Came for the bright season brunch with a few pals and it definitely put some smiles on my face. The highlights of Silva are most definitely it's staff. Full of talent and joyful energy, along with beautiful decor and colorful things to look at throughout the room, this place is a special experience in Grand Rapids. Eclectic for suuure! There's basically some type of a performance happening every 10 to 15 minutes. They also advertise multiple other events and spaces and I think I heard about a hibachi somewhere too lol. The funfetti pancakes were pretty delicious. However, I think this place delivers more on ambience than it does on food. If I'm being totally honest, I would definitely come back for a special event or simply for the vibes.

The vibes at Silva are off the chart. Magic, juggling, and more? What else could you want. I didn't sample the menu this time around but it seemed like they have a cool selection of things. The bar was also neat with specialty drinks to try. This place seems like the spot to come for Bocce and group parties. I will definitely be returning.

This was the violet gin cocktail that was recommended. A play on an aviation. It was super tasty!

I'm so excited to have Silva in town, and especially happy they are on the north side! I was finally able to check them out last Saturday with a friend. It was pretty busy, but we were able to get seating at the bar right away. Service at the bar was great! We had at least 3 bartenders checking in with us, so we were never waiting long for anything. They have me a recommendation for a cocktail when I said I like gin, and it was delightful! I had a French 75 next, and it was also very good! My friend had the cava, and liked it as well. We didn't order full entrees, but we split 2 appetizers. The andouille jalapeno croquettes were delightful! We also got the sticky ribs per the bartender's recommendation, and while I don't eat much meat, the flavor was amazing! The meat fell right off the bone! I love the vibe of the whole place and I'm looking forward to going back with my husband for a full dinner. The circus theme is something different, and they had stilt walkers roaming around the while time, which was cool. The space is huge, and I'm excited to see more of it. Bonus: the bathrooms! I fully appreciate that the locks are visibly red or green for occupied or vacant, as well as having a separate urinal in the unisex bathrooms so the toilet doesn't get gross.

Silva feels like the result of taking a Benadryl with a Red Bull. It's high energy, dreamy, whimsical and feels like you've fallen down the rabbit hole. We visited. On a Friday evening around 8 o'clock and they were filled. Cozy booths with birthday parties, romantic couples, tucked away, talkative patrons at the bar. The staff was hopping, but service did not suffer. Everyone was upbeat and we were quickly served our beverages. For dinner I ordered the fried bologna sandwich and my husband got the shepherd pie to start with. We got an order of jalapeño and andouille croquettes. The croquettes came out first and they were fabulous! Just the right amount of crunch with a creamy interior of potato and sausage. While we waited for our entrées, we took in the scope of the area. Everything is decorated including the serving staff. They all have a theme individually suited to them. Then there's the entertainment. Three dimensional, shiny rabbits, parade, and danced for tables. You just never know what you're gonna see when visiting here. Our food came out shortly after we finished our appetizer and it was so good! My sandwich was buttery with thick cut pieces of bologna that have been fried previously to being assembled on a sandwich. My husband Shepherd pie was a perfect combination of flavors and paired well with his Perrin Black. We were too stuffed for dessert, but the desserts on display looked incredibly enticing. No visit to Silva is complete without checking out their dart and pool table room as well as their spectacular bocce ball courts, which are now available to rent or join a league I was pretty overstimulated by the end of our visit but if you were looking for an experience, definitely check them out.

This cool new space is really interesting and I'm excited to see the rest of the space. Billed as a "dinner-tainment" venue, Silva has a large dining room with beautiful decor (love the giant black disco balls) and coming soon: indoor bocce ball courts and a music/event venue. There's also a room with a pool table and several dart boards that is open to guests. I've been twice now, once for the ribbon cutting and most recently for an early dinner on a weeknight. They are not currently taking reservations so try for an off-peak time. I think they have roving entertainment (think circus acts) but maybe only on Fridays/Saturdays. I've tried the Silva platter, sautéed greens, short rib sandwich, cookies, deviled eggs, cheesecake, and apple crisp! Everything I've had is good but my favorites are the ribs, sautéed greens, and short rib sandwich. Oh and the cookies! They were crisp yet soft and perfectly chocolate-y. The short rib sandwich is decadent and savory. It needed a little punch so I added the pickles from the plate. The menu is a bit of an eclectic mashup of American favorites and some Asian flavors sprinkled here and there. I'm interested in some of the larger plates - our server highly recommended the cobia (fish) entree which sounded delicious. The huge circus themed bar is really cool to look at, and the vibes are interesting with lots of artifacts throughout the space. Also I'd recommend checking out the bathroom - maybe even all of them. Trust me. There is plenty of street parking as well as a lot off Mason. I'm excited to see how this venture grows and evolves as they continue to open up new parts of the building.

