Tasty spot hidden in Sparks - service was very friendly and fast. Spice was....not really there on the chicken. I expected a hotter spice level and was disappointed on that front. Additionally the chicken pieces were small - more breading than meat on the chicken. The beef bulgogi was spicy and plated like fajitas. Kimchi was flavorful.

Was greated kindly upon entry. Our first try here. I ordered a 5 piece chicken wing . Kevin knows how to make chicken wings! Perfect crunch but for spicy, I feel they could have been spicier. Also ordered the spicy ramen. Ramen had a pretty good kick to it bit again, could of been spicier. To each his own. The ramen came with a small coleslaw and it was crunchy and delicious. My wife got the kimchi rice and says it was good. Im not much into kimchi so I didn't try. Nice, small space and very clean. Kind of loud when everyone is talking at once. I will definitely be back to try the bulgagi.

The service is really good, cute little spot inside the shopping center on Pyramid. The food was really good. I got the kimchi fried rice and it had a little spice and lits of flavor. The chicken wings were nice and crispy and flavorful as well. I will be back, hopefully to pop in for lunch and try something new.

Kevin's Korean Kitchen. I like it. I don't really care to refer to places as "holes in the wall", but you could really miss this place if you're not looking. This spot is fairly small, hidden in an old shopping center but one could consider this a gem when looking for some good Korean food. My wife and our youngest kid met up here one night for dinner. Our waitress was courteous and attentive to our needs, a great conversationalist with thoughtful recommendations from their menu. We had some of their house fried chicken which was good, fairly crispy, almost too...well done which sacrificed some of the juiciness. As always sauce on the side with one order, however the second order which was soy based, came with the sauce on it and it made no difference in terms of crispness. The outside of the chicken was a little dry again it took away entirely some from the juiciness of the chicken through the crust. Our daughter had the Beef bulgogi, I had the Jjam pong with rice, a fairly spicy seafood soup dish and Fritzie had Ramen. The beef bulgogi from what I heard was delicious, the Jjam pong with rice was pretty spicy the seafood, delicious and varied with shrimp and scallops and Fritzie enjoyed her savory, spicy ramen. Final verdict, 4/5. With a relatively busy and bustling ambiance, a physical room temperature that could get pretty warm or steamy with not the best air condition or ventilation especially when a spicy hot savory dish is served fresh from the kitchen (pretty cool to see, but the waitress had to open the door to keep from us coughing up a lung), to the flavorful bowls and crispy chicken. A place with plenty potential. I'm hoping to check them out again when things aren't so busy to hopefully get the best of their chicken and try their lunch special.

A recent weeknight "don't feel like cooking" brought me to Kevin's Korean Kitchen, and saved me sweating over making 4 separate dishes! The dining room was clean and several tables were dining in. The dining area is clean and welcoming. I was told you can phone in ahead for take-out which is great! The menu is...interesting, a little of everything. Fusion? Korean, Chinese, even some Japanese dishes? Kevin's makes it! Potstickers & unagi-don? Eggrolls? Onion rings?!?! Yep, those too. So, if you're on the fence about Korean food, you can probably still find something you like here. Moving on. We ordered 1/2 chicken with Soy Garlic, seafood pancake, kimchi fried rice & SPICY gizzards. The chicken was good, but could have been a *little bit* saucier? Ours seemed a little dry. Seafood pancake was great, as was the kimchi fried rice. The gizzards were SPICY, and I love hot food. Like 'have some Tums ready' spicy. 'You'll pay for these tomorrow' spicy. They're stir fried with onion, whole garlic cloves and about 400 jalapenos - not breaded and fried - if that matters. My husband devoured them and may or may not have had internal bleeding. Dishes came with a little cabbage salad, pickled radish & miso soup, too. Cool, but again, just a little confusing? It took some time to get my order, about 20 min. OK, because fresh food takes time, especially fried chicken on the bone & that makes the call in option make more sense but since this was my first order, I'm glad to got to come in and see the space. Owner was great, staff was friendly & I think if we had the chance, we'd consider dining in next time. Prices seem a little high but the portions were decent.

