Stopped by on a little road trip. A very quaint restaurant on the lake. Not too busy as it was 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon. The wife and I ordered the French Onion soup, and the wife ordered the peel and eat shrimp, I had the Whaler, a breaded code filet with lettuce on a toasted hoagie bun. First the soup, we give the soup 2 stars as it was very salty. Almost too salty. The wife enjoyed her peel and eat shrimp and would give it 3.5 - 4 stars. The lettuce comes on the Whaler sandwich, on top of the hot breaded filet causing the lettuce to be wilted, almost cooked. While the filet was flaky and crunchy, there was a grease layer between the fish and batter. I give the sandwich 1.5 stars. For drinks we had the Berry Mule and Bloody Mary's. The drinks get 4 stars. The view out the windows to the lake are the real winner here. read more

Do not get the Bang Bang Shrimp. They are tiny, and all batter. You could barely perceive shrimp were there. Regretful choice, and it should've been taken off of our bill. We went in mid September , so definitely offseason. It's a decent place on the water. There is an upstairs and downstairs. Downstairs is more casual , although I really would not classify upstairs as upscale :/ fine dining. It has a nautical theme and the water views are nice. We ordered calamari appetizer. It was pretty rubbery , not inedible but not great. We ordered surf and turf, ossobuco over mashed potatoes and prime rib. The lobster tail was nice , cooked well with a nice presentation, the steak was just okay, a bit overdone. The prime rib was pretty good , well cooked and very little fat. The ossobuco was tasty over mashed, a bit overcooked but at 25 dollars no complaints. We had Key lime pie and apple fritters. No complaints with the food. Our server however had the personality of a wet mop as did the hostess. I would probably go back given how few choices there are in the area. read more

A great experience! 1st visit to this established restaurant and bar. We arrived on a busy night to get the last remaining parking spot, and the dining room was full, but we found 2 stools in a cozy corner of the bar. The menu was basic, but the food was prepared exemplary. The bartender who served us was pleasant, available as needed, and never rushed us. She graciously checked back on us several times. Excellent, bottomless fresh brewed iced tea, food served on warmed plates, and an excellent view out the window to the lake. My friend ordered the potato soup, which was thick and chunky with uniquely shredded potatoes. I ordered the cod sandwich, and my only complaint might be the ratio of fish to bread. The bread was deliciously fresh and warm, but it overwhelmed the small amount of perfectly cooked fish. Also, I believe that the menu stated that all sandwiches are served with lettuce, tomato, and something else, but I only received a wilted piece of lettuce. The coleslaw was excellent and not overly sweet, which I do not like, and the chunky tartar sauce was totally delicious! We were allowed to sit and enjoy our after meal conversation without being rushed out. I would like to return in the summer to enjoy the lake view and more of the enticing menu items. . Return for 2nd visit on 4/6/2024, still fabulous. . Apparently, I forgot to notice on my last review that they have a huge additional parking lot across the street as well as additional parking below and in front of the restaurant next to the lake. When we arrived, we were told that there would be an hour wait for a table, but we were able to find two seats at the bar immediately. The hostess never had a smile on her face that we noticed throughout the evening. The place was busy, but the service was still fantastic as was the food. I got the cedar salmon dinner with baked potato and broccoli and again the bottomless iced tea. We did not wait long for our food, and we were allowed to enjoy our meal and even offered dessert with time to sit and chat before leaving. The salmon was perfectly prepared medium rare and moist with flavorful lemon caper sauce. Baked potato was also perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, the broccoli was not warm enough to melt the prepackaged butter. And my baked potato was much smaller than the one ordered by my companion. I got the coconut cream pie at the end and was disappointed as it had a strong burnt taste either from the crust or the burnt coconut on top. Trust me, I had that burnt taste in my mouth for the rest of the evening. I also ordered a cup of coffee, which was good, but I was never offered a refill. I would definitely return, and still, we enjoyed our dining experience, but I can't just list all the good without some of the bad. read more

Okay so my wife had the meatball sub and she said it was really good looked it but i didn't get to try it... the fish tacos were good but over priced it's one little strip of meat with veggies... i get the meat is prob expensive but very little meat to fill these tacos def wouldn't get again... the chicken pasta was amazing so flavorful... the spice from the sauce, The Cajun seasoning the garlic the sauce... it was all mouth watering... it was fantastic and it made me wanna go back again... next time i go to conneaut i will be back as this dish was amazing, great atmosphere as we sat right by the windows looking out at the lake read more

