We popped in here because we had to try out the top brewery in the downtown area we kept hearing about. Right when you walk in you feel like you've stepped back in time. It really gave me Game of Throne vibes. They had a great menu for the beer drinks as well as the non-beer drinkers like me. Great place to sit outside and have a drink or two.

Great staff and service, and seriously unmatched food! We loved their pretzels and beer cheese and their pickle pizza too

Wow, what a fun spot!! It felt like all of Grand Rapids was here on a Saturday evening! This spot offers an incredible vibe-from the outdoor seating and frequent live music, to cornhole and green space. We enjoyed the Elote dip appetizer and our cocktail flight. Super yummy slushes, brews, and one of the best fried chicken sandwiches in the area! Also friendly service for such a busy night!

I wanted to go to a nearby bar, but that place was too loud and too crowded. So instead, I walked over to New Holland. The place is quite manicured. It might seem like a tourist trap, to some. As you enter, you see the big dragon and a gift shop to the left. There was a host stand but I bypassed and went straight to the bar. A couple of gals were reading their books while eating and drinking, so I took a seat next to them. Figured it was a safe space since I was alone. It took awhile for either of the three bartenders to notice me. But I did end up getting served a glass of water and offered a drink menu. Another bar tender came by and answered my question about a beer flight. Apparently there is a a cocktail flight was well, but with limited options. I ordered my flight of beer. IPA is pretty standard for me, so I got the tangerine and the peach IPAs. The peach was my fave! I also got the Ichabod, which is their seasonal pumpkin ale, which I totally hated. Last, I got their limited offering of Blue Sunday sour, which was great! The bartender came by a few times- the gal next to me reading was his wife! So she and I chatted for at least an hour. I told her I had heard they make their own gin and I was interested in trying it. She flagged her husband, who gave me two small samples: one of blueberry and another of regular gin. Both were pretty good but the blueberry was by far, better. I looked online at total wine- they don't have it at home. Oh well. I'm telling you I was lucky to sit by the bartender's wife. I told her the ichabod was gross. So she flagged her husband and got the Mercilessly Malicious for me, which is a white sour, and I liked it. I'm super thankful that they traded out of of my beers at no cost! For the flights, you're not limited to four choices. You can have as many as you want, for the price of the 6ounce on the menu. 6 ounces is a lot, which is why I only ordered four. They offered me a food menu but I had already eaten. I should've at least looked, but I also heard from locals their food is mediocre at best. Overall, I had a great time sitting next to the bartender's wife and chatting with her about everything and anything. I ended up staying an hour longer than I would've otherwise. Seems like a fun place to grab a drink with friends. Lots of indoor, patio and "outdoor/indoor" seating. The outdoor/indoor is like Oktoberfest style picnic tables. The parking is non existent. You gotta find a spot on the street and the lots are pay for parking. It's tough to find a spot as there are a ton of restaurants and bars in the area so it's packed. Next time I'll check out the gift shop and possibly bring a bottle of their blueberry gin home. I'll also try something off of their cocktail menu. They've been making spirits since 2005. I only knew of their beer before my trip to Michigan. Their distillery is about 40 min away from this bar.

Panzanella salad is now my go to item on the menu. So glad I tried it. Pepperoni pinwheels are always a favorite. Tried the bees nees cocktail this time. Almost like a lemony whiskey sour ...but with gin. ;). Very busy but great service. Ambiance was great.

Tangerine space machine was my gateway into IPA's and I can thank The Knickerbocker for that! It is always pretty busy in here, but the staff does a good job at keeping up. I would consider them to have elevated bar food. I got the burger this past time, nothing to write home about, but it definitely did the job.

Place is huge, drinks are good. Pickle pizza and the dry rub wings were my favorite by far. Sometimes it's busy so service depends but no complaints!