I want to start off by saying I hope Kevin's kitchen succeeds and it becomes a long term Reno sparks staple. This place came highly recommended, but it wasn't for me. The service was extremely kind and they checked on us frequently. I love supporting local businesses and share my experiences. Service was 10/10 and I love the casual vibe to the restaurant. I wish we had more banchan included. The chicken did come with a coleslaw and radish. My Jjiampongg came with kimchi. The kimchi did not taste right, it was extra fizzy. I grew up eating homemade kimchi so it tasted like it was a bit over fermented. The broth was flavorful and full of seafood. It was my favorite dish The bibimbap needed more protein and I think I'd love gochujang came with it or some sauce. The bibimbap was more like a salad than what we are used to. I'd love if they offered the stone pot as well. It felt like a fun fusion dish, unless we received something different. The garlic soy chicken had a great fry and crisp to it, but I wish it was coated in more sauce. The garlic soy sauce was good but def need way more of it. I know KFC is known for its crispiness with sauce.

Kevin's Korean chicken is new place that everyone needs to try everything I tried has been amazing I love the complimentary miso soup . Especially the cold days hits right on the spot. Parking lot is huge you won't have a hard time parking . They offer a variety of different dishes. And the some dishes come with rice or pickled radish and salad. Must try it all. I can't wait to try there lunch specials. The service is amazing they lady who attended us kept checking in and also had some fun conversations about the place. Do want to make aware that the plates come out extremely hot so the will be sone steam and smoke coming off the plate at times . But its totally normal. Give them a try If you enjoy some awesome Korean food.

Good was good, and you can tell that the owner is very involved and cares. It was nice to see him on-site and engaged in the kitchen, even serving. This is a welcome change of pace for smaller family-owned spots. They do have a few dishes that are exceptional and not found far and wide, like chicken gizzards. Ambiance was mellow, but very surface level with a few posters but not much else to make the spot feel homey. The prices were ok for a chicken or 1/2, but a few of the dishes are almost $30 ea, so it might be best to go in planning to share or do family style. The chicken wings are HUGE. I loved that the dish includes some banchan like daikon and kimchi. Fun surprise! Portions were OK size. I look forward to trying the fish katsu next time.

Firstly the food was absolutely amazing. I had the spicy pork bulgogi and it genuinely tasted fresh and the spices were perfect and unique. The service was great although it was only 2 people running it, a cook and the owner. The interior was clean and really is cozy although the space is small. Overall I absolutely love this local small business and is absolutely worth tr

Honest take out review: High expectations for an interesting experience. 2.5/5 Was extremely excited visiting Kevin's Korean Kitchen to get some food as both times I tried before, it was sold out! So the food had to be good right!? It was very clean tasting, it was very healthy tasting, however, I'll leave notes below on the items that made this an experience of which left to be desired. -Miso soup: 5/5 Miso soup was a good portion to start you off, good flavor for a miso soup, good textures or the items; and a good recipe so definitely try the miso! -Kimchi fried rice: 2/5 Kimchi fried rice is one of my favorite Korean dishes! This rice tastes very healthy as there wasn't much sodium or MSG in the dish. You'd get hits of flavor as you'd get a piece of kimchi in the dish but flavor left to go be desired as you're trying to enjoy the dish. -Bulgogi beef: 1.5/5 I love me a bulgogi beef! This however didn't taste like a bulgogi beef. The broth in the bottom of the dish seemed to have the flavor, but without the broth. It was a very bland and almost to be said steamed consistency for the cook of the beef. There were flavors to be had with the dish but it seemed to be very bland missing salt through the ingredients and flavor. It tasted very fresh! However, lacked flavor. If you're looking for a fresh dish alternative you might like this! -Garlic Soy Half Chicken: 2.5/5 Flavoring was amazing as you ate the chicken! Good crunch, good flavor from the sauce, however there was some of the chicken that had red in the middle... after that, I stopped eating as I didn't want to get sick in case it was uncooked. There was what looked like the spine of the chicken as this was a half chicken order, so maybe this is common, but the red in the chicken was what ended the meal in what I'd call... unfortunate. There was a side salad of which looked like Cole slaw cabbage mix in with a sauce to add yourself, and the radish was definitely pickled for sure.... Overall, I was hoping for a brighter and more flavorful experience and wanted to leave this comment as a means to help the restaurant make corrections and grow. Wishing everyone and this business a bright future and hopeful for a better experience!

I decided to try Kevin's Korean chicken today. I had a wonderful waitress name Charlotte, who explained all the different dishes and I ended up with miso soup and dumplings and fried chicken so I should refer that to Korean fried chicken so so good you need to try it. It's in the Holman shopping center in Sparks and their dumplings are awesome. Whatever flavor so you need to go there and try it again. It's not a big place but it's comfortable and they'll explain everything you want to try so again thank you Kevin for me and chicken.

