    Oxtail sandwich
    Jennifer M.

Their sandwiches are pretty legit as well as their broth. I tried the oxtail one and the meat was pretty juicy and the bread was crunchy. My only gripes are that the price is a bit steep for a banh mi sandwich at $14, they have limited drinks as none are house made, and the place doesn't have comfortable in dine-in seating.

Management took action immediately, which I appreciate. This is a new bánh mì shop that's only been open for a little over a month. Yesterday, I ordered two chicken bánh mì and one oxtail bánh mì. I repeatedly requested no jalapeños and no Sriracha because of a food allergy. Unfortunately, the oxtail bánh mì still came with jalapeños. I called the restaurant, and the employee who took my order remembered our conversation. She initially asked me to bring the sandwich back, but I explained that I was in the middle of working on something and couldn't leave. Within 15 minutes, the manager personally called me, sincerely apologized, issued a refund, and said he would retrain the staff. I told him I was fortunate that I checked the sandwich before eating it because food allergies are a serious safety issue. A family member of mine is allergic to jalapeños and has experienced throat swelling and tightness that required an emergency room visit, so I never take allergy requests lightly. The manager acknowledged the seriousness of the situation. Mistakes happen, especially with a new business. I appreciate that the manager took responsibility and hope the additional staff training helps prevent this from happening again.

new Banh Mi spot in Reno!! Crackle and Crumb is absolutely delicious and they make their own bread in-house. We tried to go a few weeks ago and they had sold out of bread! We were lucky enough to get some sandwiches this time around and they did not disappoint! The combination sandwich was delicious and the lemongrass pork was AMAZING. There are a few places to sit inside, but it definitely gives more takeout vibes, a nice little spot nestled in midtown next to pure country canteen.

6/27/26- Spoiled by authentic ban mi's from living in Elk Grove... it's hard to find a decent one.. A lot of hype on the new kid in town.. Menu has limited options.. Out of the oxtail so we went with the brisket and lemon grass.. You gotta have a decent bread to serve and this was very disappointing.. Dry and thick.. brisket looked more like sliced lunch meat.. Chicken was okay.. Ambiance- music sets the scene and the scene failed.. reminded me of hard rock .. Wish them well..

Another good quick service place in midtown?!? Yes please! The flavor of the lemongrass pork was really good, and the portion was just right. Unfortunately, the outside of my bread was not crunchy, and there was almost no Jalapeno on my sando (This is easy to fix, I will just order it with more next time). The location is amazing, and the staff was very nice and curious about my feedback. They should be getting jambon (cold cut) sandwiches in soon which is my favorite, so I'm looking forward to trying that.

Good spot with delicious banh mi sandwiches. I got two because why not :). I would say the hot brisket sandwich was very delicious with the pickled veggies. The beef was tender and juicy. It came with a light pho broth. The Vietalian was a fun take. They use traditional cold cuts, yummy cheese and added their Vietnamese flavor making it very eclectic. The bread is great, a good carrier for these sandwiches. Very crunchy and surprisingly light. Will need to return and try their other options. The sandwich shop is small and only has high top bar style sitting along the wall. Just order your sandwich and take a seat or take it home and watch your favorite show. Worth visiting.

I've seen locals highlight this spot on Tik Tok and was so excited to see a vegetarian option! As a mushroom skeptic I was a little hesitant to try to Lemongrass Portobello Banh Mi... but it was amazing! It was so flavorful and the vegetables were noticeably fresh. I also love that Crackle and Crumb makes their own bread, it really elevates the sandwich! I'll be telling my friends about this spot and I'll definitely be back!

Iced Vietnamese coffee so strong it could probably knock you off your chair lol!

An absolute MUST place to visit and definitely more than once! I am so happy this exists and it's even more of a good reason for me to visit Midtown. This sandwich that we had (beef lemongrass) was so incredibly perfect that I am seriously so excited to continue coming back here for more of that one! I also can't wait to try the Banh Mi with the pho broth for dipping similar to a French dip with au jus. Absolutely amazing customer service. We had a great conversation talking about items on the menu (she recommended the pork lemongrass), and how nice the owners are. It seems like a really great place to take your laptop and work while going for a quick bite, or sip some very strong iced Vietnamese coffee, and enjoy the breeze coming through the roll up window. Welcome to Midtown Crackle and Crumb, glad you're here! Hopefully you'll stick around for a long time.

