On the yelp hours it said 9pm. She was the only one working- so i will say the owners set this young girl up for failure by allowing her to work by herself at such a busy establishment and get so behind- but also allowing that many customers to wait that long and not stop the line long before closing is terrible for business This place has great reviews for its ice cream and many people coming from Out of town want to try it- but won't have the chance if things like this continue Hire more staff and teach business etiquette. read more

We have only lived in Rapid City for a little over a month, but I of course have had several local places book marked for quite some time. On that list was silver lining creamery, I had heard great things about this little ice cream shop so one hot day, I gathered up my little minions and off we set to see what all the hype was about. Upon entering silver lining creamery my senses started to go wild, the smell is mouth watering good and I had a hard time selecting what I wanted from the menu. Each person in our family ordered a different flavor ice cream inside of a waffle cone and we took a seat outside on the patio area. Of course we all tried a little of each others ice creams and my oh my, this is my type of ice cream place. The ice cream was so creamy and tasty, I enjoyed every single bite. This is the perfect ice cream spot for the adventurous eater! They have so many unusual flavors such as honey lavender, hot mango, avocado, drunken parrot, Cap'n Crunch, cotton candy, lemongrass, etc etc etc. But they also have your classic strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate as options as well so bring the kids. Being that the flavors are so out there, it can be very hit or miss depending on your palate, so make sure you get all the samples. My favorite part is that all the ice cream is made in-house, which means you're devouring the products of real passionate people from right here in Rapid City. None of that stuff that is ordered in tubs and put on display, no sir. This is a super cute ice cream spot, from the decor down to the spoons. My only complaint is that they only had 12 flavors today and a couple of them were pretty similar. I would have loved to try some of the ones that were listed but not offered today (such as salted caramel, my absolute fave!). They do have to-go mason jars and pints which is handy if you're looking for that as an option. They let you try free samples, which was nice. Their ice cream is much softer than typical ice cream, almost more akin to gelato. It's also really smooth and creamy. I had the butter pecan and it had a delicious maple flavor. My boyfriend got the blueberry cheese cake flavor and really enjoyed it. We were the only ones in here today, but I can see it getting pretty busy in the summer. They do have outdoor seating for when it is warmer, and are located next to an outdoor square with plenty of places to sit too. read more

They had about 16(?) flavors but a lot of them were getting low, luckily they brought out one so we hoped they had more in the back. I tried a Peanut Butter/Pickle- NO WAY! I think I have a pretty open mind but the pickle taste wasn't pickley, just like pure vinegar. After trying the Maple Bacon, it was love at first bite. I got two scoops in a cup and was happy/excited/shocked/amazed by the fact that I could add MORE bacon. MMmmm, yes please, more bacon. Always. It was delightful. Definitely something I would get once in a while, not every time. My only complaint is that the menu doesn't really show all the options: bacon for example. They also have a TV with random sauces, things that you can order. I'd like all that on the menu so I can pick my food BEFORE I order. We saw the avocado flavor on the board outside yesterday so had to come by today. We sampled the Avocado flavor and sage flavor as we wanted something different. We have never seen those flavors before. The avocado is very creamy with a light flavor of avocado, we liked it. The sage was sage not bad bit savory. Looks to rotate on a daily basis--when we stopped in they had your standard chocolate/vanilla to things like lavender honey and sage (sage was AMAZING). Very cutely decorated, and pretty small--but it opens up in front to a big courtyard with water fountains and plenty of tables and chairs.