This is a really large space! Cool vibe, I really liked it. I kind of love how tall the ceilings are (even from the outside looks really cool), and how when you walk in, the bar is on your right, with tall table tops next to the bar in case you are waiting for a table and just want to get a drink, but the bar is too full. We got the Dragon Pot Pie and the Beef Stroganoff. Both dishes were really good, but I liked the Beef Stroganoff more. The pasta was cooked el dente, and I loved how the sauce was not too overpowering. The beef was quite tender and, well, it was overall a very solid dish! And quite plentiful, too. This is a dish I'd get again. The Dragon Pot Pie was really good as well but was just a little too salty for my taste. I couldn't really finish it because it was just a little too salty (my friend had no problem with it though). I have to say, the crust was where it shined. Oh my. The puff pastry on top was GOOD. It had just the right amount of crunch on the outside of the pastry, but underneath the slightly hard baked exterior was soft. The texture was really great. Overall, great experience and very cool hang out place! There is street parking on Bridge Street and on streets perpendicular to Bridge Street. I've been on Bridge Street many times and even during peak times, I've managed to find a spot.

It's a great place to eat and drink whether it is mixed or a beer. The sandwich I had was tasty and filling. I watched my brother-in-law drink a pumpkin beer and love it, I just don't do pumpkin. They had a sale on it so he went home with 24 cans LOL The staff was polite and quick to refill our drinks. The place was clean and well-kept. The gift shoppe was well stocked.

This brewery is a short walk from the convention center and my group was so surprised with the roomy space considering its downtown. It has good vibes with both indoor and outdoor seating and a more industrial feel. We sampled many different food and drink items and all of their summer drinks were DELICIOUS! We each had different ones and we all looooved them. If you are looking for tropical, fruity, sweet drinks - try their seasonal summer menu! Their food items were also good. They have the typical bar food - pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, but my friend also had the salmon dish which was a healthier light option and she enjoyed it! Service was quick and easy!

After a lovely early afternoon of strolling downtown Holland, we were warmly greeted by the shining staff of New Holland Brewing Co. As we were quickly sat, we were attended too nearly immediately and often. Our experience enjoying the hummus platter was simple yet effective and a grand start to our meal experience. Our burgers were most enjoyable and the wait time was most reasonable! A lovely environment for a girls day or a family meal! We also wanted to shout out the pomegranate lemonade! At first it is surprising, but has a bit of a holiday flavor that compliments the meals wonderfully!

Brewing gone Boujiee! Brewery #264 I'm a big fan of New Holland's Dragon's Milk stouts which you can find all over the country. We stopped in while brewery hopping around Grand Rapids just looking for some grub and a flight. While there is no dress code per se this place felt much more upscale than a standard brewing. I felt under dressed in my basic White suburban dad attire, you know ball cap, cargo shorts and t-shirt. (At least my sneaker game is better than the all white New Balance) Anyway, we were seated immediately at a 2 top on a Saturday despite the place being pretty busy. I ordered an El Jefe Cubano. This is not a standard Cuban sandwich, instead of thin sliced pork there is pork belly. It gives it a different texture but it was still good but again different. On my beer flight I got a Mad Hatter (Midwestern IPA) Peach Space Machine (Hazy IPA) and 2 different Dragon's Milks (S'mores and a Vanilla Chai). The IPA's were solid but the stars are the stouts. Both phenomenal but the S'mores was like having dessert by a campfire. Phenomenal. They also have a big gift shop onsite that sells the usual t-shirts, stickers, beer and such but also sells locally distilled spirits and other cool items. I bought a bottle of Dragon's Milk simple syrup to try in my cocktails. Overall a cool place but dress better than I did.

Yes they do. They have a bunch. They required reservations a couple weeks ago. You should check their website before you arrive.

I'm not certain whether they are offering happy hour during reopening due to COVID. Before the pandemic shut down restaurants, happy hour was 4-6.

    Do they have live music?

No, but the atmosphere here is awesome you gotta go if you've never been

    Cut off time for minors?

