I was forced to switch eye care providers due to Everett Clinic's merger with Optum, and I couldn't be more pleased. Silver Lake ECC was able to get me in quickly and were ready for me upon my arrival. The tech who did the initial scans was helpful, polite, and thorough. Then my time with Dr. Tan was also fantastic. She was knowledgeable, professional, and made sure I understood every aspect of my diagnosis with no sense of urgency or pressure. Lastly, they had a nice variety of frames from which to choose my new sets of glasses, ranging from moderate to fairly expensive. If you're looking for cheap in this department, I'd recommend Costco, but I wanted something stylish and lasting with new, progressive-lens technology. Again, there was no pressure to purchase there, but my frame selection and fitting processes were polite, efficient, and professional. I highly recommend this office for anyone looking for a new eye doctor, and wish I had switched sooner. Kudos on a great team, from front of office, all the way through the process. read more

I am retired and have an individual VSP plan and a Medicare Advantage plan with vision coverage, also through VSP. The clinic staff constantly insists they they cannot submit claims to both plans although VSP assures me that the clinic can and should do that. As a side note, my ex-wife uses this clinic and has identical plans and has never had a problem having claims submitted to both plans. WTH? I'd knock another star off but I do like the doctor and opticians. read more

I've been to this clinic twice now and have enjoyed both visits. Dr Lynette is very personable and knowledgeable and being fitted for glasses by Warren was a pure delight. LOVE that Warren is also a professional singer (I am a sweet adeline singer) and can/does freely chat about this and other interesting subjects WHILE working his magic on my glasses. The last eye Dr I went to not only didn't seem to have the time of day for ME (take a number kind of place), I often would wait and THEN get a quick look see by some person (never the Dr) and then we were done. First of all, I called and said I was running 10minutes late and they told me to still come and they would see me. I got there , sure enough the office was very pleasing to the eye! ;) very chic and cute. The staff promptly got me checked in and explained the HIPPA practice form and offered me some water. I went back quickly and all the tests were explained thoroughly and what to do was simple and easy. As soon as I met Dr Lynette , I was comfortable. She was nice and very down to earth and communicable. You felt like you knew her for years and she was just joking around with you. The visit was quick yet thorough. You can tell she knows what she's doing and does it well. Then when it came to picking out my glasses, i had my insurance and coverage explained to me and what I would need to pay out of pocket. I was treated like royalty. I got pretty much a whole bag full of glasses brought to me and I got to try on each one and make a yes/maybe pile and an instant no pile. I never once felt rushed or pressured in picking one or an add on that wasn't necessary or covered by insurance. I only wish I didn't have to wait a whole year to return! read more

I love the eye doc. But the guy who handled picking out and ordering glasses was so lackluster and disinterested. Totally unintetestrd in giving good customer service. He also screwed up my order three times. Fourth time, four weeks later was a charm. I insisted that i could not adjust to progressive lens. Was told i would. I didn't and it caused me to fall. I was out of work for two weeks. A month later i am still suffering. They offered to replace the lens but i had had enough of the indifference, so i went online and got a single lens with transition for$80. Should have done it from the start. Saved me over two hundred dollars. Avoid buying your glasses there. Maybe this guy just didn't like me, i don't know. But he needs training in customer service and he needs a big boost of enthusiasm because he acts totally depressed. Maybe he is. read more

I am still waiting for a follow-up call. I did my eye exam at this clinic. I've been a customer at this clinic so of course I came back. I was told they will do a follow-up with me. Which they did and left a message. I called back and was told that Amy is the only one who can help me with my contacts and that she will call me back. This was last week. There was no call back. I called today and again was told that Amy will follow-up in a few minutes. An hour goes by and now a whole day. No follow-up!!! I have a new prescription and decided to go with contacts. Im using the test contract and b it's about to get disposed and they have not called to get my contacts with my new prescription ordered. Disappointed customer!! read more

REDEEMED!!!! As you may have read previously, (according to my initial visit) Silver Lake Eye Care Center was slightly less than welcoming as far as customer service was concerned. Well, I had to go back in and get my glasses fixed after my dog tried to chew through the frames and SLEC was there for my rescue! Although damage from dogs or any other animal are not covered under their warranties, they gave me 40% off of my new frames and were able pop the lens back in and shave down the rough edges so I could still use them as spare glasses. While my new ones are on the way. My new glasses will be there in about a week and I can't wait to pick them up! Thank you so much SLEC!!!! BTW, Thank you for taking care of my coworker that was really nervous about getting her eyes checked. The last time she was at the eye doctor's she passed out from the pupil dilation, but Dr. Lynnette Sundholm made her feel relaxed and at ease with her appointment. And instead of the dilation, she chose the Optomap which (although it is not covered by insurance companies, it is so worth it) takes a bigger picture of your retina. So worth the money. read more

