars), people's experiences do matter. And in an age where social media is such an influential platform, what people say does get around. It would be wise to put your customers first. (Attendees to an event are considered customers.) 3. My son is 2 and has yet to learn what is right and wrong. You're at least 55 and have yet to fully grasp this concept. 4. If you don't like people and cannot deal with children, do not put yourself in a situation where interactions with humans can occur. Stay behind the scenes and run the logistics. 5. Last night we had Silicon Valley Selfie at our Chanukah Lighting. They were unbelievable! They set everything up super quickly, and did an amazing job. They managed to get through a huge amount of customers in a short amount of time. They were organized and their technology worked super quickly. The pictures are gorgeous and high quality. Most importantly, Neal and Erica were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. They were professional, communicative and just really nice and pleasant to be around. I hired SVS for my 40th casino party this month at the Ruggieri Center and they did a superb job. Both Neal and Erica were super helpful while setting up the contract, and helped a lot setting up my party logo and green screens for the photos. Very reasonably priced for 3 hrs and they definitely go above and beyond. Met Silicon Valley Selfie at an event I attended with my daughter and then hired them for my company Christmas party a few weeks ago. They were FANTASTIC! Neal and Erica arrived on time, set up easily. Both were wonderful to work with. They carefully customized the backgrounds we used in the photos which turned out GREAT, provided a wide variety of props for us to use in pics, crafted a digital frame with our company logo on it with gave our photos an edge, printed what seemed like endless copies for all of our employees and their guests as well. SVS even made payments quick and easy with an online platform. After the party, they sent us a USB drive with all the images and even made us a holiday video which we absolutely loved! Overall a HUGE hit. Every time I looked over at the set up they were smiling and laughing with our guests, which for me sets a vendor apart :) I would highly recommend this pair and look forward to working with them in the future! read more
