Polite & friendly, but I feel they definitely price items. I brought in a ring with an appraisal, and first thing I was told "the appraisal is just for insurance purposes". Given the diamond ring was appraised by Brown & Co in Roswell for $3,250, it felt insulting for their "high offer" of $299. They wanted to offer only $275, but could "go up to $299".... Seriously?! I had a notarized document, and they couldn't even go above $300 on a ring valued over $3k?!? Sorry but don't waste your gas and time checking out this shop. read more

The staff at this store are very helpful. They are patient on the phone and in person. They buy and sell a variety of items. The store was crowded on my most recent visit so I was able to browse the items for sell before speaking to a sales associate. I was there to see how much some coins I collected were worth. They primarily wanted to purchase the coins that contained silver. I decided to keep the coins. I would go return if I wanted to sell other items. read more

Silver Dollar has all kinds of items for sale: estate jewelry, collectible coins, silver, gold, handguns, gaming systems, speakers, watches, and different odds and ends. Also, some of their jewelry travels around the country at trade shows, so they'll rotate out their available jewelry roughly every month. How do I know this? This is a fantastic pawn store!~ It's a newer generation to the beloved, decades old Cherokee Pawn off Highway 9 which was since acquired by Cash America. I've perused Silver Dollar many times and always find something fabulous! First time, I found a beautiful two toned Raymond Weil watch for $120!!! A friend subsequently mentioned how it must be a fake (they couldn't believe the bargain I acquired!), and I took it to a jewelry store to have it checked out and it's 100% authentic. Flash forward shortly thereafter and I found a gold plated vintage Omega watch for $100. I am in LOVE! Cannot wait to see what's in store for my next visit!! That's the joy and beauty of visiting pawn stores, especially one's with wealthy clientele, you never know what you're going to get!! I also get a lot of silver here as they have a wide collection of bullion and coins. Bottom line, this store is undoubtedly worth a visit and drive to see. Nice environment, really helpful and nice employees, very fair pricing--another pawn shop quoted us $70 for something they gave us $275 for trade in value, really great options, just an all around great experience. We went to at least 3 other pawn shops and this one by far the best. Please beware of dealing with this store. My stolen jewelry was purchased by this store and I found out about it soon after. The owner presented himself as honest and upstanding, but sold my jewelry out from under me and just watched me suffer. He even substituted two pieces of cheap jewelry for two pieces of very expensive diamond jewelry before he turned the jewelry he had not already sold over to the D.A.'s office. I suppose any pawn shop you go to will low ball your items since you are going to a pawn shop in the first place. However I wouldn't advise going here. I had a black diamond watch I brought in, to which they attempted to tell me that my purchase originally from Neiman Marcus was a fake and could only get $150 at most for it. I also had a emerald and diamond bracelet to which another guy looked over it and they both had small conversation about it then proceeded to tell me the same thing about my bracelet that was also purchased from Neimans. They quoted me $250 total for my items. I figured I would think about it, but the attitude of the one of the gentleman working there, as if I was wasting his time being there drove me away. I ended up selling my items on therealreal.com two which they were sold for just over $1,000 a piece and I got 70%. Glad I didn't go here. It's not worth it. read more

It doesn't matter who you are, "having" to go to a Pawn shop is often times an embarrassing or humiliating situation. You know going in, that the people working there have heard it all over and over again! I sat in my car contemplating what I was going to say because I was embarrassed as I was in an "I need it now "type situation. I decided to just tell it like it was and be it what it may. I was pleasantly surprised that the shop was well designed - neat- clean as can be, and the moment you walk in you are welcomed ! The day I went in they were extremely busy, but the professional team managed to multi task and treat everyone with dignity and respect. I must commend Joseph for being a true gentleman, a great listener and a fair businessman . He not only spent nearly two hours working with me but he seemed to genuinely care about the outcome of my transaction. He guided me in the differences between selling and a loan and I was again surprised at the lowest interest rate around. They will also discount should you pay off within the 30 days!! I realize this is a long review, but felt the goodness of Joseph and his staff deserving of it. So if you are in a " need it now" position- Silver Dollar will not only put you at ease, but will make you the best possible offer and you will leave with your head held high and feeling like you've made a long time friend.
