We went on a Friday night and had a blast bowling, singing karoake, and hanging out. The specialty drink that night was a Steel Reserve adult slushie that tasted so little like alcohol, yet packed a nice punch. The only issue we had was how long it took to get our food. The staff was super friendly and explained they were slammed and short staffed. Although they told me it would be about 1/2 an hour longer, it was out much sooner. Silva Lanes, is nostalgic, the lanes are equipped with bumpers for children. They have a variety of bowling balls to choose from and shoe rentals. The bathrooms are clean. The bar is untidy, the pool table area could use some TLC. It didn't stop us from enjoying a few games. There are plenty of tables and chairs. No need for the tables sticking out of the walls. I ordered a Sex on The Beach adult beverage, it was refreshing, with good flavor. There is a small restaurant, we didn't order food. Many others did, they seemed to be enjoying it. They have a pinball machine that I had to play. Great way to spend quality time with family and friends. Plenty of lanes! read more

If I could zero stars I would! April 30, 2025 my husband, my sister and brother in law, and I went there to bowl and have a good time for our anniversary. My husband and brother in law went and got food and they didn't have any pizza available and it was only 9:30pm so they got mozzarella sticks and fried zucchini and drinks. The blond lady that was working checked my husband ID and sold him one shot which was a (special)green tea shot and I frozen margarita. He spilt his shot on him so he went back to get another one and the man I assume is the manger for the bar checked his ID and told him that he can't serve him because his ID is expired and my husband told him that the girl just sold him liquor and had no problem with it. My husband saw the manger also sell liquor to a lady that also had an expired ID and he said "oh I can sell to you" which he did but he told my husband that he couldn't sell to him?.... I went up there to buy myself a drink and the "manger" assumed that I was getting the drink for my husband and I told him now it was for me he checked my ID for a long time then finally gave it back and made me the drink. Not even 5 minutes go by and the "manger" come over where we were bowling and was yelling at my husband saying that he wasn't allowed to drink bc he has a expired ID and was trying to snatch the margarita that he bought (from that girl that was working) out of his hands. He then proceeded to say that we needed to get out and he is going to shut our lane down because my husband wasn't allowed to drink because of his ID, remind you he embarrassed us in front of everyone and he wasn't professional at all of the situation then called my sister in law a ignorant bitch while he was walking away. We tried getting our full refund bc we were only there for 30mins and we paid for 2 hours to bowl and we got only 40 dollars back. Plus we asked for every employees name and they would not give us them. All in all this was my first and last time there and I don't recommend going there unless you want to have a bad time! read more

Our school was supposed to have a 5th grade graduation party here today but when the students arrived, they were informed that they had leagues in a couple of hours and could not accomodate our reservations for 10 lanes. Instead they gave us 3 lanes for 47 students, with no apologies whatsoever. They even acknowledged our PO last month. We are livid and so dissapointed in Silva Lanes. I have been bowling at Silva Lanes for over 26 years when it was Eu-can. Before I become a league bowler. The staff is young and friendly. What makes them great aside from being a good family hangout? A variety of food in the kitchen and tasty drinks in the bar at a reasonable price. Also they offer Kids Bowl Free program, there's the best summer deal! I have met some of the best people in my bowling leagues. I would totally recommend joining a league they have something for everyone all skills, and ages from 3 to infinity! Rumor has it they'll be some great changes coming. The bowling ally was ok but the karaoke area was one of the worst places I've been to. A friend of mine ordered two shots and two drinks. The bartender charged him about 80 dollars and when he went to ask them about the charge. They completely ignored him and kept his copy of the receipt. The woman in the front just really hate working there. There's only a nice older lady that was nice. First time going there and taking my kids the lady gave me attitude and was not nice at all. It was an inconvenience to give us shoes haven forbid we needed a different size. Second time going I made a mistake on the app after trying to rush over there and holding my son. I was already stressed I made a mistake and that lady there made sure I knew it. She almost didn't let me and kid's bowl. She was so rude giving dirty looks at me. This place has no idea what real customer service looks like. I was so excited to sign up to take my kids bowling but I don't know how you overcome such terrible service. SO BUSY. This place was as busy as i remember it as a kid. It's literally been this busy for DECADES... So, why haven't we used any of those profits to do some upgrades? It's a bowling alley, so i get the dark hide-out vibe, but your equipment is literally falling apart. There's a difference between a vibe and a hazard. This place is an ABQ staple - have some pride, man. Always enough bowling balls to choose from, with real options for my fatty fingers, which can be a challenge. And heck, this place is efficient. I've been to this place many times in the past, and their bowling is great, however, at this time (Feb '22) they are in gross violation of the NMDOH Mask Mandate. I am here with my 14yr olds school activity, and am concerned for their safety! At least they are wearing masks. Inside, barely anyone is wearing a mask. No signs are posted, and the manager, when confronted with it claims as soon as they put them up they're torn down. Here for the state tournament. You can see all of the bowlers turning red and sweating profusely. Yet no matter how miserable everyone is, they refused to turn the AC down. Hard to enjoy anything, including the bowling, drinks, snacks, or games when you're sweating profusely. We drove 3.5 hours for this nonsense.... read more

