First the staff is exceptional super nice welcoming and was very helpful. I was super excited to try it but it was kind of a let down for me. Not enough meat or veggies for me in the sandwich but their bread is house made which was very good. Their picture looks so good and the sandwich barely closes with how much meat and veggies they show in there so when I saw my sandwich I was disappointed. Flavor wise wasn't what I was used to coming from the Bay Area. I hope they switch it up I'd like to come back and try again if they do. Oh my gosh!!!! It is sooooo good. Had the pho brisket bahn mi and my husband had the pork bahn mi. Love that my mine came with the pho broth. The broth is tasty and not overly salty . Didn't taste any msg in it. Ingredients were fresh. Love the pickles in the sandwich and cilantro. The staff were friendly and we met the owner who shared his quest in finding the best recipe for his baguette. He even shared the baguette with the new recipe straight out of the oven. Of course, I saved some to eat with my marmalade and butter for tea later! Highly recommend anyone who loves sandwiches or pho or Vietnamese cuisine to check this place out. Really good bread that is baked on site with fresh ingredients. Had the brisket pho banh mi sandwich for what these normally sell for in other urban markets a bit pricey but nonetheless still good value to other options in the area. Was very tasty and met expectations. Only downside is for an asian small restaurant the place lacks home made drinks such as viet coffee or lemonade or even house brewed tea to wash down the sandwiches. Soda fountain drinks available at McDonald's or in and out just dont cut it, and the bottled american drinks dont match up to the asian offerings. Even a fresh squeezed juice or cold milk tea would be a nice addition. Place is a small gem with constant flow of customers and the staff is friendly and helpful. Excellent sandwiches with an unusual and original variety of sandwich types. What I believe is a type of Asian baguette is scratch made on site. The bread is delicious and I think it perfectly combines with any sandwich you might choose. Inside dining is casual with a comfortable outside patio as well. Their sandwiches are pretty legit as well as their broth. I tried the oxtail one and the meat was pretty juicy and the bread was crunchy. Management took action immediately, which I appreciate. This is a new bánh mì shop that's only been open for a little over a month. Yesterday, I ordered two chicken bánh mì and one oxtail bánh mì. I repeatedly requested no jalapeños and no Sriracha because of a food allergy. Unfortunately, the oxtail bánh mì still came with jalapeños. I called the restaurant, and the employee who took my order remembered our conversation. She initially asked me to bring the sandwich back, but I explained that I was in the middle of working on something and couldn't leave. Within 15 minutes, the manager personally called me, sincerely apologized, issued a refund, and said he would retrain the staff. I told him I was fortunate that I checked the sandwich before eating it because food allergies are a serious safety issue. A family member of mine is allergic to jalapeños and has experienced throat swelling and tightness that required an emergency room visit, so I never take allergy requests lightly. The manager acknowledged the seriousness of the situation. Mistakes happen, especially with a new business. I appreciate that the manager took responsibility and hope the additional staff training helps prevent this from happening again. read more

Another good quick service place in midtown?!? Yes please! The flavor of the lemongrass pork was really good, and the portion was just right. Unfortunately, the outside of my bread was not crunchy, and there was almost no Jalapeno on my sando (This is easy to fix, I will just order it with more next time). The location is amazing, and the staff was very nice and curious about my feedback. Good spot with delicious banh mi sandwiches. I got two because why not :). I would say the hot brisket sandwich was very delicious with the pickled veggies. The beef was tender and juicy. It came with a light pho broth. The Vietalian was a fun take. They use traditional cold cuts, yummy cheese and added their Vietnamese flavor making it very eclectic. The bread is great, a good carrier for these sandwiches. Very crunchy and surprisingly light. Will need to return and try their other options. The sandwich shop is small and only has high top bar style sitting along the wall. Just order your sandwich and take a seat or take it home and watch your favorite show. Worth visiting. read more

Coming from SoCal, and hubby from NorCal, we've been waiting for a banh mi spot like this to hit Reno for far too long. Authentic food and friendly staff. And they also offer French pressed Vietnamese iced coffee. Other places in Reno either have banh mi that don't taste as good, and the ones that do have halfway decent banh mi charge an arm and a leg for one. 3.5 stars-- the lemongrass sandwiches were lacking flavor to me, but I would come back for their pho dip sandwiches. Just make sure to order extra meat for the ideal meat:bread ratio, which brings each sandwich up to ~$15 (pricey for a bahn mi) but the brisket and oxtail were both so tender and flavorful. We inhaled these banh mi sandwiches so fast I didn't even get a picture. The pho banh mi was fun to try and a nice idea, but I would have maybe liked a bit more meat in the oxtail one for the price. Some added freshness could have been nice in that one as well. I think I've just been spoiled living a little while in the Bay Area. The restaurant is clean and i was happy to find a bahn mi restaurant that opened here. I know they haven't been open long and I look forward to seeing them grow. I ate the lemon grass pork, flavor was ok, you couldn't taste a ton of lemon grass on the pork which was a bummer but not the biggest deal. One thing that stood out for me is that there was something on the cilantro that made it super salty. I'm a cilantro fanatic so for me it's important that the veggies shine on their own along with the meat to make an amazing combination in each bite.
