Great attitude by staff. Tasty beer. Tasty food. Casual, comfortable atmosphere. - Nice day? sit outside. - Cold/rainy/snowy? sit inside What more can you ask for? - Free beer (tomorrow) OK, I counted at least 85 characters in the brewery (or at least in my review). We'll be back when we're in Silverton (which is planned for July)

Silver Falls Brewery - August 24, 2025 We came in on a Sunday afternoon. They are dog friendly on the outdoor patio, which has fairly ample shade. The service was very friendly. The bartender let me try a couple of ciders for my wife and gave me a 13 ounce pour of the Lookout IPA they had on tap. They also have wine. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating has a nice vibe as does the outdoor seating. I got a four pack of IPAs for $14 which is a very good deal I think.

This place is super dog friendly which is awesome you order online from QR code and they bring it out to you. Website is super user friendly though and it's easy to order more food or refills and pay your tab. Food was good but the ambiance outside was the highlight. Lots of outdoor seating options from small to big tables and sun to shade. Will be back!

A vibe! Was pleasantly surprised by this brewery in Silverton. Great place to stop after hiking in silver falls state park. Good food and beer options and they have a full bar as well! Will be going back! Also staff were super friendly and prompt.

Great, fast service with fresh meals. The one street over location keeps the main st traffic no use at bay and did I mentioned they are dog friendly? Great place!

Stopped by here after visiting Silver falls with my wife and brother. Very nice outdoor seating area, the only negative of it was the smell of cigarette smoke constantly (probably from the parking lot). No one sat us, no one brought us a menu. The menus are available by QR code, which I'm not a huge fan of, but they are there. We went and grabbed some from inside. The drinks were amazing, I got a margarita, it tasted amazing. For food I ordered the Buffalo falafel. Which to me, was quite a weird offering, but turned out to be amazing. They were perfect size, they didn't taste like grease like some do. They were delicious, and the Buffalo sauce on them was crazy good. Definitely recommend. 7.8/10 will definitely try again.

Great little place to come to for a bite to eat and wash it down with their house brewed beer. Located in the heart of Silverton, a quaint little town in Oregon, near the falls. Offer outdoor and indoor seating. I had a Classic Cheeseburger (gluten-free bun), side salad, with a Light Work Lager. Perfect combination on this summer afternoon. The burger was juicy, flavourful and delicious! Messy but yummy. You will need lots of napkins! The only turn off were the cucumbers on my salad. They didn't taste very fresh and had some "yellowed" patches. Otherwise, great meal and refreshing, crisp, light glass of cold lager. Prices are a bit steep but burgers are delicious. Friendly staff and great vibe.

A great pit stop on the way from visiting Silver Falls. Good food + beer, nice staff, and a beautiful dog friendly patio.

Food and service were great. Atmosphere is both cozy and upbeat, just what we were looking for. Oh and the beer was great as well!

Their ciders are great, I tried the Viking Cherry Cider and loved it so much I bought a six pack to take home, at $18 for 6 it was still absolutely well worth it. For food my coworker got the Fish and Chips, deep fried in beef tallow for those who avoid seed oils, and said it was excellent. I had a caesar salad and fries to go with my cider and it was a lovely meal. This will absolutely be one of our go-to spots when in Salem from now on.

The inside atmosphere is sports bar fabulous plenty of seating for groups or couples. We shared a juicy hazy IPA and an order of scotch eggs while sitting on the patio, which is shaded and comfortable with both picnic tables and bar-top seating. I was thrilled to find that the scotch eggs were not only delicious but also authentically prepared. The yolk was soft and slightly runny, and the crust was perfectly crisp and flavorful. This establishment is a true hidden gem. While the food prices are a little steep, the quality definitely makes it worthwhile. We will be back!