I'm an amateur bowler at best. I was in a pizza and beer league in college and I have my own ball, but that's it. I love to play, but for me, it's all about the fun, the friends, and the atmosphere. This place doesn't disappoint. They have a fun atmosphere with generally pretty good music, reasonable beers, and a clean atmosphere. Seems like a bit of a party place on the weekends, maybe a little crazy, but I think it's still okay for teens and kids to come and play. Fun. Staff was friendly, and that includes the bowling staff, the bar staff and the food staff. The lanes are in good shape and the scoring is nice and automatic. No complaints in any of that. read more

It was a beautiful day so why spend it inside a bowling alley? Well, Groupon had a nice little discount of $13 per hour for one lane, usually $22. The service at the front desk was good, they knew what to do with the online form of the coupon and had us running in no time. I ordered a couple of beers and they were delivered in a timely manner. Most of the place is old with updated restrooms and some newish paint on the walls. The lanes are kind of beat up from all the kids lobbing the balls. The scoring systems are just ok, nothing fancy or new. The grill is full of greasy food and it passes for edible. It's not classy, polite, coordinated, clean, nor pleasant. But it's also not expensive, posh, trendy, nor stuffy. It is plain, greasy, old, visually confusing, and sometimes fun. The bar can be fun late at night when the karaoke is going. Be careful with the bouncer staff; they're a little sensitive and not very welcoming. The nicest aspect of the bar is some of the staff, certain bartenders in particular. There are sometimes a karaoke DJ and a bartender. Weekends are kind of rowdy and rough. Weekdays are hit or miss. There are a couple of bar size pool tables in the far back. Although you can't tell if it's supposed to be 50s style sock hop, 80s loud colors, or modern sports bar, it's usually dark so you don't have to see much of the insides. Have a few drinks from the limited bar, meet a few local, bring a friend to sing, and forget about any of the day's troubles here at Silva Lanes. The last time I was here I had trouble with a bouncer or doorman when I arrived near closing. I don't know exactly why he took issue with me but I just walked out. Bouncers can be professional when asking patrons to leave. This one was not. I'll be back for karaoke sometime and mention it to the manager. read more

If I could give this place zero stars; I would. We were bowling and the people next to us came and removed the bowling ball we were using without an explanation. We had to stop our game to find out why it was taken. We were told it's for kids 8 years or younger and we could not use the ball. Even though no kids were in need of the ball. The attendant became hostile and said she was going to turn off our lane and demanded we leave because I complained about the vaping going on right next to us. These young kids that work there said the owner vapes and called me every curse word they could Whor* B* Slu*. Talk about humiliation. They pretty much stated the owner is okay with their disrespectful behavior. If you vape that's your business. Have respect for others who do not. Worst experience ever! This place needs to be shut down. The smell that hits you when you walk is terrible. We should have left at that point. We didn't. The shoes were so old they felt like slippers on our feet. We searched for a half decent ball for 15 minutes and then began bowling. If you can call it that. We bowled 5 frames and had to wait three different times for staff to fix the lane. We finally had enough and asked for a refund. The "manager" who knew absolutely nothing about customer service refused to give us a full refund. No apology for our experience, nothing. It's a bowling alley and I go here to bowl about twice a year - for the Rosh Hashana Bowl O'rama (private event, invitation only), and the Super Bowl (ing) - provided for those who have better things to do than watch a gaggle of men with protruding supra-orbital ridges engage in a crypto fascist metaphor for nuclear war. Totally old school (get it, get it?), this place will take you back in time! I don't think its been updated since it was built. However, you can almost always get a lane, the place is full of an eclectic mix of daddy/daughter, oldsters day out, group of friends, first date folks who just want to do something together where they get to move around and maybe have a drink and a snack, and talk and interact, and just HAVE FUN! We've been here several times, as well as another place on Lomas. Each has its charms and each has its issues. I think I prefer this bowling alley in general. The music choices at bowling alleys are generally questionable at best, but this one plays some stuff I like, and rarely plays stuff I deeply despise - I think that's about the best you can hope for. The food is just typical junk food, but they have tater tots - BOO YA! Excellent. They also recently got one of those multi-soda machines. I don't really drink much soda, but I do love diet peach Fanta - not something you can find just anywhere, so fun to have now and then. When you do have food or drink - you can have it at your table. This is a big deal to me. I do NOT like leaving my drink unattended at the table along the back wall, as the other place requires. It seems like the worst idea ever, for so many reasons. So being allowed to have food and drink at the table is a big plus. It's been a little while since we had been here, so I was happy to see some really nice changes. They remodeled the bathroom, for one thing. SO MUCH NICER NOW! It used to be a little scary and pretty gross. Now it's really pretty, clean, and nice. Such a massive improvement is extremely noteworthy - two thumbs up and brought them up a full star. The bowling balls are a big problem - I don't know if they mostly get kids playing or what, but it is extremely difficult to find a ball that has finger holes an adult can use. They are TINY!!! There is also the kids - and their parents. Lanes are generally by the hour, so there is nothing more annoying than kids taking up your space or blocking your lane - or as happened this last time - four adults "helping" a kid bowl, blocking the lane on each side of the one they are using. Cripes... Not really the alley's fault, so not affecting my rating here, but really - parents, you and your spawn are not the only people on the planet, be conscious of your surroundings. The shoes have always been fine with me - we recently bought our own so we no longer have to rent, but previously had no issues with them. They have a pretty good bar (which you can apparently have a wedding reception in... weird...). Decent selection and prices, overall thumbs up there. And you can take your drink to your lane - yay! We played last week with six people in one lane - it was crowded, but we had a great time. In general, this is a really fun time, a great place to bowl, and a thumbs up from me! read more

