I've been here several times and decided to venture out. My state decided to open up for indoor dining in mid June. I'm just now slowly but sporadically going out in July. Happy to see that at the silver dinner all the waiters and the rest of the staff were wearing gloves and mask. Only one customer didn't have on a mask despite a sign saying mask only. We stayed away from him. There is always going to be one and they let him come in and eat so... I always eat breakfast here when I come no matter what the time of day so today was no different. I had eggs over easy, bacon and waffles nothing special but it was delish as usual. I'll probably try to go out at least twice a month. I'll say if you go out to eat make sure they seat you where there is very little people around whether you choose inside or outside dining and go to restaurants with disposable menus and the staff wear mask. They should have been ashamed of themselves to send my food to me the way it was sent out. I ordered eggs Benedict and pick them up via curbside to go. All of the food was slid into one side of the box. The egg off of one of the pieces of eggs Benedict was on top of the other eggs Benedict. They told me my food will be ready at 3:15 PM, I called them at 3:13 PM and they said they would be right out which, makes me super suspicious because it makes me feel the food has been sitting there for a while. Well, I open the food up to eat the mess, the slop that they decided to send out and it's cold.... I don't know about you but if I pay $16 for a meal I expect it to be at least warm when I get to eat it. I only went five minutes away from the restaurant before I decided to eat my food so, I don't want to hear about how I took too long to get home and that's why it was cold. Also, the easiest meal in the world to make, a BLT, how do you screw that up? Well, ask Silver Diner in Waldorf they can tell you! Burnt bacon, no mayonnaise and wilted old lettuce. This was definitely one of the best dining experiences I've had. The food was great and they had plenty of vegan substitutes. The staffing was small this morning because they were opening. We had a server named Maggie. She was amazing. She was on top of everything. We had a conversation about her tattoos which led to us discovering that we both are outside the "spiritual norm". I have always loved silver diner for the atmosphere and quick delivery of food. This particular experience would have deterred me from patronizing any Silver Diner if I was not already a fan. We arrived on Sunday, before the church rush and were seated immediately. I typically order my daughters food first so it comes out quickly. You know, kids and patience. While her food came out in a timely manner, after 20 minutes I found myself munching on her chewed pancake. Where's our food? Where's our server? The server arrived to inform us that there was a mix up and the food has been delivered to another table....blah blah and that someone would be right over to explain. Manager arrives, gives a certificate for free food for next visit and 20% comp on today's bill. Food comes out (FINALLY!). The scrambler with vegan sausage was amazing. Mimosa was ok. Pancakes, per usual, fluffy goodness. But, where's our server? Oh there she is! "We need the bill, please!" 10 minutes later (SpongeBob narrator voice). Where's our server? Ah! Well we were sitting out there for about six minutes before we realized that no one had come out to offer us drinks. Ha breakfast last week and everything was well prepared and well seasoned even though we went at busy time. Today for the first time, I tried an entree salad for late lunch.
