We enjoy natural wines and thankfully AI suggested Day Wines. After a rather beautiful but stuffy and unfriendly tasting earlier at another winery (that we are members at!), our experience at Day Wines was the polar opposite. We were greeted by the nicest staff, and although we were their last appt at the end of the day, they warmly welcomed us and never rushed us. We enjoyed chatting to them about the winery and their wines. They also brought out an extra wine off the tasting based on what we chatted about, and we bought a few bottles to take home, including a couple of the bonus pour. It was hard to only buy a few! It was $25 for a tasting flight of 5 wines, which especially coming from CA seems super reasonable. They also waive tasting with $75 wine purchase which is easy to do. Very glad we found Day Wines, and I can't wait to share with our friends and enjoy at home! Excited to see what comes out from them in the coming years.

Yes, many offer lemonade, soda, and ginger ale, but I'll be honest, I don't tend to drink sugary things and it's just kind of meh to be sipping a clearly non-alcoholic beverage with my other grown up friends. :D I want to feel like a grown up, too! Duck Pond Cellars offers a WHOLE FLIGHT's worth of mocktails, huzzah!! The presentation was thoughtful and beautiful. My favorite of the flight was the Orange Mule. It is the perfect spot to spend a lazy summer day. Or any day! As you enter the driveway, there is a beautiful iron gate which welcomes you to the long driveway past the pond and up to the gorgeous stone building that houses the tasting room and event space. We were there during the summer and the fragrant roses were in bloom, along with other flowers, adding the perfect pop of color. They have created various seating spots in the shade of trees, either tables or settees and comfy chairs. Maysara considers themselves stewards of the land, and as such, respect the land so it remains for future generations. They are a fully biodynamic and sustainable winery. For example, they grow a variety of medicinal and dynamic flowers & herbs that are turned into compost teas to fertilize and create nutrient rich soil without chemicals or pesticides. The resulting wines are truly a result of nature, combining the Persian vines, rich soil, and climate of the Oregon Coastal Range foothills. We all opted for a flight that started with three whites and finished with three reds. I'm usually a big, bold red fan so was surprised and delighted to fall in love with their Pinot Gris. It was crisp and light, so refreshing on a warm summer anfternoon. I also loved their sparkling rose. actually, I liked every wine we sampled! Each of the wines are named after various Persian legends, and as the wines were poured, we heard the stories of the wine's namesake, and learned about the grapes and process. It was very enjoyable. Maysara is a special place. I can't wait to visit again for more delicious wine and to take in the peaceful space they created.

The other reviews are not kidding when they praise the view! The space is absolutely gorgeous-- the tasting room feels luxurious and comfortable, and tables are not too close together. But wow, the view takes the cake. You overlook the vineyards, and even though it was cold and cloudy we were blown away. What really impressed me, though, was the service. Our sommelier, Adam, was incredibly personable and a joy to talk to. Further, he was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of the wine-- not just the tasting notes and region. He knew a ton about the history of the land/winemaking in this specific part of Oregon and the ecological preservation efforts of winemakers in the area. He produced photos and diagrams of different soil types and explained how they impact the taste of the wine when we did side-by-sides. When I mentioned I had a chemistry background and expressed interest in the chemistry of the winemaking process, he was able to speak in detail about their wines and the ways they are made (probably because he's actually worked in the cellars, too, not just in customer service). As I have mentioned in other reviews, I don't always feel like I get a great customer service experience at wineries because my partner and I are pretty young and because I often have on alternative makeup. We were given A+ treatment here, and I want to thank Adam for making the experience feel special. The wine was good. We got a bonus pour of one of their sparkling wines to start, which was lovely and a nice romantic touch since we were celebrating. I liked their Chardonnay (concrete egg and VERY light oak which is probably why-- I don't like a heavy, buttery Chard) and was surprised it was so good-- it was a seven-year-old white which is unusual, but it really worked. We got side-by-side pours of the pinots, which was great-- I love when wineries do this! It makes it so much easier to taste the different notes. We ended up getting a bottle of their Riesling. The tasting was $25, which is an absolute steal for the level of service we got. Truly a wonderful time, and we look forward to returning.

There were no tastings available, but given the weather we had just driven through to get there, and bc my friend is a certified somm with the CMS, we decided simply to create our own tasting experience from the single pour options made available. Other reviewers have also mentioned it, but when we sought input from the staff to make our initial wine selections, our experience of service was underwhelming. It was frankly a little disappointing given the status and caliber of the house. Gratefully we met Ben who was solidly helpful; he appreciative of our Quest to create a meaningful tasting experience for ourselves, even if we had not been able to score an appointment with a venue host. He was very knowledgeable and spoke to with us without condescension, intelligently answering our questions about the vineyards, wine making processes, and house history. With his help we also learned about some excellent options for dining in the area. Ben poured our selection of four wines and we chose to take the glasses outside on the patio as the rain had stopped. We helped another couple with photos they were trying to take, and then were able to film a few tasting clips against the picturesque back drop of the vineyards. We ordered a serving of the gougères, which came out warm and were delicious. I picked up a bottle of the Zeraphine Pinot Noir for the friend who had recommended the winery, and Mac picked up three bottles including the estate chardonnay, to return to Canada with. From the start, when we walked in, we were warmly greeted until the time we left, we had an absolutely extraordinary experience. Our host, Connor, was phenomenal. He was exceptionally well-versed and shared a wealth of knowledge about the wine and the estate. Every single wine we tasted was an unforgettable experience in itself. After our tasting, we walked up to the garden on the hill overlooking the vineyards, and the views were simply breathtaking. It was the perfect finale to a wonderful visit. We cannot recommend this place highly enough and definitely want to go back! Thank you to Connor (also Vincent - helped us with our French) for an amazing and fun time.
