    Big Daddy after being seasoned
    Carter P.

Edit: The owners reached out personally to remake the order. I appreciated the consideration and will assume they must have had an off day. The restaurant is carry-out only with good service. We ordered a few of the featured items off of the brunch menu. Unfortunately, the food was bland, misleading, and small in servings sizes. The Big Daddy was far from big and contains only 1 slice of bacon. The Mama T was better in taste but sad in quantity. However, the biggest problem were the home fries. When ordering you can see pictures of home fries on the menu. What we received was far from what was shown. Instead of the tradition cube shape that was advertised in the picture in the menu, we received thin flaccid slices of potato that were incredibly bland. I had to season them myself when I got home. I received better rations when I was on the run in Greece. Hopefully, their lunch and dinner menu is better for anyone who wishes to try this place, but I suggest considering another breakfast spot.

Seems like this place is still an undiscovered treasure. Hubby and I went for happy hour one Friday evening and it was definitely a vibe. The prices are truly HH worthy. And the drinks are on point. The DJ that was there that night stayed in the sweet spot. I left with my belly and my dance card full. I would come back and bring my squad.

Cute little Irish pub. We came here for brunch. I ordered a little mama and got the eggs and an omelette style with cheese and also grilled chicken. Babe, got the create your own omelette, and he used egg whites with turkey and cheese! We also ordered a few flavors of the mimosa... Kind of creating our own flight. The flavors we included were pineapple, mango, apple and pomegranate. I also got a coffee... All of the mimosas were delicious. Our favorite was the pineapple !! Our server was awesome and attentive. He always had a smile. Omelette and chicken were a little well done for my liking, but overall we had a great experience for a chill Sunday morning!

We made a meal out of appetizers. -Mozzarella sticks (we): crispy with the perfect cheese pull -Southern Maryland Crab Dip (he): I'm allergic to shellfish, so none for me. He said it was good though. -Sliders w/fries (we): juicy, medium-well and delicious -Booze: on the rocks and plenty of liquor --an Irish take on a Long Island Ice Tea (he) --something with rum in it (me) This was MUCH better than our first visit (St. Patrick's Drive location) a few years ago. We dined on the patio and enjoyed the sunshine. It was an extra bonus to have the area all to ourselves. What a great way to celebrate Sweetest Day :-)

I'm following up from my last review because the owner responded with something that I want to clear up. In my first review I stated that after I was seated, I waited for about thirty minutes without being seen before I left. The owner, Katie, replied to my review and said that she checked the camera history and saw that I seated myself. It's hilarious to think that I would be so unaware to the point where I would go past the hostess and seat myself. Why would I do that? Have I never been to a restaurant before? I'm sorry but that sounds accusatory, and is COMPLETELY incorrect and untrue. I even had my girlfriend call ahead of time and ask if there was a wait and the hostess told her that there was no wait. When we got there, an older lady sat us down. I'm assuming she worked there because she was literally sitting behind the hostess table and wearing the uniform. Oh and my girlfriend called back to ask for the manager and complain about our experience, the manager said that she (the lady that sat us) was new and this was something that had happened before. I just wanted to circle back because I feel as though my integrity as a paying customer was being put into question.

    Mussels
    Elaine S.

We started off with the mussels sautéed in bacon, garlic and onion were very good. So good we ordered two pounds between the three of us. Only comment is that I like my mussels not as cooked well. They were still delicious and the garlic toast was perfect to dip in the generous sauce. I also ordered steamed spiced shrimp with Old Bay and the Brussels sprouts. The spiced shrimp was steamed perfect not well done like the mussels. The Brussels sprouts were tasty and not roasted (the usual) but probably sautéed. My friends had: the Fish & Chips, no complaints about the meal; and the Steak & Guinness Stew, the only comment was that the vegetables in the stew were semi cooked, for being a stew - meaning the vegs should've been softer. Overall, the dining experience was good, our waiter was attentive and the atmosphere was subdued. A nice quiet and overall pleasing evening.

Not worth the stop...The tables, food quality and decor is straight up raggedy. The bar area is not bad with a jukebox, five tvs and drinks... but since it is a whiskey bar, you should consider ordering whiskey because the wine selection is trash! The service was not bad and they are very accommodating. Frozen food fried to perfection with no flavor... pass there are better places to spend your money in Waldorf.

This is one of the best restaurants around! The whiskey challenge is a great touch! We had Lauren tonight and she was WONDERFUL! Food is still wonderful and service was outstanding! Absolutely love how the manager makes sure to talk to you. Plus they support the military, which is still just so great to see!

Stumbled upon this hidden gem today and my family and I are super impressed. The service was outstanding (ty William for being a kind, genuine, and top tier server) and we think it may have been a manager who was also Checking in at our table ? The team here was really great, the food was on point, and the interior was really charming ! We've only been in the area since 2019 but this hands down has been our favorite dining experience !

