Came to Reno for the first time and was feeling for some Thai food. Drunken noodles are our go to order and we were extremely impressed. The place is decorated for the holidays. It's very spacious. The service is quick. We came here before dinner time so there was no way the food came out quick. Definitely get that drunken noodles here the medium spicy is on the spicier side so if you don't eat spicy, I recommend getting mild. First time here with some friends and we loved it. All the dishes were delicious and the service was great. Our food came out quick. The place was pretty busy, which was nice to see. The restaurant is on the corner with one side mainly tables and booths while the other side is a bar area. As you walk through to the restrooms you enter the West Second Street Bar area which is nice to see connected. You could have dinner and then roll on over to karaoke. Stopped in for some dinner before heading over to the escape room. I had the ginger veggie dish with tofu. Very good and flavorful. Also some chicken wings, perfectly crispy, and very yummy. The service was a little slow, but very friendly. There weren't very many people when we arrived, and it was quiet and roomy. After we ordered more people started showing up and it got very loud. Great place - in such a high traffic area. We had a party of four - came in early evening and was so surprised at the high traffic they had for take-out orders the whole time we were there. Great sign! The locals know good Thai when they see it. We enjoyed the Shrimp Spring Rolls, Green Curry, Drunken Noodles, Par Ram and Pad Thai. The Thai Iced Tea was SO GOOD! We have been going to this place for years. In fact, my husband and I met at this location in 2010 when it was a Mexican food restaurant. We have been coming here so long we love the crew so much. They always go out of their way to make sure we are enjoying our meal. They remember what we order too. My son gets the Shrimp Pad Thai, my husband gets the House Green Curry with medium heat and white rice, and I order the Pra Ram with brown rice. Sometimes I get the tofu, sometimes the veggie, and sometimes the house (chicken, beef, pork, shrimp). We often order appetizers. Our favorite are the spring rolls and the chicken Patay. I absolutely love their peanut sauce!! The seating is spacious and we never feel crowded. The atmosphere is calm. It's never really crowded. The only thing I can say is why the heck did it take me so long to write a review?! I guess I can attest to this place being tried and true! Oh, I can't forget about the Boba Tea! Yum! Yum! Yum! Ahh, I strongly recommend this restaurant if it's your first time trying Thai food and you're looking for an unforgettable and authentic dish!!! I seriously can't say enough about this place!! The service is impeccable, the Pad Thai is just divine, and there is a convenient parking garage around the corner with elevators that take you right to the sidewalk, so no having to park all around the block and then walk a mile to get there! I recently had a trip to Reno and we had decided on this restaurant. I ordered the Thai tea with boba and pad Thai with tofu to which both items surpassed my expectations. The server was kind and the food arrived within ten minutes. The only thing that really disappointed me were the other consumers which threw the whole ambiance off. The exterior of the restaurant was very cute, inside was very casual with fast seating, drinks and service albeit my table was sticky. The bathroom was nice and clean. As for the food; I ordered the Mango Boba, the tapioca was hard and the drink was far too sweet. oomf ordered the thai iced coffee and it was really good. I got the chicken fried rice at a medium spice level and it was good but nothing special. I would go here again if it werent for the price; 58$ for one mid drink, 2 mid entrees and one good coffee. This is my absolute favorite place for date night, and we took our 13yo son tonight for the first time. The staff is always friendly and the food came it fast! As a vegan, I LOVE their spring rolls with peanut sauce appetizer as a main dish (comes with four pieces). Green tea and lemon to drink! My husband always looks forward to the chicken pad see ew. On a cold, dreary night we were craving the comfort of Thai food and wandered into the Thai corner cafe. The service was fantastic, and we were helped right away and the food came out quickly. I've been coming here for 8 years since moving to Reno from SF. This place was the FIRST Thai place I found to be authentic (after checking out all other 5 stars places of Reno). Let me tell you... They are one of the oldest restaurants in this town for a reason. The quality and authentic flavor NEVER even once failed me in all these years. Other popular authentic newer places (wont name them) had multiple "dark ages", depending of the year. Like, they lost their chef or something. Thai Corner Cafe has never had an "off day". It's amazing... their food is always fresh, piping hot straight out of a wok. Amazing flavors and texture. They aren't as busy (in fact when I came in, it was empty) as other trendy places but don't forget this amazing gem!! We need this place in Reno. The AC is strong! I have been to Thai Corner Cafe twice and have enjoyed both my visits! It is conveniently located downtown near the UNR campus. The first I went for a work lunch and remember they had a decent lunch deal. My most recent visit I went with friends after work and it was relatively empty. The server was very friendly, patient and attentive. We ordered two Oops, Thai Teas, and a mango boba for drinks. The mango boba had great mango flavor and was a very large size! The thai teas were spiked with a generous but balanced amount of vodka and came in really cute painted mason jars! I love thai tea and never thought to make it boozy! For food we ordered a bowl of the Tom Kha soup, Panang curry with chicken, Spicy Basil Stir Fry with pork and white rice, and Pad See Ew with beef all to share. The portions were a bit small compared to other places but all of this was plenty to feed 3 people and have enough for leftovers. Everything was tasty but for me the Pad See Ew really stuck out! It had a really great, strong flavor and the noodles were super wide. If we hadn't been so full I would have tried their mango sticky rice for dessert and will definitely be getting it next time! Additionally, there was a weird incident that happened out in the street while we were dining and the staff immediately jumped into action and made us feel safe and comfortable until everything calmed down. And most importantly the food is still good and their prices are still reasonable (although they've increased prices like everyone else) Plan on continuing to come her . I'm. Pad Thai person. Always order Pad Thai with pork. You can always get chicken, beef or shrimp. Or have it without protein. I always order a side of peanut sauce.. because I like it. Not normally served with Pad Thai. Dined in for a quick lunch a few weeks ago. We were the only table here and another patron. I always order at least two stars Thai spicy, but my friend over did it with the spice on his pangang curry. I laughed because he was trying to not sweat, but it was too spicy for him. We shared tofu springs rolls and chicken Pad Thai. Service was attentive and my only complaint was I think there was more than coconut milk in their curry. I'm lactose, but I'll spare you the details. I remember when this spot was just a bar back then when I used to work nearby. The food is delicious, and you can order it mild (for me) or medium/spicy (for my husband). Great pad Thai, and love the cashew chicken! My husbands favorite is the pepper garlic chicken. This is very much our neighborhood go to place when needing some nourishment when we don't feel like cooking, didn't make it to the grocery store, or have out of town guests. We have been coming here for 10 years now and keep coming back for a reason - the service is good, the food is good, and they greet us like family. This is not fancy cutting edge fusion food, but is basic Thai food. We almost always order the chicken saté as an appetizer. Their peanut sauce is the best anywhere. The pot stickers and spring rolls are also very good. I very much enjoy their curry - my favorites are red , green and panang. I also love their Bra Ram and Thai Cashew. My husband's favorite is drunken noodles. They have a full bar, Boba, and Thai tea. Service is quick and the food comes out fresh and perfectly cooked every time. They do takeout and delivery.