10/26/2025- Stopped in to check out the newly opened restaurant- Day number 4 of the "soft opening".. Small establishment with under ten tables- Decor - a few pictures hanging on the wall- Music- not really what one would expect for a Korean restaurant - which would set the ambiance- was decent but probably add some KPOP-.. I struggled with a day to gather my thoughts on the review- Staff was very friendly and we actually were able to give feed back to Kevin -so don't be afraid to do so, 5 stars for the original chicken wings- not greasy and perfectly seasoned- ordered 5. Korean spicy ramen- was good and not too spicy- although I was surprised to see an egg in there (which I do not care for). Three sides provided- cabbage salad- just okay- kimchee- was ok- and the diced daikon- decent. Miso soup- not sure why they serve it in a Korean restaurant- but it was decent and could be served hot. Bulgogi bowl- was tender pieces of meat but could of used more meat and there needed to be some kind of sauce/liquid... I think over time and feedback they will definitely add more items as they see what the customers expect. Check them out and give them the support....

Weekday dinner with a friend, we tried the soy garlic wings, salty a bit of sweet and nice garlicky flavor, and the wings were cooked well, and crispy. They have a really nice miso soup, the quality of seaweed shines through, nice depth of flavor. My friend enjoyed her bibimbap, good portions too. Our waitress was nice and helpful, and the restaurant is definitely a casual setting. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our meal. Once you are done eating you pay at the register. We met Kevin the owner, sweet- nice man and you can tell he genuinely cares and takes pride in his food. I'll have to go back and try their bulgogi.

We went on a Thursday night, and the restaurant was probably about 45% full, so it was busy but not overwhelming. When I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly worker. I let her know I was meeting friends, and she allowed me to go find them and take a seat. The restaurant itself was nice, clean, and had a comfortable atmosphere. Our server was also very nice and brought us menus while we waited for the rest of our group to arrive. Once everyone got there, we started with a few appetizers. We ordered the fried dumplings, popcorn chicken, and I got the kimchi soup. The soup was delicious, and the dumplings and popcorn chicken were both really good too. Honestly, I could have ordered multiple rounds of those alone, but we were there for Korean BBQ and did not want to fill up too much on starters. For our first round of meats, we ordered beef belly, bulgogi, spicy chicken, and garlic pork belly. The food came out quickly, and it arrived on a robot, which was pretty cool. All of the meats were great, but the garlic pork belly and bulgogi were definitely the standouts. For our next round, we ordered those two again along with Hawaiian steak and chicken galbi. Once again, everything was tasty. We finished our final round with more beef belly, New York steak, and miso pork belly. By the end of the meal, we were completely stuffed. To my surprise, our server noticed that one of my friends had brought me a birthday gift bag, and the staff came over and sang happy birthday to me. That was a really nice touch and made the night feel even more special. Overall, this was a good experience. The food was fresh and flavorful, the service was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the birthday surprise was appreciated. I would definitely come back.

In case you're not aware, though the name of this restaurant references a specific city in northern China and the menu has dishes from across the country, their specialty is the spicy and numbing cuisine of the Sichuan region. If you've never had this before, when you see dishes listed as spicy, they may be very different from what you're thinking. It's certainly can be a polarizing experience, with many loving this flavor and many not into it at all, but the broad menu makes this a great call for everyone. Now I love dining with others who are familiar because it lets you explore the menu through their eyes and enjoy selections made by others with taste diverse from yours. My friend picked several dishes I would've never noticed or ordered blindly this time, and I'm so happy about that. We enjoyed the cold Woodear or black fungus in chili oil, classic snow pea tips with garlic, as well as the quintessential Sichuan cumin lamb, but the other three dishes we had were 100% new to me. Those included Sichuan snails (unshelled in an oily spicy stir fry), scallops with garlic and vermicelli, and crispy spicy intestines. The snails were a win. These are small and somewhat chewy morsels that get wok fried with fried chili, chili oil, peppers and onions. The texture is similar to sautéed calamari, but a bit firmer, and the sauce coats everything with that signature numbing heat. The scallops were the big miss. This dish typically comes in the half shell with fresh scallops, but here they're using a lower quality scallop (likely frozen) and a lot of pre-minced garlic (like you'd find in a jar). It looks impressive but the scallops had absolutely not flavor and the texture was rubbery too. Skip this one for sure. The intestines were the surprise. I've had fried intestines and they crunch like a chip and have no distinct flavor that lets you know what you're eating. These were sliced on the bias and wok tossed until super crispy on the outside with a delicately chewy interior. The sauce really amplified the flavor and this all made for a great bite within the whole meal. All in all, this is a home run. If you haven't been, I urge you to check it out, as it's one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants around.

