Silver Gate Farms is an amazing little horse ranch and training facility hidden in the hills of Santa Clarita, If you ever drive Bouquet Cyn far enough for the homes to stop and the country to start you might just see this gem off the side of the road. This family owned and operated ranch has been here since the 80's. This family has been the trainers and winners of local, state and national champions If you have ever dreamed of english style riding you should stop in. You wont regret it.

Silver Gate Farms is a fantastic training facility, offering every level from beginner to expert. Trainer Julie VanLoo is amazing - showing the ultimate care and concern for the well being of both the students and horses in her barn. Whether you would like to take a few lessons a week or are in training for the next big show, Silver Gate is a wonderful place to be ... Highly recommend!!!

Gave my horse an injury . Then refused to help heal it. Absolute trash training, and totally run down property.

Jelly is the best role model I could ask for, for my daughter. They work hard at Rosewood and there's never a shortage of fun. We have now advanced to boarding. Jelly helped us find the perfect horse and now we have a horse that is getting the best training along with my daughter.

My daughter has been going to local farms here and there for last 2 years but never really found a "home" or instructors who got through to her. Was looking for a place and by accident saw one of Rosewood's camps advertised on FB and at same time a friend also recommended Rosewood. It started with a camp few months ago and my 10 year old daughters's interest and confidence has only grown. She has progressively gotten better, found her confidence and is very active. Not only she is getting better at riding but it's teaching her responsibility for taking care of something else other than herself. We are there 4-5 times a week, have found amazing families and other kids who share same love of these beautiful, majestic horses. The trainers are awesome, very helpful. Highly recommend, maybe start with one of the camps "Jelly" the head trainer runs.

We arrived to find parking along a busy highway (?!?), with golf carts shuttling visitors to and from the entrance, just a few feet away from cars whizzing past. That was weird. Then we got to the sort of holding area where they keep guests until their reservation time. Before we went in, the owner came out to greet us...sort of. She gave us a basic history of the place, but before she did, she wished us "happy pride" and told us all about how virtuous she was, as if everyone should be celebrating? Weird and inappropriate to say the least. The last thing she did before allowing us the entrance we'd paid handsomely for, was to lecture us about becoming vegans. Which is one of my biggest pet peeves about vegans to begin with. Then she stood at the entrance and offered everyone literature on veganism as we walked past. I declined. Wholly inappropriate, offensive and off putting. I didn't pay to be lectured about something I disagree with. It was nice to (finally) see and interact with the animals, but some of the volunteers were too much. I understand they're used to dealing with idiots every weekend, but some of the instructions they were giving were flat out dangerous, like having babies (maybe 18 months old) feed carrots to grabby, nippy horses. Bad idea when little hands aren't any bigger than the carrots. Most (not all) volunteers were just a bit too power trippy and under-educated for my taste. I will say the facilities were pretty clean and appeared well kept, but the horses and donkeys were filthy and in dire need of grooming. Give your visitors brushes and curry combs and show them how to brush the animals. Win-win for everyone. It was nice to hang out with the animals, but most of the people I could do without. Probably won't be back again.