Silva is an amazing addition to the Grand Rapids food and entertainment scene. I went in on a Saturday night and the place was hopping. They don't take reservations yet, so we put our name in for a table and were told it was a one hour wait. They text your phone and you can click the link to monitor where you are on the waitlist. We got lucky and found two seats at the bar right away, so we cancelled our spot on the waitlist. The other redeeming factor of a long wait is there is a big room with dart boards, a pool table, and a cocktail waitress so you are entertained while you wait. The bocce room isn't open yet, but you can see it under construction through a window and it looks huge and amazing. The food and drink menu is very diverse and all of the cocktails we tried were amazing. I ordered the Sheppards pie and my wife got the crab Rangoon sandwich. Both were very delicious. The food also came out very quickly, considering how busy they are, which was impressive. The beer selection was very good and beer prices are spot on for an entertainment venue (about $5-7 for a beer). Any more expensive and I would imagine less people would go for the entertainment/darts/bocce. The only very minor complaint I have is the bar stools are attached to a fixed spot in the floor, so they are not movable. This leaves plenty of room between you and the guest next to you, but I felt like my wife was a little further away than I would have liked with the distance between the stools. They were having a "rock, paper, scissors" tournament between all the guests and staff which was really fun, but we didn't get to see any of the entertainment acts/shows they are supposed to have. I figured this was because they were doing the rock, paper, scissors thing that night. Will definitely have to go back to see the other entertainment they offer. Silva is an amazing addition to the Grand Rapids downtown area. They did a perfect job converting the giant old warehouse building into a very cool restaurant and entertainment venue!

Fun and intriguing space with lots of options for food, drink and entertainment of larger groups or just your cozier ones. Expansive bar with great decor, dining room with booths and the various areas for games, private meetings all with industrial and retro vibe. Bathrooms :) each with its own theme and theme music. The food is great and they have some vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. Can't go wrong.

Place is still really cool and unique. The Caesar salad is different, basically a crispy chicken with some shredded Caesar on top, it was okay. Wagyu steak I was told was too salty.

What a fun spot! This place is huge, and the circus theme is super unique for the area. We were pleasantly surprised that there was a sword swallower while we were there- and it looks like they regularly have some talents in. Our server was helpful and attentive, and it was moderately busy while we were there (around dinner time). We had the ramen deviled eggs and jalapeño popper croquettes to start. Both were great, but the jalapeño popper croquettes were phenomenal. We split the crab rangoon roll and short rib sandwich for our entrees. I liked how light and refreshing the crab rangoon roll was, and the short rib sandwich was pretty good too, but honestly, I thought the starters were the star of the meal!

This place is going to be THE place to be. Whether you're drinking at their carousel-themed bar, eating delicious food with various acts like magicians, or playing darts or pool (or the eventual pickleball) you could spend hours here. Plus, there's going to be a music venue in the future. What more could you need?! Grab your friends and family, and go. I'm ready to go back! Service was fantastic - especially for being a new restaurant. Plenty of street parking. I had two drinks there: Silvia Nevaada Old Fashioned (four roses/SN Pale simple/ Angostura Bitters) and Blue Does Everything (Magellan Gin/Elderflower/Tonic/Sparking Wine). The Old Fashioned was good tasting, but the Blue Does Everything stole my taste buds (and was definitely boozy-forward). I ate the Silva Dry Aged Burger (7oz. dry aged beef on a cornmeal tavern bun, muenster cheese, and fancy sauce) which was good, though a little red for my preference, and came with seasoned fries. Also had the mozzarella sticks. They weren't my favorite - something about the breading was off, but still good.

Bocci ball courts, pool table and darts.

I perused the food menu and checked out the merch. Sadly they did not have the tshirt I liked in my size. They also sell beanies, glassware and hoodies. Oh, and beer to go! I enjoyed the two IPAs with Good Good being my fave, followed by IPA#1. The porter was good and so was the Kona brown. The fade was my least fave, and it pretty much tasted like Guinness, but I did drink it all. I have preferences but I also have values! Lol. The off duty employee and I chatted awhile, even looping in the bar tender and my other bar stool neighbor, especially when it came down to naming the artists on the decorative candles (see pic). We were having so much fun that we decided on her having another beer and me getting a couple more samples. The Mosacca IPA was really good. The Economy, gotta love the name, was also good and the most affordable beer! Look at them looking out for the people. Loved this place. The locals are friendly. They have a smaller dining space, so a reservation is recommended (you have to call, no online option) but when we arrived, they were ready and seated us promptly! We each got some sort of steak, potato and veggie combo and it was all VERY delicious! They offer you complementary homemade bread (this did take a bit of time, but they were warm when they came out) and we easily devoured it! I will say that it was a little slower than anticipated, but still very good. I would hope the bread would come out sooner than our appetizers. I ordered the caesar salad (very large) and included bleu cheese which was not listed on the menu. I would definitely list that on the menu unless it was an accident? We got bleu cheese on the bruschetta which listed another cheese, so again, I do think that they need to disclose this. I like it but most do not! I also ordered the $29 steak deal, which for the size and meal, I am very happy with! I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked properly. More rare than medium, which is how I like it! They also gave us some complimentary rolls and butter. My Caesar salad was fresh and tasty, and a large portion for a side, but it had a lot of blue cheese crumbles, which wasn't listed on the menu. I personally love blue cheese, so I didn't mind, but it's a pretty polarizing ingredient so it surprised me a bit. The bruschetta was a really big portion and very delicious. I liked the amount of topping and the bread help up nicely. This dish also had blue cheese crumbles on it when we tried it. The steak menu is interesting and varied, and I like that all the cuts come with a potato and vegetable side, which isn't typical at fancier places. I went with the 10 oz barrel cut filet with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and I also ordered a side of the mac and cheese. Our main courses took a little bit of time to come out, but I was pleased with the meal. My medium rare filet was definitely more on the rare side, but I didn't mind. The mac and cheese was tasty but the sauce was a bit broken. It also had peas in it... not listed on the menu and also kind of weird. I liked it though! We were interested in the dessert options, but it sounded like they haven't really rounded that out yet as they just had a couple cupcakes. Our server was very kind and helpful and pretty attentive. I think the value is great and it's a less stuffy, more casual option than Chop House (plus more affordable). I will definitely be back!