Maybe my expectations were too high, but for how many people recommended this place we went there for our anniversary, we were both disappointed. I had to ask what the specials were and server did not include cost, when my husband asked she visibly rolled her eyes and an exasperated sigh. He did get the special which was crab stuffed cod, baked potato and broccoli. The food came out lukewarm. Butter did not melt on potato and he felt the fish was gummy and undercooked. I ordered the chicken Marsala with mash potatoes. The potatoes had a weird glazed look, and were flavorless. The Marsala was unlike any I've ever had. I can't even describe the flavor. Very strong. I ate maybe half and left most of the potatoes. I gave my husband my broccoli as it was cold, butter would not melt. I might go back and try the downstairs bar food. How can you mess that up? But as far as the upstairs dining never again. And no, we did not say anything. We do not send food back because I do not trust anyone once they are criticized. The server was not friendly, and a different server set up a serving tray behind my husband and repeatedly tried to squeeze thru this area, bumping my husbands chair and back. It could have been placed over ten inches and she could have fit thru. She also left it set there for 15 minutes after she brought their food. I expected more. Better. They have a standing, I just don't feel they deserve it. Maybe they did, but they don't now. If you can sit near the windows I'm sure it's a lovely view. My husband and I stumbled upon Silver Shores while visiting the Conneaut Cellars Winery. One of the employees there highly recommended it. The menu has a lot of yummy options. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli. My husband ordered the Cajun Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. Since my sweetie had a difficult time finishing the enormous-sized entree on his own, I had a chance to sample a few bites. Both dishes were mouthwatering and flavorful. The Lobster Ravioli had nice chunks of lobster inside, unlike other similar dishes I've tried where the meat was completely mashed. The setting of this restaurant also can't be beat. It sits on the lake, providing a beautiful view while you dine. The staff is extremely friendly and our order was prepared quickly. My only reason for giving it 4 stars versus 5 is because of the service we received after we got our food. Our waitress didn't check back with us for a really long time and we were both out of water. Went here for dinner tonight after spending time in Conneaut Park. Family friendly and a great view. I ordered the pecan feta salad with chicken, my hubby ordered the reuban and we got the noodles with applesauce off the kids menu for mu daughter. My salad was delicious. Would have been fine without the grilled chicken in it. I tried a bite of the reuban and it was really good. Meat was nicely sliced thin. I was nervous when we pulled in because the lot was packed but there was plenty of seating inside so don't let that steer you away. The food took alittle longer than I would have liked to come out but that could have felt like that because I have a hungry toddler. Other than that everything was great. read more

Best food/experience on the lake!!! I've been coming up to Conneat Lake regularly for just under a year and every time I am there I make sure we have a meal here. The zombies are absolutely delicious! I have had a little bit of everything on their menu and have not been disappointed yet! My wife & I dined here for the first time late in the afternoon on Sun., May 16, 2021. We are neither permanent nor seasonal residents of Conneaut Lake but have passed the Silver Shores Restaurant many times during our travels thru the area. Today we decided to give it a try. The weather was still a bit cool for us so we chose to dine indoors. However, I can see the attraction for outdoor dining. Entering through the front entrance, you come into the bar. Though not vary large, I liked that it was brightly lit & had a lot of natural light through the large windows, not dark & depressing as so many bar rooms tend to be. The hostess greeted & immediately seated us in the main dining room. The room was clean, decorated in a nautical theme, & had a fantastic view of Conneaut Lake. The menu was somewhat limited as if trying to strike a balance between pub grub & dinner entrees. I had the Cajun Chicken Fettuccine while my better half had the Mahi-Mahi. We both thought our meals were good. I particularly liked that there was no skimping on the chicken & sausage, a seemingly common practice with pasta dishes that include meat. We had no appetite for dessert which was unfortunate because the pies are said to be homemade. Our service was good, courteous, & timely. The price point for our meals was good though I did see some menu items which I thought may be on the high side for the area. I can't say enough good things about this place. First and foremost, I associate Silver Shores with summer. They have boat parking which is super fun and convenient. Something about docking here just fills me with a wave of good vibes that I associate with being on the lake with friends. We always sit outside and order the same thing. They have a drink called the Zombie (pictured, also forgive the onion - it was a practical joke between friends that ended up in my picture!) which to me, is a must. It's very fruity and sweet which I wouldn't necessarily say it's anything I would order anywhere else but here, it's a must. It's boozy and just fun. They also have excellent appetizers and food. Their fried zucchini is top notch and as a lake visitor, I find myself thinking about it from time to time over the course of the year. Their nachos are also the best you can get. The last time we were there they were put down in front of me and I had to apologize to my friends at the end of the table because by the time the nachos were passed their way, they were all but gone. This place will always hold a special place in my heart just because I associate it with a lake weekend but the food and drinks are also the real deal and I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Had reservations for a table of 13 at 7:30pm on a Friday. We arrived and were seated immediately, they were pretty packed. Drink orders were taken and took awhile to come out(15 minutes to receive drink each time) this was a recurrent problem throughout the evening and was truly the only complaint I had the whole night, and the only reason I'm not giving the full 5 stars. The food was AMAZING!!! From the Bang Bang Shrimp, mozzarella sticks, and mussels, to my lobster ravioli and side order of fries(they were the awesome battered kind that I love so much), everything was hot, fresh, crunchy, seasoned wonderfully and delicious! Went here for lunch with my wife and sister-in-law in remembrance of my older brother. He loved coming here as a day trip from down south a bit. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and our waitress was very nice and efficient. She did a great job getting the three of us exactly what we wanted. The food was delicious, warm/hot, with a generous serving of each dish brought to the table. The view out over the dock area was fun to watch as lots of people were scurrying around tending to their boats on coming and going. Came back for lunch and was just as impressed! The hostess greeted us warmly and seated us immediately at a table along the window. Also, our waitress was very friendly and quick to fill drinks and checked on us frequently! I got the hot turkey open faced sandwich with a side of French fries. The turkey was thick cut and delicious, and the gravy was very flavorful. The French fries were very crispy and a nice portion. The bathroom was also clean and well-stocked. We went here for a 25th birthday celebration. They have a somewhat private room that you can use. With two toddlers who like to run around, this was very nice. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. It sits right next to Conneaut Lake and you have a beautiful view of the lake. On the downside is the parking. The lot is very small as are the spaces to park in. We did have someone hit our car in the lot that left a scratch. Now about the food and the service. Waitress was very pleasant. We ordered the pierogies for an appetizer and they were very good. I ordered the Cajun chicken but had shrimp substituted for the chicken. My husband ordered the steak salad. The wait for the food was a little longer than usual. When the food came out we were pleasantly surprised of the huge portions. My husband was happy because he had hard-boiled eggs included with his steak salad. My Cajun shrimp meal was somewhat of a disappointment though. It was very strong with the Cajun spice which really over powered the Alfredo sauce. The pieces of shrimp were very large which is probably why I only got four pieces of shrimp. Also included with this is sausage. It's very possible that you may like a very strong taste of Cajun. I love Cajun but this was just too much. My daughter had the Reuben which she said was very good. If you are looking for a place with a nice atmosphere, this place is it. There is also a bar when you first walk in which was very packed. Used to love coming here and still do, you can't beat the location. The prices though have gotten outrageous. An average steak is being priced at $36, seemingly charging for the location. Conneaut is an amazing place but these prices are comparable with those of Myrtle Beach restaurants. Service was great. read more

