This restaurant is tucked away on Prater and Sparks Blvd. It's by a gun store-shooting range and by the National Guard Recruiting Office. It was empty when we walked in (it's a shame because it was so good). The menu is not huge but has a good variety of choices. The waitress was so nice and answered all of our questions. We got the fried dumplings with the medium heat option. I think the heat was from a red powder that was on top. They were crispy and had good flavor. I ordered the popcorn chicken appetizer as my main meal. The popcorn chicken was crispy and had good flavor. I asked for the mild heat option which was again the red powder on top. My husband ordered a noodle dish with steak. He said it was the most tender steak he has ever had. He really loved the meal. I also got fried rice it had a unique flavor. It was crispy which we both enjoyed. I got the peach ice tea it was good but overly sweet. My husband got the sweet jasmine tea which tasted more like regular iced tea. Over all it was a great meal and we can't wait to go back again.

Get anything that includes their house beef broth, and you are instantly going to be happy and feel better. It's just healing! We had a bahn mi (includes a bowl of broth- choose BEEF) and garlic noodles with shrimp. The app was the veggie Vietnamese wraps with various root veggies and shrooms; delicious! Staff was friendly and decor is cozy and cute. I felt like it was the Spirited Away soundtrack on repeat, but no complaints there! Thanks for a great meal. We can't wait to come back.

The Service at Silk was next level good! So kind. We started with the green papaya salad appetizer, it was so fresh with Just the right amount of acidity. Their crispy Vietnamese rolls were unique and an absolute must try! The wrapper is made of vermicelli noodles! So light and flaky, in the best way. Both were awesome starters! My husband got the Wor wonton soup, it was overflowing with goodness. Best wontons I've tried. They were sturdy for wontons and had good flavor. I got the beef stew with rice. I should've gotten it with noodles. It probably would have made the dish overall have more substance. It had lots of liquid and I had to fish for the goods... don't be afraid to load it up guys, when I think stew I think hearty;) We will happily come back to try more items on their menu:)

I've heard so amazing reviews about the food, my family and I had to come check it out for ourselves. The inside is very clean and it's basic but pretty and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely amazing. We love Asian food and we have all agreed it is our new favorite. The shrimp spring rolls are fresh and made to order. They are so good and the sauce is delicious. The pot stickers are so good and the popcorn chicken is a winner as well. They are fried and spiced to your desire. My daughter and I both tried the fame broiled pork and rice and agree that is is wonderful. Our new favorite. My husband ordered the beef stew and he loved it. It is safe to say we will be back, a lot.

    Nice little space.

Food and service were both delightful I happened to catch them on their first day open. I got the black pepper steak which was super flavorful and tender. The spring rolls were well packed and had a sweeter/thinner peanut sauce than I'm used to. But it was delicious and paired well. They only had the soft opening menu for my visit but I'm excited to see what else they will be cooking up here.

I went in on their soft opening during the evening hour . Nice decor, staff are friendly few families were inside dining. Since, I'm on my way to work, I ordered a takeout. I ordered the pork chop rice plate with pickled veggies ( cabbage and carrots). I enjoyed the meal. I wanted to point out, the pork chop is very well marinated, it's spot on. It's very savory. I didn't add any fish sauce to the pork chop. It's not needed. I used it on the rice. I liked their in-house made pickled cabbage and carrots. Its acidity is perfect, not too sour. Taro milk tea, I asked for less sugar, with boba, turned out good. Just the way I wanted. Not too sweet like most boba places in town. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to family and friends. Come on out, it's located in sparks, on prater way, Near the RAC, and chopstick in sparks. Same center where 7-11 and Charles Jr.