I went to a fight club in the bar area last week and boy howdy was it an amazing location. Steph behind the bar dose not play games. If it's your first time at fight club she will damn sure make you fight. Try the hot wings. The draft taps are clean but the bathrooms are covered in some white powder not sure if it's a soap I'm not familiar with but when I tasted it I wanted more then my face went numb and I wanted a cigarette. Stay away from the bathrooms either way because you'll have dudes just chilling getting ready for their next fight. read more

I've been going to Silva for many years. This place is a LITTLE pricey when it comes to bowling. Every single night it turns into a club environment with music so loud you can barely hear your team when it comes to giving pointers or bragging so that's a slight annoyance. They have karaoke and it runs pretty smooth, but the service at the bar is exceptionally slow. I mean, when you order a drink, you might as well order two because it takes a while for them to make a drink (and we're talking basic drinks, like rum & coke or vodka/soda). Forget asking for something more complicated. I skip food there. It's all greasy and there's nothing healthy on the menu. Otherwise the staff has always been friendly and the bathrooms are clean. Went on a Friday night with some friends, their "galactic bowling" started at 10 pm. Unlike our usual bowling ally on the lights were only turned off over the lanes the lights were still on in the back of the lanes which takes a lot away from black light bowling and only 1/2 of their colored ceiling lights were working. The service at the cafe was very rude, when approached we were greeted with a "what do you want" we asked what the "Buffalo bites" were and were snootily told "chicken with sauce". Bar service was lackluster at well, service priority was given to everyone inside the bar before I was even acknowledged at the lane service window, bottle beers were warm and the jello shots were rubbery, to much gelatin, took over 15 minutes to get 2 to beer and jello shot. One lane got turned of 3 times before time expired. Would give 0 stars if I could, will not be returning. read more

Pretty good bowling place. Nothing spectacular about this place. Just a regular ole bowling alley. The thing that turned me off most about this place was the bad service at the food center. Always a good time bowling here. The staff are helpful with getting the most bang for your buck. We had a group of 12- 4 adults and 8 kids ranging in age from 4 to 14. We got set up with three lanes and a combination of standard games plus all-you-can-bowl for the older ones. Having individual bumper settings was a nice feature so the big kids didn't feel stupid. I am disappointed to say that I do not think I will be bowling here again. During my latest visit I felt disrespected and in the midst of a dump. The wait was 20 minutes, which was fine so I had decided to wait in the bar. Right as I entered, the bar tender was very disrespectful and had a huge, negative, attitude with me. When I finally got seated I never received service, not surprising as the bar tender socialized the entire time. After being disrespected the bowling lane that was given to me had trash and spills everywhere, pretty gross. Some advise, train your employees on how to provide better customer service and clean up the lanes when other groups are finished. read more

If their lanes are packed and all of their current guests are extending their games they give you a 15 minute ETA on when a lane will be available. An hour later they give the same ETA. On packed days not every customer gets an equal opportunity to have fun and bowl. The lanes are in great condition. They always have one bartender so it takes very long for you to get a drink. read more

Last weekend, my friends wanted to go bowling for my birthday. Can't remember the last time I bowled. I would have given them 4 stars if the women's bathroom wasn't so run down. We were able to get the lane right away bc we got there before all the leagues started. The alcohol beverages were delicious & bar service was fast. The gooey fried cheese was yummy.
