This is an excellent restaurant. The two people working the counter were very nice and helpful. They showed us the popular items on the menu and gave us a booklet with descriptions of the menu item, which is great if you aren't familiar with Indian food. I had the veggie combo that includes the daal fry and paneer karahi and rice and naan. It was a lot of food. Both dishes were very flavorful and moderately spicy. The naan was fresh and soft. I also tried the veggie samosa and the garlic naan. The garlic naan was excellent. My family tried the chicken biryani (the rice was excellent, didn't try the chicken), beef nehari, and the seekh kebabs. Everything came out hot and fresh, and they enjoyed those dishes. The staff was very friendly and checked on us to make sure everything was ok. Definitely will be going back. read more

It should be called greasy spoon rather than Silver Spoon. I say this in a good way. If you're feeling really adventurous then try this place. I've been coming here for 15 years, since my days at good old RJHS. This is a small restaurant, maybe 15 people. No air conditioning, no silverware, only plastic. It's really really cheap, less than $7 per person. I recommend the Beef Nehari with paratha. The naan is fine if you must, but you'll like the paratha better. The biryani is good; as are the curries. This is a great, cheap little place. They also serve gyros and shawarma. The gyros are standard Cisco food compressed lamb. But the shawarma's are home made tasty goodness. If you have to go to the bathroom I'd say hold it. read more

I was in the mood for something different and found this place on Yelp and thought I'd give it a try. The restaurant itself is small and cute and we were the only ones there. The menu is up on the wall to your right as you walk up to the counter to order. Towards the front door there is a station with condiments, silverware, and water if you aren't getting a drink. I tried the Goat Combo Plate on recommendation from the gentleman who took my order and for some weird reason I've been craving goat. The goat was tender and flavorful. Goat portions are always kinda small everywhere and this place was no different. They do include a piece of tandoori chicken which was a pleasant surprise. I'd probably come here again. read more

Since moving from LA to the area we've been searching for a great Indian food restaurant. Silver Spoon is it! Great menu with lots of options and wven something for our more picky son. Yes, it's true, I will mostly write a review of a business if I really love it or if they pissed me off and need to let them know how horrible they were. Either way, upon arrival at the Silver Spoon, my party and I were apprehensive as there was no one eating there, but we are glad we stayed. Food was very good. Had 4 combo meals ordered which includes main dish, rice, naan, drink and they added a small dessert for a little over $10, which is a great price for Indian food, especially delish Indian food....yes, I said delish! Our combos were of 2 orders of chicken tika masala, 1 goat karahi and 1 chicken korma. Tika masala was very flavorful and plenty of it. Korma was a little soupier than what we are normally used to, but also really good. The goat karahi was tender and the perfect amount of spices. Person who ordered this had never tried goat and was in love with it. Overall, great food and excellent service! Will definitely be back. Don't mean to be rude but have to say I feel as if I got ripped off. For the quality and quantity of the food it was too pricey. Maybe if the butter chicken actually tasted like butter chicken and the kabob wasn't full of salt then maybe I'd be happy with those prices. Came here with my husband, we ordered a chk biryani, nehari, chk boti roll, lahori fish and gulab jamun and OMG OMG everything was sooo amazing. The right amount of spices and the portions were the right size, the fish is the BEST on their item, definitely try it! I have been craving spicy, rich in flavor Indian food for the past 4 days so I turned to Yelp to help me find a new restaurant. I found great reviews for silver spoon so I decided to stop by and was thoroughly disappointed. I don't care for ambiance. I'm just looking for good food, not fabulous decor. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and chicken biriyani with naan. The portion was decent for the price but it was so horribly bland. I asked for extra spicy so I expected it to make my nose run and my body sweat but there was no spice. There was no flavor to either dish. The biriyani tasted like basic rice and chicken. The chicken tikka masala tasted like chef boyardi tomato soup. They were both just so bland. I spent $15 on the both items and I have leftover food, which I will probably give to my friend. My tummy is content but my mouth is still craving good Indian food. I probably will not revisit the silver spoon. read more

I've been to Silver Spoon many times and have always had a superb experience: the food is delicious and ample and the service is always fast and very friendly. I typically get the chicken combination plate which comes with chicken tandoori, chicken biryani and chicken curry, a bit of rice, a massive naan and a delicious tiny cup of an almond-y custard. The atmosphere is incredibly laid back and welcoming and makes for a great place to park it for a couple of hours with a friend, be it over lunch or dinner. read more

We (my friends and I) think that this place, of the many restaurants we have visited, will give us the best street cred as far as having memories of the ethnic restaurants in this area. A generation or two from now, this area will probably look very different, and we will recall when there was this wonderful little place that was around for all this time. Pakistani food just doesn't get better than what you can find at this tiny treasure. I've tried a good half of the dishes here over the years and all are cooked perfectly and assembled with care. Beautiful family run operation. Love the family. Super nice. They have decent desi food when it comes to curries and biryanis. There Kabab's are just simply over salty. I have mentioned it to them. No response yet. Times are changing and restaurants have to adapt to healthier food otherwise they will be suffering in the long run. This place is a constant for my wife and I. I've also brought several friends and everyone has always been impressed. The owners are great people, the food is flavorful and fresh, and the prices are almost hard to believe. $6 for lunch in Dallas? Yes, it can be done. There is a Subway next door that would not survive if more people were willing to take a chance on a small dive. Tip: The first time you are there, tell them what you like or don't like. I didn't realize this place served Pakistani/Indian type food, even though I have driven past it for years to the other such places further up the road. Compared the other options for that nearb (e.g., Indo-Pak, Chameli, Boti Grill) the food was quite good. It was less oily than at those places, as well. What really stood out, however, was the super-friendly service by the person taking our orders. That alone is worth going back for, and I definitely will. read more

Such nice people. Really a lovely, family ambiance and I believe everyone will be well treated here. However, the actual food is really bland. Perhaps for western palates (who may not be used to the best of what Pakistan has to offer) it might be ok, but for everyone else you will find yourself wondering where the flavors are. This is a small restaurant which I came across due to yelp. The dhaba chai is 5 stars and the beef samosas are delightfully crispy with a hint of mint. Got the Lahori fish with rice and it was very flavorful and the fish was fresh. Will definitely go back for the chai, samosas and try a few more dishes. Food was decent, but portions felt a bit skimpy to me for the price that we paid. I got the small grill plate and was still pretty hungry for paying $17 a meal. Meat was good but I didn't care much for the available sauce choices. Maybe give a tikka masala sauce on the side of these combos. read more

Our experience was EXCELLENT! we were party of 7 adults and 3 kids & their yummy food satisfied everyone's palate We had Biryani, Fish ( enough reason to return to this place) chicken Karahi, Mutton Qorma, da'al & bagharey baigan and mouth watering samosas as appetizer :) The owners were greeting everyone by name & many eating there were repeat customers ! The lunch portion was huge & meal was delish to the last bite, yum yum! Delicious!!! I wasn't a fan of Indo-Paki food 'til I discovered this place. The owners must have a sense for how much spice a white folk can tolerate because their mild lentils make me cry out of joy not pain. Worth the drive from Lake Highlands all the way to Spring Valley. Had their beef sandwiches too in the crunchy deep fried bread. I felt like crawling in that sandwich and take a nap. Thanks to those I might consider moving in one of the apartments next door. I'd give it 5 stars except a couple of times the restaurant closed early, long before it's official closing hour, a very good sign since that meant they ran out of food...but that didn't help my disappointed hungry tummy. read more