Grand opening/soft opening day at Silk cafe and bar. We've been watching this newer locally owned Vietnamese restaurant and anticipated it's opening. We were excited to come in today for our lunch date. All staff was friendly and welcoming upon arrival. Simple menu, but it offers something for everyone and is vegetarian friendly. If it wasn't Summer warm today I would have ordered their beef short rib pho, but I know what I'm going to have next time. We started off with the popcorn chicken, a jasmine tea, taro milk tea with fresh tapioca pearls. We ordered the popcorn chicken medium heat and our palates appreciated what the basil brought to the dish. The chicken was not dry nor was it overcooked. I would definitely order this again. We ordered fried chicken rice plate and a grilled pork and shrimp vermicelli bowl for entrées. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection! The crunchy skin and perfectly seasoned, I could have had that by itself. (Their food was that good that I didn't notice my photos were blurry). I enjoyed the pickled vegetables and the fish sauce served on the side. I stole a bite of the hubb's vermicelli bowl; it was deliciously refreshing. We received a scratch off thank you for coming in today and I got my very own Silk glass water bottle. Hopefully the rest of your soft opening supersedes any expectations for today. Thank you for the hospitality today. Best of wishes and welcome to the neighborhood. Please don't take the beef short rib pho off the menu until I can try it. Lol

This place has the best spring rolls I've had in a long time. I would go back just for them, and I'm rarely over in the area. The wrapper was fresh and not at all dried out, the shrimp was perfectly cooked and very fresh, the veggies where crispy, and you guessed it... fresh. The peanut sauce was a delightful addition to every bite, but they also stood so well on their own I didn't need that much. The Pho was also delightful, my only complaint was that I like a more aromatic broth, but the noodles and meat were both excellent (the hunt for my perfect pho in Reno continues). The staff was friendly, helpful, and communicative. The space is cute and welcoming. For my next trip I'm going to get a Bahn Mi, and probably more spring rolls.

We drove through town on vacay and loved this place so much after eating the first time we stopped by again on the way home. The portions are good and food was delish. We didn't take pics of everything but loved all the things we tried. The popcorn chicken was good, juicy and crispy. We got it mild and it was good spice for the adults but a bit much for the kiddos. The rice plate with fried chicken was fantastic and both kids loved it. The owner is super nice and even asked for feedback about our visit. Service was great and we never had to wait for water refills. Ambiance is nice with everything being clean and well maintained. 100% would stop here again if we're going through town in the future. I want to gate keep this place but if you're local please go and keep this place open. You won't be disappointed.

We had a wonderful pho meal at Silk Cafe. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and always greeted us with a big smile. We don't live in Reno and happened to stop by on our way to the airport, but if we were local, we would definitely be coming back again and again. Highly recommend! If I could give this place 10 stars, I definitely would!

    Tiger Milk Tea w/ boba

This just became the best pho in town. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our first time here. The servers were polite and the owners came straight to our table to get to know us. I tried brisket and beef pho with a tiger milk tea. My wife had the vegetable pho. The food was delicious and the tea was perfect, probably the best I've had in Reno. This place is peaceful, pleasant, and delicious. Definitely recommend!

Amazing. Love finding places that give me that clean and flavorful taste. I have been struggling recently to find a place that doesn't come off too salty. Everyone looks for the rich and heavy handed heat and seasoning but Vietnamese food for me has always been clean, fresh, and absolutely flavorful. I tasted the fish sauce on the chicken wings without it overpowering the other flavors. Chicken skin was crisp, not hard, and it was not drenched in sauce. Perfect. Calamari strips really wowed me. Just enough chew, without being chewy. Each bite delivering the bite of a well-seasoned dish. Also, can I talk about just how yummy the grilled pork in the bahn mi is? I can go on. This restaurant truly delivered both in taste and service.