Food was n-yah. Not very much meat in the breddy bread. They were out of the ox tail which I was looking forward to so i got the brisket. The meat (or what was there) was sparse with some sauce thrown in. The gal taking orders was polite but other than that. Dont think Im coming back.

Only open for about 3 weeks now, C&C is making a splash! My husband got the lemongrass pork and I got the mushroom banh mi, they were both very good! Plus a fresh baguette hot from the oven, what more could you ask for?! Super friendly service as we ordered as a grab and go but there's so much to try out as this place gets established!

Stopped by and tried the lemongrass beef bánh mì and the oxtail bánh mì, and both were outstanding. The meats were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The bread deserves special mention--soft on the inside with a satisfying crispy exterior that adds great texture without being overly hard or difficult to bite through. The standout for me was definitely the oxtail bánh mì. It comes with a side of broth for dipping, kind of like a French dip sandwich, but honestly even better. The rich, savory soup takes an already great sandwich to another level. If you're a bánh mì fan, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend the oxtail bánh mì, you can't get it anywhere else! I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

3.5 stars-- the lemongrass sandwiches were lacking flavor to me, but I would come back for their pho dip sandwiches. Just make sure to order extra meat for the ideal meat:bread ratio, which brings each sandwich up to ~$15 (pricey for a bahn mi) but the brisket and oxtail were both so tender and flavorful. The pho broth itself was salty and lacking the real pho flavor, but it was fine when paired with the sandwich. Id go back to give the rest of the menu a try.

Finally, a fantastic banh mi shop! I'm not exaggerating when I say this place is delicious. Lemongrass pork is flavorful, lean meat...no fatty chunks. Bread tastes fresh and soft. This is our new favorite choice for a lunch to go!

Until this 4th of July weekend (250/2026) we had never heard of Archie's. It was recommended to us and we stopped in on Sunday the 5th for lunch on our way out of town. What an amazing choice. I ordered their bacon cheese burger. Guess what? It was GIANT. It was delicious. It was perfect. Comes with fries but I got onion rings. The onion rings were perfect too. Largest order of rings I have ever seen. The burger (1/2 Lb I think!!) had nice thick bacon in every bite, two large and fresh slices of tomato, a big old slab of an onion slice, mayo and lettuce. I can't remember if there were pickles. It was the best burger and onion rings I have eaten in at least ten years, maybe 20. We will be back, EVERY time we are in town from now on. I can't recommend this place enough. Special shout out to David, our server. This guy made no mistakes. Laughed at all my stupid dad jokes, was attentive, patient while my companions changed their minds 36 times, and was friendly too. Says it was only his 2nd day on the job, but I wish he had been working for us at our restaurant (Hokkaido Noodle House) in Sacramento. He is a pro already, give him reasons to keep working for you boss. Don't worry, we won't steal him from you, we are retired and closed our joint 10 years ago. Rock on Archie's! You have earned a few new fans today.

Was surprised it had a second floor with a small deck and pretty decent views! Big place. Great Happy Hour Deals (half off drinks) and other specials. I haven't eaten breakfast there but the burger I'd put in the top 4 in Reno. It is giant diameter wise but the meat is the same amount of a smaller thicker burger which makes it no too hard to eat. I'd call this a Purist's Burger. Crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, sauce. They went really light on the sauce to the point I didn't think it had any. Fries were excellent too. Price is very reasonable (that's typical near a college.) I've tried Royce, Juicy's, and The Parlor. I'd put Archies below Royce and Parlor but above Juicy's. Two left on my list are Armando & Son's Butcher Shop and of course Beefy's.

When we arrived, every table was full, so we grabbed seats at the bar. It turned out to be a great spot to watch the bartenders create beautiful drinks, including some of their signature cocktails served in a glass purse for parties of two or more. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, with groups celebrating birthdays and other special occasions. After looking over the menu, we decided on the lox crostini bites and the bruschetta. We each ordered a glass of sparkling wine. I added a chocolate rim to mine, which was fun to look at, although it didn't add much flavor. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed watching the flowing chocolate waterfall. Considering how busy the bar was, our food arrived quickly. The crostini were crisp, and both appetizers were fresh and flavorful. The only drawback was the volume of the DJ, but we knew what to expect as soon as we walked through the door. This is definitely a fun place for parties and groups looking for a lively night out. One last observation: I probably wouldn't choose this spot for a group of men. The décor and overall vibe are very much geared toward women, but the name says it all.