I haven't been to the eye doctor in a few years. The entire staff is great from the minute you walk in the door. Kim at the receptionist desk promptly helped me check-in. She thoroughly explained HIPAA and helped me look good for my patient file picture. The woman that took me back from the waiting room didn't tell me her name, but nonetheless, she was super polite. I have a problem with people touching my eyes, but she was very soothing. Also, I liked that she explains all of the different tests and what they do. It helps to give the patient a better understanding. Once I met Dr. Lynette, I fell in love instantly. She is great at her job and offers personalized care. She's funny, intelligent, and has a great sense of style. Her and her office are very chic. I ended up needing glasses and Shannon helped me pick out the perfect pair. She gave me the unwritten fashion guidelines and found a pair that complimented my face. All in all it was a fantastic visit. I've always had excellent service from Dr. Sundholm and her staff. I got a "flash" in my vision and called for an appointment. I was ushered in right away and Dr. Sundholm arranged for immediate specialized care by a retinologist to laser "weld" my detaching retina. From first call to laser was very fast and organized. They got me in for treatment when there weren't any available appointments. Additionally I've gotten several pairs of glasses and on-going contacts scripts over the years. PICK ANOTHER EYECARE CLINIC! This is the worst place to go ever. I have waited on hold for about 10-15 minutes almost every time I call. The reception staff that I have talked to on the phone is rude and unknowledgeable. They repeatedly ask for your full name when you call (its as if they can't remember). My shipped contacts never arrived and they tried to blame it on the local post office and said that it was "out of their hands". I wasn't going to just forget about the $70+ I spent on contact lenses so I pressed them to figure out what happened and only then did they try to resolve the issue. Now I am dealing with the contacts potentially not being the right prescription. Today when I called the office I waited on hold for 18 minutes and yes, I just learned they are completely the wrong prescription. I wear the same prescription in both eyes and I received four boxes of different prescriptions. Oy ve! Plus, I am now completely out of all my contacts due to all this waiting. read more

I had not been to the eye doctor for years and as part of the initial exam she fully explained all aspects of my issues to my complete satisfaction. Translation: "she answered all my dumb questions." Recently I returned for a new condition on an emergent basis and she located the issue and again explained every single aspect AGAIN to my satisfaction. No, just No. Avoid this place like the plague. I have never been to an eye dr that was so unprofessional and frustrating. From the leaving me in the room (I assume they forgot I was there) to the vague answers about pricing "oh yeah the price is about this..." and then never really giving me the true price (when I asked multiple times to different people and one person even lied to me) to the witnessing of pushy upselling. One sees quickly that its not about your eye care here, its about them making money. Oh also, you might just get to see them brag to each other once someone has left about how awesome their sales skills are - (we witnessed them getting this elderly man to buy electric biofocals who didn't want them but you could see him finally cave because he probably wanted to just go have a sandwich from the exhaustion of them pushing!.) Update: I ended up coming back because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and maybe the next visit would be fine. My appointment was at 11am and I arrived at 10:55 and was still waiting last 11:30. I came on my break at work and they just wasted my time. I had the best eye exam ever. Friendly- they have all the latest eye equipment. Had a play area for my little one and have sat appt and served coffee and cookies. My husband who has had many negative experiences, found a pair of glasses and ordered them that day. I walked out of there telling my husband I will never go anywhere else. I've been going to this place about 3 years. I was very happy but my last visit was not a good experience. I would not go back. The place is nice and clean. Both front desk , doctor assistant, and doctor were nice and friendly but a lady in the glasses boutique was not. I went to pick up my glasses. They tried to adjust my glasses and they kept either touching my eyebrows or my cheeks. I asked them if they can insert nose pad to raise it (this was done before). This lady said to me: "It will touch either your eyebrows or cheeks. It's a give and take. You got to choose." I said "I cannot wear glasses that are uncomfortable." She said she would check with her manager. I didn't appreciate her comment about the give and take part. She helped me select the frame. She ensured me that the frame could be adjusted to fit me. If the frame doesn't fit, she could be nicer about it and giving me options rather than say "it's a give and take." I'm very disappointed. I will never get glasses from there again after I get this situation resolved with my frame. read more

After being a patient there for couple of years, I scheduled an appointment for my wife. We ended up with 2 identical prescriptions, and glasses that she could not see at all. The glasses were made at another location. My wife went back to Dr Sundholm,for troubleshooting,got ZERO assistance and was told to make another appointment and pay AGAIN. We made an appointment with another doctor and paid 120 dollars for a new prescription, just to find out that she was WRONG! read more

Make sure that you have a good back up of your glasses. I went in two weeks ago excited to get my glasses prescription updated and some prescription sunglasses. It's now been two weeks and no call as to where my glasses were. I've now just called and they are quoting another WEEK...that is THREE weeks that I'm going on a back up of a back up of glasses, making night driving quite difficult. The explanation was that it was the 4th of July holiday. Well...I went in more than two weeks before the holiday, in preparation of our annual 4th of July trip. Poor planning on their part. If I had known it would take so long, I would have waited or gone somewhere else. The receptionist is also less than friendly. And, make sure you make your eye apt at the end of the day if you opt not to pay the exorbitant fee and get your eyes dilated instead. The appointment maker will not tell you about these options on the phone and you could lose half your work day. read more

I just went to Silver Lake Eye Care for the first time the other day and had a wonderful experience. I am new to the area, and found them just using Google maps. I had my very active 2 1/2 year old with me, and the entire office staff was so patient and friendly to her. They have a great play area for kids and even a coffee/tea bar. They managed to squeeze me in for an appointment the same day and I was able to do all my paperwork electronically. I loved my time with Dr. Lynette Sundholm. She was playing with my daughter and so patient with her. She was very professional, informative, and genuine.They also have a great selection of frames for kids and adults. I have been going to silverlake eye care for several years now. I consider myself a good customer. Made it to all my appointments, paid my bill on time. I even paid $600 out of pocket for my glasses last year when i was in for my annual. This year i made an appointment to have my yearly check up. Because of my work schedule, a Saturday Appointment would work best for me so i made it for April 13th. I was running a few minutes behind schedule that morning and showed up to my appointment about 7 minutes late. When i walked up to the counter the receptionist was extremely rude and said "umm, let me go see if we can squeeze you in now" i was stunned. She made me feel like i was a huge inconvenience. She then came back and told me i would have to wait but was unclear on how long my wait was going to be. She was condescending and made me feel very unwelcome. I have decided to find another doctor/clinic and if customer service means anything to you, i would suggest you look elsewhere as well read more