If flavor had a headquarters in Sparks, it might just be hiding inside Silk. I'll say it straight: this is the most delicious Vietnamese food I've had in Sparks, and it's making a very convincing argument for being top-tier in the greater Reno area too. Vietnamese cuisine already sits at the top of my personal food pyramid, and Silk somehow climbs even higher. We kicked things off with the Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls, and right out of the gate, BOOM, these things set the tone. The veggie mix is dialed in perfectly, and the dipping sauce? It's like your favorite version went off on vacation and came back with better stories. Familiar flavors, but layered with something extra you didn't know you needed. Then came the Pan-Fried Pot Stickers. These tasted like they were crafted in-house with actual care, not pulled from a freezer somewhere. I'm no dumpling detective, but they felt unique, in a "where have you been all my life?" kind of way. The Popcorn Chicken deserves its own spotlight. Light, crispy, and paired with fried basil that somehow elevates the whole experience. Add the spicy seasoning and suddenly you're in flavor overdrive. Crunchy, aromatic, just plain fun to eat. For the main event, I went with the Beef Stew with rice noodles. Imagine pho's heartier, slightly thicker cousin who still knows how to keep things balanced. The beef was tender, the veggies held their ground, tender, but not overcooked. The whole bowl just worked. Throw in the fresh basil, a squeeze of lemon, and some jalapeños, and it brightens up like a Truckee Meadows sunrise after a storm. My wife and daughter both went with the Rice Plate and chose the grilled pork. Easily some of the best I've had. Personally, I'd probably lean toward the Grilled Meat Vermicelli (Bún) next time. That's just my lane, but there's no wrong turn here. Even the marinated veggies, which are often just plate decoration elsewhere, were actually worth eating. Imagine that. They've also got an updated takeout menu with even more options than what's floating around online, so there's still a whole lineup left to explore. Bottom line: go to Silk. Be adventurous. Order something you wouldn't normally pick. Their subtle twists on classic dishes make you want to come back and try everything on the menu like it's a personal quest. The staff was friendly, prompt and gave suggestion. I haven't reviewed in a while. New restaurants around Reno seem to be phoning it in with gimmicks and mediocre food. Thank Chúa for Silk. (Amy M. posted our food photos, I just added the updated menu)

Third, I just like playing nickel video poker in a relaxed environment and when it's at the bar, even better. Drinks come faster that way. Speaking of drinks, they have the well stuff for the rookies who just order a rum and coke or gin and tonic. But for those in the know, all you have to do is ask for the good stuff and they will pour it for you, and they do have the good stuff. Full disclosure, they are a whiskey bar first and foremost, so they have more of that than anything else, but just to name a few others, they do have DonQ rum and Don Julio tequila so unless you are a high maintenance drinker, you can find what you are looking for. It is also worth noting that they bill themselves as a craft cocktail bar, which means they can and will make you a very nice mixed drink, speaking of the high maintenance among us. There are pool tables and leagues are a regular thing here as well as a nice little William Hill sportsbook in the corner. It closes early though, so keep that in mind. There are no less than a dozen beers on tap at any given time as well as several bottle and can options. Plenty of TV's above the bar and Direct TV, so they get almost anything you are looking for. The bar slots seem to be pretty loose most of the time and although I rarely play video Keno, I have seen many people cash out hundreds of dollars on a fairly regular basis playing it. Now for the bad...It is a truck stop bar and that in itself is not a bad thing, but sometimes, well...Truckers can be a lot to take in. Also, you will come home smelling like smoke. Otherwise, stop by if you are in the 'hood and take a look for yourself. Good place to pregame. If nothing else, check out the gun collection throughout the casino and bar, it is worth the trip alone.

This was my first time to Legends Bay Oyster & Sushi bar. We had some guests from the Bay Area and…read morethey wanted sushi. Since Legends was offering an all you can eat option and a buy two sushi rolls for $12.99, we decided to give Legends a try. Everyone had a couple of sushi rolls and I decided to sample different nigiri sushi so I can gauge the freshness and quality. Salmon, if not fresh (or as fresh as can be in Reno) can be oily and fishy. This wasn't it. It can tell it was previously frozen due to the texture. As fresh texture has more resistance when biting down vs previously frozen tends to be softer, less bounce when biting. But it was good or even better than some other local sushi offerings. Tako or boiled octopus, is almost never fresh caught / cooked at any restaurant other than Japan. Even in the Bay Area, Tako is usually bought cooked but not frozen. This is where it can affect the quality. If frozen, it can make the tako kind of stringy and mushy. When it's not frozen the tako is firm and slightly chewy. I can tell this tako travelled a little but it wasn't frozen. Unagi or grilled eel, is almost always purchased cooked by most restaurants other than what I've had in Japan. Similar to tako, it is usually shipped refrigerated but not frozen. All restaurants will serve unagi over rice with a drizzle of unagi sauce. The flesh should be tender and any bones will be super thin and not a problem to eat. There weren't any bones which is a plus. This unagi didn't appear to be previously frozen. We also has the edamame, which is tossed in garlic and salt with some oil. Very tasty on a simple dish. If cigarette smoke bothers you, there wasn't any in the restaurant but apparent everywhere in the casino, so plan ahead. The tables were about 30% capacity and even with that, the order to service gap was fairly long. Our server was pleasant and willing to explain how the player's card program worked. Today, I finally made it happen! Pictured here is the unbelievably delicious Oklahoma Smash Burger :D Shane, the owner and chef, and his staff are always so friendly and inviting. Honestly, I'd still come here even if the food weren't amazing--but thankfully, it absolutely is. I am embarrassed to admit I was skeptical the first time I heard about the chicken skin nachos, but the moment I tried them, I was hooked. They remind me of the freshest chicharrónes and give the nachos the perfect crispy texture. The Cajun queso and andouille sausage on top are incredible. I've had just about everything on the menu, and not once have I been disappointed. GET THE SALTED BUTTER PECAN ICE CREAM!! You will most likely be too stuffed to eat it there, but take some home. It'll be the best decision you ever make. If I had one complaint, it would only be that they get very busy on weekends, so it can be tough to grab a table. I highly recommend making a reservation! Especially when Chef Shane has his seafood boils, yummmm!

