The bartenders are cool, people are cooler, and the beer is cheap. Come here for a chill spot to listen to some good Tejano jams.

Morrissey hadn't graced San Antonio in over 10 years, with past cancellations and postponements haunting fans along the way. So when he finally returned, San Antonio Moz fans showed up and showed out. Despite multiple after-party options across the city, fans from Brazil, the UK, Canada, Japan, and all across the U.S. chose Bang Bang Bar as the place to be on a cold Saturday night. Hosted by local emcee Ricardo Moz and Apollo DJ, the night turned into one for the history books. Bang Bang Bar is easily one of Texas' best dive-lounge bars...the perfect blend of gritty and cozy. Great cocktail program, solid beer selection, and a vibe that just works. The décor leans heavy into a 1950s-60s lounge aesthetic, with intimate spaces like the Blue Room and Yellow Room, perfect for groups of 7-10. Low lighting, warm atmosphere, and zero pretension exactly what you want for a night like this. Bang Bang Bar consistently supports local and touring acts, spanning punk, alternative, and DJ-driven nights, and this Moz Smiths Disco was no exception. It was wall-to-wall classics all night long. Major credit to Phanie and the Bang Bang Bar management they rolled up their sleeves, brought in extra bar staff, and handled an overwhelming crowd like pros. Fans waited up to 45 minutes in the cold, with a line wrapping around the building, and the energy inside never dipped. As the host of Panic On The Streets, I'm incredibly thankful to Bang Bang Bar for helping us pull off one of the best after-parties we've done in years. Fittingly, 2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of both Bang Bang Bar and Panic On The Streets of San Antonio and what a way to celebrate. Bang Bang Bar has long been one of my favorite bars in town, and after this night, that reputation is more than earned. Can't wait to do another Moz Smiths Disco here. -- Panic On The Streets of San Antonio

They were happy to answer my questions and I was never made to feel rushed. The bar itself has an awesome vibe. It's divey but offer fancy drinks. The bar has a stage (we've seen FEA perform there) and they have ample seating (tables, couches, stools, etc). I also enjoy how each couch area is its own living room setup (think of what you see when shopping for couches/coffee tables) and feel/vibe. I make it a point to come and visit this bar any time I'm in San Antonio. We love supporting Phanie and her bands in any way possible. Girl in a Coma and FEA 4ever!

You know the night before a holiday urge to go get a drink in your hometown feel? I know it and I…read morewas super excited to see Slow Ride come up as an option for me and my sister to pop in and catch up over some drinks. Parking along the street is free (along the fence line of Sam Houston) and was not an issue even for a holiday. There is a paid parking lot that is secure and available too so note that if ever you have an issue finding a good spot. Walking into Slow Ride is like walking into your tio's (uncle) or a grandpa's cool, 70's/80;s vibey, and home-y bar. This is the kind of spot where every picture you take of yourself, or your friends, will look like you took it in the 80's! This is not a bad thing either. Seriously. It IS A VIBE here! Cushy seats at the bar was my favorite spot to hang out while we had some cold beers and a shot to go alongside it too. They have beer and shot combos here around $8. You get plenty of choices on beer and liquor of choice. I opted for a tallboy Lonestar and a small shot of the Mexican Candy. My sister got a Live Oak Hefe in a can (she likes Blue Moon so this was the closest thing to it and she liked it!) and later a Shiner in a bottle. I also decided to close out with a daiquiri that was super delicious and offered in nice glassware. Patio out in the back is spacious and a great spot to hang out with a group of friends. The back space is taken care of and has a modern look to it out there. I can see it being a nice vibe outside on a pretty day too. Jukebox is legit! All great music selections from all genres on CDs and pretty cheap too to play 5-8 songs. The artwork around here is worth a look around too. I love all the unique Garfield toys surrounding the bar area too. All of the back bar is so great with the wooden shelving and lighting too. You can see many honorable nods to those who currently or have served. It's a great thing to see especially so close to Sam Houston. One thing I have a pet peeve on is any service bar who has to keep my card on file. I am the worst person who won't remember so I have to be extra careful when bars keep my card. I usually walk and don't mind paying the 20+% tab walk fee but I do want my card back so I have to get everyone who is with me to remind me to go get it. That's why I am giving it 4 stars. I am looking forward to coming back in the future and bringing some more family and friends, though. This spot is so nostalgic and their social is super active and will promote DJs and sets happening that week and into the weekend. Go check them out and play some pool. You're gonna feel like you are in a Matthew McConaughey movie when you do. Tell me I am wrong!!!

We chatted with co-owner Nathan and had an enjoyable evening. They just open a couple of months ago... We will definitely be back!

The last time I invited a friend...the regulars all knew my friend. The lighting is nice and dim. The outside area is a bit smaller but I'm ok with this. You probably will want to be inside for the dart, pool, and music action anyway. I will definitely come back.

The Texas sun, however, was doing its absolute best impression of the surface of a star that day, and we were desperately seeking an oasis of air conditioning and fine spirits. We stumbled upon your establishment, and I'm now convinced it was less of a coincidence and more of a divine, thirst-quenching intervention. The positive experience started before we even breached the doorway. The security guard out front wasn't just a guard; he was more like a friendly ambassador to a better, cooler dimension. He greeted us with a genuine smile, not the usual stony-faced glare that makes you nervously try to recall if you've done anything illegal in the last 48 hours. As we stepped inside, we were greeted by the owner herself as she was on her way out. She actually stopped, smiled, and welcomed us in. In this day and age, it's not every day the head honcho takes a second to greet a couple of random, heat-stroked travelers. That single, classy gesture told us everything we needed to know. And we were right. The inside is impeccable. It's the kind of place that makes you feel a little more sophisticated just by being there. The bar staff are basically wizards; true alchemists of alcohol who are not only incredibly friendly but are clearly masters of their craft, slinging drinks with an effortless cool. Now, let's talk about the main event. As someone sitting here back in the Coachella Valley, I am practically weeping with jealousy. I wish we had bars like this! The fact that I have to get on a plane for this kind of experience feels like a crime against humanity. Do yourself a favor and order the Deep Eddie Pineapple. Don't ask questions, just trust me. It's like a tropical vacation in a glass, and it might just change your outlook on life. You'll want to send me a thank you card later. Don't. Just buy another one and toast to my excellent advice. A huge thank you to Morgan and the entire team for a truly memorable night. You didn't just give us a drink; you gave us a highlight of our trip and a fantastic story to tell!