The space was huge - way bigger than expected. I was bummed there was only one IPA and the keg blew on my order. She replaced it with a hazy IPA which I didn't love, but ordered anyway because I felt awkward standing up there. But when I heard Matt Spenner was going to be the brew master, excitement crept in. Because if anyone should be able to make good beer, it would be a Spenner. (This is generations of research manifesting itself here, folks). I was not disappointed. To start with, they have some funky names: Citra Lee Ale (named after Matt's wife Crystal, who's a brew mistress (is that even a term?) with Matt), Eukanot Do That on Television IPA (pretty awesome name considering the stuff on TV nowadays), and my favorite to drink, the Schmokin Porter. Their selection is limited, but they have guest beers (and wines), and they'll be coming up with new stuff so stay tuned. The place is open and airy and comfortable. No TVs or one arm bandits here, so you're gonna have to socialize, which is a good thing in my book. Add a dose of country music in the background, and voila, you're soaking in a cool vibe and sucking down some yummy suds. If you want grub, there's a food truck around when you need it. Plus, with the bay doors open, it's like you're chillin' in your bud's new backyard brewery, which is uber cool.

The owner's boyfriend, who is part of the team running the place,…read moreconfronted me and my 67-year-old mother in a way that was hostile, physically intrusive, and genuinely unsafe. We left shaken and have not been back. How does a man who has never spoken to you, never met your dog, and knows nothing about your life already hate you -- and need you to know it? That is the question I am still trying to answer about this person. I had felt his eyes on me from across the room before either encounter, like he was waiting to be released. When he finally was, he came over not to talk but to deliver two messages at once: how impressive he was, and how little he thought of me. It happened on two consecutive days. The first day was brief. I complimented his dog and wondered aloud if my newly adopted rescue might share some of that breed. He answered with contempt: "Absolutely not. Your dog is nothing but a pure pit bull." He had never met or been near my dog. I let it go. The next day, his roughly 100-pound dog was growling, snarling, and baring its teeth at me and my mother from a few feet away. We had not interacted with the dog or said a word about it. Then he stood up, walked over, blocked our path to the door, stopped a foot from my face, and held a pointed finger about three inches from my eye. He kept it there while he told me my dog was violent, every dog in the brewery was terrified of him, I had never trained him, I did not understand responsibility, and he was no longer welcome. He delivered all of this in the same breath as a running commentary on how exceptional his own dog was. I'm no psychologist, but the shape of it was hard to miss. He was condemning my dog for behavior his own dog was actually doing. He was condemning me for reasons I still cannot name. And he needed me, in the same breath, to know how superior his dog was to mine. Hatred without cause, accusation by projection, and a need to elevate himself over a stranger. It was schoolyard bullying with adult body language and an owner's authority behind it. None of it was true. My dog is a three-day-old rescue still learning that the world is safe. He is not aggressive. He has never in his life attacked another dog. He comes from trauma and is finally somewhere he is loved. At Root and Rye there was no incident -- no bad behavior, nothing close to violent. Dogs frolicked. They respected each other's space. They were warm to him. All afternoon the manager on duty came by our table to pet him, ask about him, and show real interest. Families came over to say hello. Four children crouched down to let him kiss their faces. No dog had a problem with him. No person had a problem with him. The owner's boyfriend was the only one in the room with a problem -- and the problem was not us. His natural tendency appears to be to find a target and terrorize them with insults and abuse. We were simply the ones in front of him that day. My mother later told me that was the moment she felt unsafe. I did not know what he was going to do next. We left and did not come back. The question that stayed with us after we left was not whether he was rude or unprofessional. It was whether he was dangerous, and if so, in what way. I still do not know the answer. This is otherwise a nice place. That is why this matters. Someone connected to ownership is using that position to walk up to people he does not know and unload contempt he could not possibly have earned. The owner's boyfriend gives Root and Rye an unhealthy, dark, creepy vibe that is completely unnecessary to a brewery this otherwise lovely. To the owner, if you are reading this -- you can do better, sister. Until this is addressed, I cannot recommend going, particularly with a dog, and particularly with anyone you would not want cornered by an angry stranger with a finger in their face.