I don't think they have one here. I've brought my underage nephews here several times and this seems to be the most kid friendly bar in GR

Unfortunately, the food, beer, and service were all just okay for me. The beers were pretty mediocre, and we tried the duck confit nachos, which sounded much more exciting than they actually were. They were fine, but nothing particularly special or memorable. Service was also mediocre. We had a pretty large group, so I'm sure that didn't make things easier, but we waited about an hour and a half just to be seated. Part of our group was made up of small children, and it seemed like we could have been accommodated sooner given that there was plenty of flexibility with our seating. Fryz'licious was slightly overpowering with the amount of beer cheese slopped on there, but a good bite with some hot sauce. Big fan of the beer cheese. Those Nantucket Backing pretzels are 10/10. Fish and chips weren't great. Not a lot of fish--two pieces with more batter than cod. Sort of disappointed with that. St. Patrick's Day specialty menu replaced their chicken pot pie with a sheperd's pie and a Bailey's cheesecake. Sheperd's pie was a good bite, exactly what I'd imagine lamb, mashed potatoes, and peas/carrots would taste like. Cheesecake was heavy handed on the booze, but a good palette cleanser after all the fried food.

I perused the food menu and checked out the merch. Sadly they did not have the tshirt I liked in my size. They also sell beanies, glassware and hoodies. Oh, and beer to go! I enjoyed the two IPAs with Good Good being my fave, followed by IPA#1. The porter was good and so was the Kona brown. The fade was my least fave, and it pretty much tasted like Guinness, but I did drink it all. I have preferences but I also have values! Lol. The off duty employee and I chatted awhile, even looping in the bar tender and my other bar stool neighbor, especially when it came down to naming the artists on the decorative candles (see pic). We were having so much fun that we decided on her having another beer and me getting a couple more samples. The Mosacca IPA was really good. The Economy, gotta love the name, was also good and the most affordable beer! Look at them looking out for the people. Loved this place. The locals are friendly. Did not eat but all the food I saw looked good! Would return to enjoy more beer, fun convos and to buy a size small shirt!

I looked on City Built's website to see the menu before going there (of course) and found out that Los Mariscos De Pancho is now serving their food here which was a nice surprise since I have tried them at their Leonard location a few years back and enjoyed their food! I wish I could've tried some of the food that City Built had before since i had heard good things in the past but loved the combination of both City Built and Los Mariscos De Pancho! While browsing their website, I also found out that there would be open mic night on Thursdays and live music/ concerts on Monday nights which is always fun! We sat at the bar and we were pretty close to the musicians so it was kinda loud but my friend and I were still able to have our conversation. We came on a Thursday night around 6:30pm and it was already a steady amount of people there but as the night progressed the restaurant was more busy. Street parking wasn't too hard to find at this time or maybe we just got lucky.I believe the meters are free after 7pm! Walking in, there's bar seating, booth seating, high top table, coffee table seating, and bench style seating where you can sit yourself. There are 2 different entrances and in front of the main one there's patio seating! We opted to sit at the bar this time since most of the booths were full and it just happened to work out that way. We started off with drinks an alcoholic and non alcoholic version of the Agua De Jamaica and an order of the Garlic Butter Mussels. The my NA Agua De Jamaica was refreshing and much needed for the hot day. The mussels come in a serving of 6 or 12 and next time I would definitely order 12 right off the bat because we ended up ordering another round LOL. The sauce was so good I could drink it. The cucumbers were a nice refreshment/ palate cleanser from all that garlicky, buttery goodness. Just writing this review makes me want more right now! I also thought the mussels were a good size too so I will definitely be ordering those again. We also both ordered the Birria Ramen which came with Texas toast which I've never seen before. The portion size of the ramen was very filling since I was stuffed before our 2nd round of mussels came out (which took longer than anticipated to come out since we had to check to see if the order was put in). I also ordered the Birria Plate (4 birria tacos & consume) to go for my husband, which I should've ordered a bit earlier because of how long the mussels took. In the meantime, my friend wanted an expresso martini which they don't normally serve, but our amazing bartender made his own version with what he had and gave us both a cup to try. I don't even drink expresso martinis like that but the drink he made was delicious! I also heard that they have great beers too but I can't speak to that since I drink beers like that. Overall loved the vibes in here. They had different entertainment options like the live music and a few different board games to pick from. The ambiance had lots of natural light, and cute string lights, and overall a nice place to have dinner and drinks! Service was a bit on the slower side, maybe for this particular day, but everyone we interacted with was very friendly.
