We heard this place was good. Understatement. We had chicken wings which are outstanding. Pulled pork sandwich - was okay - the pork was a little mealy/overcooked, but hey it's The CHICKEN Shack. Kids had chicken tenders and loved them. The atmosphere is great. We took 24 wings home (camp) with us and have been reheating them in the microwave...still outstanding. Top notch. The chicken is so good, you don't really even need the sauces! It is a little pricey, but it's totally worth it!

We stopped here on the way home from Ludington. Chicken sounded good, so we took a chance. So glad we did. Wow!! The chicken wings were absolutely delicious, no sauce even needed. Not many choices on the menu but what they do have works. Super casual atmosphere. You place your order at the counter and eat on picnic tables. Bathrooms were a little scarce though. Overall an excellent place to take kids with all that is happening around it. Mini Golf, Go Carts, Bumper Boats and loads more. Highly recommended, fun and tasty place!! read more

So I would like to preface this story by saying I normally love the chicken shack but today was very different, we showed up at around 11:30 on a Sunday so they weren't open yet so we decided to walk to Craig's cruisers to kill a half hour before they opened, we were then greeted (at Craig's cruisers) by a man telling us that our car was getting towed, which I immediately knew was a lie considering we had been there for less than 5 minutes. The man then proceeded to tell us that he was the owner of the chicken shack and he was mad that we parked there because "people do it all the time" because he assumed we were parking there to go to the beach when in reality we were waiting for them to open, so he followed us all the way to Craig's cruisers to tell us this while berating us that we were "entitled" and "it would be awesome if we never came back to silver lake". I highly recommend against eating here unless you want to be followed and told never to come back to silver lake. read more

Came here while on a weekend getaway in Michigan and it was just awesome. We all got the chicken wings and they were cooked perfectly with the meat just falling off the bone. They give you the sauce on the side and I didn't even end up using it! The wings were so flavorful plain that the sauce is not a necessity. It is also in a nice area with mini golf and go kart racing right next to it. The seating inside is also very spacious and it would be cool to see a live band in there! However the main attraction is the wings because they are different than any I have had before. I would for sure tell someone visiting to come here. read more

Some of the best wings I have ever had. They come with a great dry rub so you don't need sauce. With that being said, they have some really good homemade sauces so you'll want to try them. Fun low key vibe. They have live music often. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is you always have to wait in line for way to long. read more

they lure you in with the smell but then the chicken is not so great. I ordered the 1/2 chicken meal with baked beans and potato salad, my husband ordered the chicken nuggets with an extra side of coleslaw. the sides were pretty good, but the beans could have used more pazazz. the coleslaw was good, creamy and fresh. The chicken on the other hand, not so great. My 1/2 chicken meal was overcooked and very, very dried out. Not just that, it was very, VERY, very small. The chicken breast was about 5 bites and done. The Chicken nuggets were so hard they were like little rocks. We went there around 4:30 in the evening on a Thursday so you would think think the food should be fresh. Didn't know what I was walking into but is a really great idea for a high volume eatery. You can treat this place as a quick and easy experience or spend a couple hours hanging out eating and drinking with friends. Don't be discouraged by the styrofoam containers you'll get your food in. Or pretty much being limited to chicken. The wings are some of the best I've ever had. Not your deep fried versions. Only recommendation would be for them to add more of the traditional sauces that are used in. many smokehouses. The bulk containers of franks red hot and sweet baby rays are compromising meats that are all ready very tasty. Amazing wings...we ordered twice! Chicken was great and the sides were nice too. Prefectly chilled root beer. Highly recommend for everyone! The price is reasonable. The Chicken Shack is the best we could find in Silver Lake. The outside seating by the pond is very nice. The pulled pork is not bad. The honey BBQ is great. If you want a nice place to eat inside, you might have to travel 20 minutes or more. So, this is our first pick when in Silver Lake. read more

Okay. So the food wasn't bad. My friend said it was the best meal he had so far. But the menu is small and they don't have boneless wings. It's pretty expensive for what you get and I was still so hungry after (theres an ice cream store next to it so we good). I guess I was thinking it was going to be amazing from all the reviews. Don't get me wrong everyone liked what they got, but they were still hungry as well. There is only seating outside. Its great if you're looking for something quick and easy.
