Loved this brewery for the setting, food and obviously beer. The burria tacos were absolutely delicious. The beer was tasty too. Big place with a laid back atmosphere. We will definitely follow them to their new location when they open up.

Our first trip to City Built was on Cinco de Mayo. It was busy with fun Mexican music. The menu is listed on code on the table which made it difficult to ask questions. The serving staff was very busy due to the holiday. We started with a shrimp appetizer which was delicious! Two had the taco platter with a choice of steak or chicken and rice and beans. Very generous portions!! The burria taco platter was amazing. The beef is indescribable! Two of us shared. It comes with a beef dipping broth. The steamed shrimp plate was so flavorful. The next time we come back we hope to delve more into the menu items. Love the place

Cozy spot for a large group low-key hang. Drink options were pretty diverse. Got the nachos which were pretty good, beer cheese on it was unique. Def got a bit salty and couldn't finish the plate, probably better to share. Also vegetarian options with jackfruit tacos that my friend got.

Lively corner taproom with solid beer options and a great food menu. Plenty of outdoor space as well as indoor dining space, this location gives a ton of options and capacity to entertain small or large groups. The tacos were amazing, they have great rotating taps with seasonal or new release beers as well as some year round options. Across the board, their beers are pretty solid (I'm not a connoisseur but do love a crisp craft lager) and you can do a flight or short pours. The staff was great, bartenders were lovely, and definitely will be back again!

City Built has been a solid place every single time we've came. The beers are great, the food is great, and the staff are friendly and relatively quick, even when it's busy.

5oz beers. If you want a "sampler" or flight of beers, you just need to select your beer voice then select 5oz (for this size).

Food 20 out of 10, beer 20 out of 10, service 20 out of 10. 20 out of 10 would recommend!!! Can't want to come back to Grand Rapids!

Great flight variety. Loved the Wobbly Pop. Crisp and refreshing hard seltzer paired with the Jackfruit taco especially good! Chicken Tinga taco paired nice with Friday night crusher. Cubano sandwich with yuca fries excellent with Marzanna (Oktoberfest) or the Werewolves. Good clean atmosphere. Service attentive even with busy.

Everything about this brewery is unique and well Done. They have the best IPA in Grand Rapids, great beer selection, fair prices, and unique gourmet food. They have lots of board games to help pass the time. Also, the owner is Latino and we have got to give a shout out for more minority owned breweries! Beer: 5/5. Try all the IPA and sours, they are either above average to great! While most IPA I had in Grand Rapids were malt forward and lacking nuanced citrus notes, this place nails it. The porter And barley wine were also great, and wish I could come back to try their seasonal stuff. Food: 5/5. The spicy chicken gumbo was gourmet, not the usual black and cayenne pepper mix. It had layers of flavor and just the right thickness. My wife had the fried chicken sandwich and she liked it too. They had salads as well for those being healthy Ambiance: 5/5. Plenty of bench and booth seating indoors, and some outdoor tables with shade. They had dozens of board games to help pass the time, which was ideal for my non-beer drinking friends. The vibe is busy, not loud. Value: 5/5. The quality of the beer and food matched the fair price. Not too fancy, just quality. Service: 4/5. Slight wait given the crowd, but the bartenders are friendly and efficient. Table service was for bussing and dropping food off, you will have to order at the bar. Overall, my favorite brewery during our weekend in Grand Rapids!

Went here on a Monday and the kitchen was closed but they had. Pizza truck outside. Ordered The Yankee which was very good. Had their Underground and seven year beer. Both excellent. Disappointed that their kitchen was closed on Tuesday as well but their beer is great!

Tonight, their stuffed chicken special was recommended and I loved every single bite. Even the asparagus was delicious, and I truly despise that springtime vegetable. This night, the place was packed with people engaging in conversation and not staring at their phones or at some television. The brewery doesn't have televisions and I love that. Unfortunately, the food, beer, and service were all just okay for me. The beers were pretty mediocre, and we tried the duck confit nachos, which sounded much more exciting than they actually were. They were fine, but nothing particularly special or memorable. Service was also mediocre. We had a pretty large group, so I'm sure that didn't make things easier, but we waited about an hour and a half just to be seated. Part of our group was made up of small children, and it seemed like we could have been accommodated sooner given that there was plenty of flexibility with our seating. Overall, I really wanted to love Brewery Vivant because the atmosphere is so unique, but the experience just didn't live up to the setting. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come back.

As soon as you walk in, there are games, chips for sale, and a water cooler with reusable cups. The place was busy. Many folks eating and drinking. There were two seats at the bar, both on either side of a young lady; so I asked if I could take one and she said yes! As it turned out, she was an off duty employee just having a beer. We chatted a bit while I ordered a flight. I love that the flight is not limited. You can have as many 2.5 ounce beers as you want! Each are priced separately. I perused the food menu and checked out the merch. Sadly they did not have the tshirt I liked in my size. They also sell beanies, glassware and hoodies. Oh, and beer to go! I enjoyed the two IPAs with Good Good being my fave, followed by IPA#1. The porter was good and so was the Kona brown. The fade was my least fave, and it pretty much tasted like Guinness, but I did drink it all. I have preferences but I also have values! Lol. The off duty employee and I chatted awhile, even looping in the bar tender and my other bar stool neighbor, especially when it came down to naming the artists on the decorative candles (see pic). We were having so much fun that we decided on her having another beer and me getting a couple more samples. The Mosacca IPA was really good. The Economy, gotta love the name, was also good and the most affordable beer! Look at them looking out for the people. Loved this place. The locals are friendly. Did not eat but all the food I saw looked good! Would return to enjoy more beer, fun convos and to buy a size small shirt!