Our server/bartender came and introduced himself and told us the specials. We ended up ordering one of the appetizer specials, the Halibut Collar with Asian Sauce. It was really good, we did ask for a little more of the sauce though. Which they make themselves. Loved the cocktails, so many to choose from. Let Jack help us select. When choosing the food he let us know to save room for ice cream which they make in house also. My hamburger and Gary's pasta were delicious but so glad that we saved some room for the ice cream too. We already have ideas of what we want to order next time. They had live music playing that night which was nice background to our evening. Talked with the owner/chef Shane, he has done an amazing job with the place.

I really enjoyed my Friday night venture out in Sparks with one of my favorite drink spots-…read moreTipsy's. A friend and I had discussed venturing somewhere for drinks and Tipsys was what popped in my head. Low and behold it was ladies night even better. I had saw a cotton candy drink and showed it to my friend and that was all the convincing that was needed! It was the perfect chill and relaxing vibe after a long and busy week. I love the glow of the place and the music was good. There was even security on site which is always good. We were fortunate enough to have Valerie the owner behind the counter, during my very first time to Tipsy's she was behind the counter. Most of the drinks for ladies night were $10, there were some really fun ones that were outside of that that are on my list for next time including a ducky in a bathtub, and even having a cocktail in a purse. I enjoyed chatting and commending Valerie for her and her families' creative business ventures. I loved learning about a new business soon to open- the Social Club which will be on Victorian. I love how more nightlife is coming to downtown Sparks to revitalize the area down there. I had been in the area and saw the signage and got super excited. I even learned that Señor Tequila's was a family member's business wow- so cool! I thought the drink- which was a special - Daydreaming which consisted of mango, passionfruit and prosecco. It was a beautifully served drink and tasted amazing. My friend even asked Valerie for some extra cotton candy and she was sweet enough to serve us extra in cups. Totally would have stayed to try more cocktails but my friend wanted to venture. Can't wait to come back to venture the ducky drink and some other cutesy ones.

It really does not taste anything like an "old fashioned" but it's very good and my usual go-to. Ambiance is cool. Has a very Edgar Alan Poe vibe mixed with an alchemist/speakeasy. They have a small patio as well. Service: top-notch mixologists/alchemists.

Love the quality of the drinks as they absolutely put effort and time making quality drinks with quality ingredients. It's relatively small inside so I can only imagine it could get packed in there. We had several drinks and every single one was perfection! The bathroom is the cutest and they have the coolest speakeasy door that the employees use to get to the back (not for the customers). My rant..I'm not from the area so I had NO idea what this place was when I walked by. It looked cute so my husband, myself and child walked up the steps and they sat outside while I went to check it out and see if this was a bar/club/ restaurant. I walked inside and instantly got the death glare from an employee. I instantly said omg I take it this place isn't kid friendly.. he rudely said no. I wanted to clarify and confirm even outside ? He said no. I apologized and they left but the vibe and way he said it was definitely off putting. My sister and I decided to stay for a drink while my husband/child went to walk around. Usually I don't give bad costumer service a chance.. but I realllllllly wanted a drink that one of those others customers were drinking. If this place had better costumer service. It would be a 5