Tucked away in the back of an unassuming shopping mall is Chinese cuisine well worth making a trip for. I was immediately greeted when I entered, and started with some hot tea. The intestines came out crispy and piled high with red fried chilis and szechuan peppercorns. I am a huge spice nut and this absolutely hit the spot! (If you have a low spice tolerance you may want to ask for less spicy as the server did not ask how spicy I wanted it). The cucumbers were the perfect accompaniment to balance the heat and numbing from the chilis. When I first looked at the menu, I thought the prices were a bit high. After seeing the enormous portion sizes, it all made perfect sense. There was easily enough for 2 full meals for me (245lb, 6ft3in man with an appetite). The portions are clearly designed to be shared. On that point they also feature traditional Chinese style banquet seating with the lazy suzan in the middle for family style eating. All told I was extremely impressed with the food quality, service, portion sizes and ambiance. I will absolutely be adding Shanghai Bistro to my regular rotation!

Let's just say, I've traveled to several countries in Asia and lived most of my life in Northern CA eating quite a bit of Chinese food. This doesn't make my an expert but it would be fair to say, I am quite familiar with what is considered mainstream traditional Chinese cooking. But let's get to the food, with the caveat that I realize that everyone's preferences can vary widely when it comes to food. So my opinion is based on what one would find in Hong Kong and San Francisco. The chicken chow mein had all the correct ingredients, long noodles that were slightly thicker than say spaghetti, had the correct amount of softness without being mushy. Chicken was presented in slices and appeared to be white meat, there was some white onions thrown in there for some texture and flavor. Normally when I order chow mein, it isn't served with a brown "gravy". Not that this dish was swimming in it, but think of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Replace the red with medium dark brown and you get the picture. Now my guests who are Reno locals, thought it was great and flavorful. I would agree with the flavor part but it was much too saucy for my tastes. Would I try Chin Chin again for noodles? I'm not sure but the owner did state, they can make dishes any way I like, so perhaps I'll order off menu next time. The stir fried mixed vegetables is where I was most disappointed. Let's start with the ingredients. All were sliced in 2-3 inch pieces, which included button mushrooms, zuchinni, bamboo shoots, brocolli, carrots, and onions. This dish could have passed for a savory vegetable stew. There was a lot of gravy, so much so, that it colored all the vegetables brown, except for the carrots. The sauce had a slight "twang" to it, almost vinegar or worchester-like. Not my thing, I could not taste the individual flavors of the vegetables because of how heavy the sauce was. The brocolli was over cooked where the flowerette parts were pale. I prefer my vegetables to be just cooked, almost snappy. I would not order this dish again. No comments on the restaurant itself as both times I tried it, was for take out. So bottomline, would I try Chin Chin again? Yes but I will be very specific on how I would like my order prepared. Maybe for their lunch special.

Inside, there're Chinese menu items all along the wall, with a nice and intimate vibe. The server was nice, and we were seated quickly. I got the build your own combo with popcorn chicken and the beef noodle soup. Everything in the combo was tasty, but I do wish that the vegetables were unsalted, since everything else has a very strong flavor. I would definitely go again!

Unfortunately, the flavors were quite different from what I expected. The food wasn't bad, but it tasted different from what I'm used to. The popcorn chicken was more on the sweet side rather than savory. The fried rice was okay but not very flavorful. The zha jiang mian was also sweeter than expected. Usually the ones I've had in Asia are very savory. I've even had zha jiang mian in Alameda, California, and that version was savory, not sweet at all. At one point my husband even wondered if they might have accidentally used sugar instead of salt. The mapo tofu was also a bit too sweet. The best one was the beef noodle soup. That was 7/10 it was my favorite out of all. In general, we didn't enjoy the food very much. The service was okay. I understand they were very busy, so it's understandable. The restaurant itself is clean but extremely packed and busy.
