We got a free tasting with our hotel stay, but for those not staying at the Oregon Garden Resort, tastings are $10. Brought my boyfriend's parents here, it was their first wine tasting and the owners were so sweet. Because it was a Sunday they said we could try anything on the menu, not just their tastings menu. She was great about educating us on the different wines, the difference between aging them in oak and stainless steel and helping us find wines we would enjoy. They also had live jazz music as well and plenty of places to sit. My boyfriend's parents ended up getting 4 bottles and kept saying what a great tome they had. Vitis Ridge Winery, Mount Angel, WA - August 23, 2025 Wow, what a great experience we had here on a hot August afternoon - 98 degrees outside, but a cool 70 degrees indoors with Amanda and Lili as our wine hosts! Admittedly, we had the place almost entirely to ourselves - I guess a lot of folks headed to the Oregon State fair in Salem on this hot vaporous day. So thank you wine God for an outstanding private wine tasting experience. Amanda led us down a path of whites leading into reds, with a rose' or two in between. Not a bad wine along the trail, with a few exceptional examples of flavors that Bachus would be proud to call his own - white and red blends with Sauv Blanc and Malbec leading the charge. 10$ wine tasting fee per person - waived with a 2 bottle purchase per person. read more

These folks at Vitis Ridge have created a business that provides an excellent variety of really, really good wines, a tasting room that is intimate, immaculate and welcoming, and, they are staffed with the most fun, amazing people we've encountered at ANY winery. They offer many different wines for tasting, so you have a really good sampling when finally making your, albeit difficult, choices for purchase. Chris's longtime knowledge of the agricultural/wine industry is endless, and, it shows in the quality of the wines he makes. Brian is a bottomless source of information, and, to his credit, never appears to tire of answering our/my nonstop questions (thank you). Brian's passion for this business and the customers they accommodate is very apparent. The Wine Club is no hassle--no cards on file, no surprise charges, and, it can be custom tailored to your tastes and preferences... not to what they have an abundance of. We can't wait to head back for more of Chris's stories, Brian's humor and expertise, the new releases, a nuzzle from Tannin (their big, lovable pooch) and wines that are well priced, delicious and downright easy to enjoy! If you're looking for a relaxing and welcoming wine tasting experience you'll want to head over to Vitis Ridge! Brian and Christine (the staff when we were there) were friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us a nice pour for each tasting (can't beat that!). The tasting room itself is quaint and lovely with lots of open space and natural light. Staff wear masks and make you feel comfortable throughout your whole experience. Their wine is fantastic, so many different varieties to try and additional wines are available via glass or bottle to try. My favorite was probably their dry rosé (2017) and their Pinot gris. They have bold flavored reds in addition to beautiful red blends as well, which is a lot coming from me as I'm strictly a white wine person. They are also a major producer of the Marechal Foch grape-delicious! Another huge plus to this location is that dogs are also allowed and they have a local pup, Tannin, who will come by with a friendly hello! We took our two dogs as well and they had a great time! One last thing-no reservations required! If you're ever on your way to Silver Falls or the Oregon Gardens stop by and have a glass of two! Can't wait to come back try some more wines soon! read more

This winery is run by very kind people. I don't recall all the details but one of my friends (with a friend of hers) found themselves in a jam right in front of Vitis Ridge over the July 4th holiday. These fine folks allowed my friends to use their facilities and hang out on their grounds while waiting for additional help. They definitely purchased some bottles which they enjoyed and recommend. I just wanted to write a thank you to Vitis Ridge for their kindness. Now that it's the Christmas season when I tend to purchase wine, I plan to support this winery based on my friends' positive experience. read more

Vitis Ridge is a charming spot just outside of Silverton. This family owned winery is comfortable for wine connoisseur as well as the novice wine fan. We have been wine club members for years and always feel at home when we visit. They have a wine for every pallet. So many wines to taste and choose from, Including bold reds, subtle whites, port styles and dessert wines. On occasion the winemaker Chris has treated us to barrel tastings as well. It's a special treat. We love this winery and cannot recommend it enough! read more

Was eating dinner in Silverton and ordered a Pinot Gris at the restuarant from Vitis Ridge. Absolutely delcious. Vibrant fruit in both taste and nose. Mango and apricot notes with a fantastic finish. Server knew winery owner and call her. Lng story longer we ordered a case and 4 days later it arrived in Florida. If in the area, dont miss this wine. From the moment you pull into the driveway at Vitis Ridge, you know you are welcome. Often, Lucy (the dog) will come to see you as you park. When you walk into the tasting room, you will be greeted by the friendly and knowledgeable staff who are ready to pour tastes from around 20 different varietals and blends for a very modest tasting fee! (Free if you're a Club member.) From the crisp Pinot Gris to the Rose' of Pinot Noir to the bold and hearty reds like Syrah and Marechal Foch, Vitis Ridge wines are a treat for your pallet. At some point during your visit, you will likely be greeted by Chris and/or Sharon Deckelmann, the proprietors of this lovely winery. They are awesome people: very nice and down-to-earth. Chris has been making wine for a couple of decades; and really knows what he is doing. Chris simply doesn't make a bad wine. I highly recommend a visit, and don't be afraid to buy a case or two.