Starting with the pros: our server Milano was great. He gave great recs and was patient with us, he was also our bartender initially. I enjoyed my cocktail and my biscuits! I will note it took a while to get our food and I wonder if some of it had been sitting because it wasn't hot hot. But my fish was darker than one of my sisters who ordered the same thing and hard. A part of me thinks maybe the grease was old ? My grits were stiff and couldn't even be stirred (also not hot). As I was eating I noticed a hair in my fish, I let out sever know and he asked me if I'd like something else or for a new dish. I opted for a new dish and asked for it to go. That fish was cooked perfectly and the grits were edible. I also ordered a side of the crispy smashed potatoes and the potatoes were just small round potatoes with unseasoned onions and green peppers tossed in the bowl. Across our party someone's chicken (chicken & waffles) tasted old. And 2 people didn't receive their sides (eggs, potatoes) from the kitchen so they just ensured they were removed from the bill. I will say there was a lot going on that day (a pedestrian was hit in the parking lot) but I don't think that would have an impact on the kitchen staff. I'd possibly be open to trying another location but wouldn't return to this one.

The vibe here is of a casual diner, with an expansive menu that changes often with the seasons and local eats. I will admit I almost did not stop here because it was near closing time and I hate order from place near closing. I got here near closing and the food was just as fresh as if it was opening time. We all know how it is getting somewhere to eat near closing time.... You tend to get subpar service and food. You subject to getting a scraps, bad orders, guilty eye rolls from your server, "ain't got this, "ain't got that," issues....lol. But, this was not the case at this Silver Diner. It was a great experience from beginning to end. Our bartender/server was Cameron C. and he did an amazing job serving us and making us feel welcomed. He's truly a people person. He kept the drinks on point while we waited for our food and made sure our orders were prepared exactly how we requested. During this visit, I tried the Short Rib Burger, Loaded Fries as a side & Buffalo Wings. Everything was delicious and fresh. And, the burger was the star!...A juicy 1/2lb burger pattie cooked to perfection....topped with bacon & tender braised short rib!! It was complete meat overload, super fresh and sooooo good! For anyone that is "meataholic" like myself...you gotta try this thing. My wings and the loaded fries complemented my dish well too. Not to mention, everything was packed well for the long haul and drive back to DC....of course, I couldn't resist and snuck in a few bites of the fries at each stop light heading back down Route 5. Let's just call it a #qualitycheck! lol ;-) In all, I enjoyed my visit. This location gets two thumbs up in my book. I chose the fried chicken, meatloaf, and chicken & dumplings with turnip greens and mashed potatoes. The restaurant was pretty empty, and while the country store area is always charming, the dining room itself felt very cold .....literally. I will say my waitress, Tamara, was amazing. She was incredibly sweet, attentive, and made sure my drinks stayed full. Truly top-tier service. As for the food, it just wasn't good. The fried chicken was crispy but had a strange, almost watery taste. The meatloaf was dry and not appetizing. The chicken & dumplings were the only decent item, but it's hard to mess that up. The greens and mashed potatoes tasted old, and even though the biscuits and cornbread were warm, they tasted like they'd been baked earlier and reheheated. The peach sweet tea was good, though. I usually come to Cracker Barrel for breakfast because their pancakes (with the crispy edges) are good. But lately, even breakfast hasn't tasted as fresh as I remember. It could just be this location, but overall the quality feels like it's declined. The value is there for the portion size, but the freshness and flavor just aren't. I hope it's not the brand overall, because years ago Cracker Barrel tasted hot, fresh, and truly country. This visit just felt old and reheated.

It is located next to a convienance store and there is ample parking available between the two. The restaurant has a small dining room with a few tables and chairs. They have a large Connect Four and Jenga game in the dining area for customers to hang out and play. You will see a couple of televisions in the dining area. One was off and one was playing music from a music streaming service. The service started off a bit slow, but it picked up eventually. I ordered a Philly steak and cheese with a side of greens, French fries and Mac & cheese. It took about 25 minutes for me to get my food. With that being said, I recommend calling your order in ahead of placing it on-line. The owner, Kim, is awesome. She is very friendly and full of personality. She gets to know her regulars and loves her community. As for my food, there was a ton of it. The Philly was packed with meat. I really liked my sandwich. The Mac and cheese was delicious. Very cheesy. The greens were definitely fresh and did not taste like they were from a can. They were just like my mom use to make. There was a ton of food, and I could not finish it. I got a container, put my left overs in it and finished them off later that evening. I recommend checking this spot out for some decent home-cooked soul food.

NOTE: It would be even nicer if they had a classier clientele instead of the types of people who were there during our lunch today. They had their phones on speaker and were talking loudly, with no regard for others around them. Another group had two young children who were running around for awhile. Really, Rucci's ought to have AND ENFORCE a no-loud-conversations policy so that people can enjoy their dining experience more. This could be a really nice place with that type of commitment to proper decorum. Our food was very good and portion sizes were big. I got the Tony Soprano sub and my partner ordered the Reuben sandwich. We both thoroughly enjoyed them.

The service could have been better, but I don't think it was the servers fault. I was there for a bday party for around 20 ppl to include a dedicated kids table and 1 server to cover us all. 3-4 meals were not captured and I and 3 others had to wait until after everyone else was served to get our food. In my case I was given someone else's pizza (just pineapples) and the server took mine back and basically sprinkled Italian sausage crumbles on top. The environment was good. Family style bar/restaraunt with that local community staple vibe. Nice. Everyone was friendly, the bar tender was personable and I didn't drink anything just watched a game in the bar tv awaiting for my fam. I would go again if someone asked me to and maybe if in the area and wanted to have a drink hit the bar.wasnt the best experience but was a decent one. 3 stars seems adequate rating.
