Tried multiple things here, they had their chaat night so tried samosa chat, dahi bhalla, pani puri. Pani puri was decent but other two weren't that good. Also tried their veg korma, butter chicken and neither of them were good. Both were very sweet. After finishing my dentist appointment, my mother and I went next door to Marina's Indian cuisine. After not eating all day I was bound to like anything that entered my mouth but I was mistaken. To start off we were seated in an empty restaurant which was a bit off putting. After being seated my mom noticed the odd smell resonating with the table which I could confirm. In a few moments a gentleman came to take our order and didn't know tamil which came as a big surprise to us but allowed my mom and I to talk poorly about the food right in front of their faces. The first appetizer was the gobi manchurian which upon first bite tasted good including the fact that we haven't eaten all day but upon our 3rd and 4th bite we grew distasteful of the food. There was no crisp to the gobi and the mushiness grossed me out. It's like eating a crispy apple sauce and if that sounds appetizing to you then i suggest visiting a psychiatrist soon. Following this I had the bai veetu biriyani which means house biriyani in english and if that is a representation of your crib i don't want to be there ever again. Extremely bland biriyani and i suffered insane fatigue while eating this dish. I took sips of the water and it genuinely had more flavor than the biriyani itself. Absolutely terrible dish and as a person from chennai myself I can't believe this restaurant claims to represent us. Miserable biriyani and the store owner needs to be interrogated for making and serving this. I thought it couldn't get worse but my god the samosa chat came out. It looked like cereal with no milk. When it was served I gasped and even shed a tear. The dish was so terrible that the server had to inform us that the actual chaat was under all the crisps and when i dug under the horror continued. It was just peas. I don't eat vegetable and to just see 100s of peas made me want to vomit and cry in my mother's arms. My mom laughed before realizing that this wasn't a joke. She then cursed in tamil before crumbling the entirety of the restaurant with the snap of her fingers. Lastly I had to find a server to ask for the check because I was so eager to leave. Absolutely terrible food and will never ever step into this restaurant ever again or within 3 miles of this place. First time dinning here, I was looking with my wife for a chicken kurma dinner Server explained that the chicken had bones in it, we thought we could handle that and agreed with the plate, we also requested one garlic and plain nun Dinner showed up and had nothing but bones with the gravy, nun didn't come out, server forgot to order Food got cold and didn't look good and I said I didn't want the nun anymore and neither the dinner because I didn't like it Server said I had to pay anyway I pay the bill but I got to tell.... My husband has been on a mission to try every new-to-him Indian restaurant we come across, so we made our way to Frisco to check out Marina's, and it didn't disappoint! He ordered the Non-Vegetarian Thali and really enjoyed it. The Shrimp Chili was a standout (full of flavor) and the Parotha was perfectly crisp. We also loved both the coffee and mango lassi, which were excellent. I went with the Paneer Butter Masala, which was decent but not something I'd personally order again. That said, Marina's has an impressive variety of dishes spanning both South and North Indian cuisines, so there's plenty to explore for all tastes. It's a smaller restaurant with good food and plenty of options, and while some dishes might hit or miss depending on preference, we found more to love than not. Enter into the Chennai beach vibes with decor that makes you feel right at the location. Start or end your meal with a masala flavored tea followed by a Medu Vada appetizer. Food is traditional Chennai style masala (Potatoe stuffed) dosa, 3 flavored chutneys are an amazing compliment. If you like meat, you can even have your dosa with a side of goat curry! To die for :-) but what is better than parotta and egg (1 pc) masala? Reasonable priced and efficient staff. Stumbled across this place as I had to wait for my next meeting, and happy that I did! The staff was super welcoming from the start, very attentive, and did not stop working from the time I entered. Was going to try the fish curry, but they use tilapia which I don't eat, so went with my go to Chicken Tikka Masala, Naan, and Mango Lassi. The drink was the best I've had by far and the Masala had nice chunks of onion and bell peppers letting you know how fresh it was. I don't know how this place managed to hide from us this long when we live right down the street but we finally found this cozy cove and it will most certainly become part of the regular rotation. After at least 7mins of deliberating our order, we finally managed to settle on chili chicken, Kerala fish curry and idiyappam