I went here after a day with friends on the lake and was very impressed with the food! I was unsure of ordering the sea scallop pasta as sometimes sea scallops can be questionable around here, but my eyes were wide as this dish came out with 4 gigantic perfectly seared scallops. The scallops tasted very fresh and were cooked absolutely perfectly. The pasta with a creamy tomato sauce (like a vodka sauce) was also quite delicious with perfectly cooked pasta and tasty sauce. Silver Shores was sadly a disappointment for us. We came here on my birthday for dinner based on the many great reviews that it has. We were told it was going to be a 20 minute wait, which ended up being more like a 35 minute wait. The location and view gives it great potential, and the staff was friendly. The food on the other hand was such a disappointment. The sea hag dip was mediocre and greasy, although the chips were good. The chicken Asiago looked as if it was made with generic frozen chicken. The lobster ravioli tasted as if it was cooked in a microwave and was very mediocre as well. We didn't stick around for dessert, and the dinner did not end up sitting well with our stomachs. It seems like the appeal of the restaurant is more so the bar rather than anything else. We are in the midst of a major spike in COVID cases and barely any of the staff were wearing masks, including our waitress. read more

This place was great and the lake view was awesome too! The food was better than the scenery here, and that's saying a lot, since this has a beautiful view of Lake Conneaut. We arrived with reservations, sat by the window for a large party, food was extraordinarily good. I had blackened grilled mahi, flaky, buttery and "ono delicious!" (The best in Hawaiian). My partner had the everything salad which was equally as great, but I preferred my dish a with the melt in your mouth fish!! For appetizers we had the fried zucchini which was also good, caprice salad, good but, lacked fresh basil? I love basil, but love mozzarella cheese even more. The marinara sauce for zucchini was delicious. Service was a little slow, but understandable since we had a large party. Dessert looked delicious but, we had no room for it. My boyfriend and I had gone to silver shores with our family many times. Tonight we went by ourselves and had a wonderful experience as always. I ordered the scallops and linguini in a rose sauce and it was cooked to perfection. My boyfriend ordered the gnocchi carbonara which is always a favorite of mine as well. The bacon on his was slightly burnt but over all great. We also ordered muscles for an appetizer and they are a MUST have. As you can see from the photos we were to excited and ate the muscles before the photo! I also recommend the sea hag dip! The service is amazing every time and our waitress this time was spot on! We were here in July, with COVID19 still going on so we sat outside by the dock area. The view was nice and the menu was simple, presumably there is a different menu for inside service. I had a tasty cheeseburger and my wife had a grilled chicken sandwich, both of which were very good. The service was fast and friendly and the beer was cold, what more could you ask for? read more