with a veg curry. Curry doesn't come with any rice or bread, so choose your own adventure - we got parotta and garlic naan for the table. The food arrived quickly and I was first apprehensive that it wouldn't be enough food but wow, I really didn't realize the wave they had inundated us with until I started diving in. My parents, boyfriend and I absolutely loved what we got. It's going to be really hard not to order the same thing next time but the rest of the menu is delightfully inviting, so we absolutely must. Notes: Expect quite a bit milder heat than other South Indian places. I'll definitely order more spicy next time. But I love the accessibility for those who can't handle too much heat. I stopped by here for dinner. It did seem a little understaffed and the service desk was on the opposite side of the restaurant. I wasn't sure if I was going to be seated so I walked up to the front and I was asked to take a seat at a table. A few minutes after I was handed a menu and a bottle of water. It took a few minutes for the staff to take my order, but it was acceptable because I knew how busy they were. I ordered a Chole Bhature and 2 Parotta with Veg Curry (Veg Korma). They informed me that the Chole Bhature would took 15-20 minutes to make. The Chole Bhature was so worth the wait. The bread was served hot, and it was incredibly fluffy. The Bhature + Chole (Chana Masala) was enough to make me nearly full. I recommend trying this out if you can! The Parottas were so flaky and tasted even better with the Veg Korma. My only complaint was that I wasn't provided any napkins or silverware. Fortunately, I didn't make too much of a mess and I was able to clean up in the washroom in the back. For the price I paid for both of these dishes, this was so worth it. I also had enough to take home. I paid at the desk and was informed that they didn't accept tips (via card) so I provided a cash tip instead. I'll be back again to try the pizza and curries + naan. I've had good Indian food at several locations in Texas, but I have to be honest, I HAVE NEVER HAD INDIAN FOOD THIS GOOD. My first experience here was after my wife stopped and picked up dinner to go. When we had the food on our plate, we both at the same time realized she stumbled on something good. This place is so good that tonight, we decided to drive to Frisco and try it in person. We arrived early evening, and surprise, THIS PLACE WAS PACKED. I have a rule with packed locations... while I realize my food may take a little longer to get to me, I also realize the staff is running around and doing their best to get our food out to us... I also realize that this place is packed for a reason. The food is delicious. I ordered some somosas as an appetizer, but my main entree was butter chicken. My wife order paneer tikka masala along with naan and veggie beryani. I can't begin to explain how delicious this food was getting it fresh from the kitchen. We were super hungry and really enjoyed our food. The staff here is really nice, I don't know my servers name, but he was awesome. I was broken hearted to hear that you can only tip in cash, so I was not able to leave a tip. Worse yet, we had to leave and pick someone up, so we didn't have an opportunity to leave to get tip money and come back. Rest assured on my next trip, I will tip double. TLDR: this place would be good take out your significant other if u don't care about service or flavor of the food The gobi manchurian was undercooked and under seasoned much like the training of the service staff. Tasting half cooked cauliflower is never a good sign when dining at an Indian restaurant. Stuffed mirchi fritter was pretty good and had a good amount of stuffing. The chutneys that were served with it complemented the dish well. We also got the chicken mughlai curry. It was not very good. Completely lacked seasoning and I suspect that they just heated up a base curry and threw some chicken in the mix. Paneer curry was alright and was better than the chicken curry. Also the butter naan had no butter and when we sent it back, they put butter on the first one and left the rest completely dry The front house was incredibly nice when we were being seated. The servers need more training. Who brings out the main course before the appetiser? There should be more coordination between the kitchen and the service and time when courses should go out. I have visited this restaurant twice! It's an authentic South Indian establishment, which is quite rare to find in Dallas. The Gobi twister is a must-try dish; we had it on both occasions, and it was amazing! They serve chili parotta, which I haven't found elsewhere. The vaducurry dosa is decent, not exceptional. However, the jigardthana, which we ordered both times, is incredibly tasty! The portion size of the panner puluv is generous and it tastes fantastic; it can easily serve three people. The Highway chili panner is a standout dish with its distinct flavor. Additionally, they serve bisebelabath with appam, which is equally delightful. The ambience is very good and calm !
