We went to Silverspur in Menard on a Saturday evening around 8 PM. Right when we arrived, the place felt a little chaotic--staff seemed overwhelmed, especially the host. While everyone was friendly, the overall customer service could definitely use some improvement, including our waitress. She was very nice and polite, but clearly overwhelmed. She didn't tell us about the crawfish boil special until the owner happened to come by and mentioned it. She also forgot to bring us refills for our teas unless we specifically asked. And when we did get refills, there was no ice. It felt like the team could benefit from more training to create a smoother experience. That said, the atmosphere was really nice. They have an outdoor patio with chairs where a live singer was performing. It was a great touch for the Memorial Day weekend! Now for the highlight: the food. I ordered the ribeye meal, which comes with two sides and a roll--all for just $39. It was an amazing deal. My ribeye was cooked perfectly to medium and was honestly one of the most delicious steaks I've ever had. I heard the owner runs a ranch, and you can really taste the quality of the meat. For my sides, I had the broccolini and truffle mac & cheese--both were flavorful and a perfect complement to the steak. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals. One minor hiccup: we were charged for each tea refill, which was a surprise, but it was thankfully corrected at the end. All in all, Silverspur has fantastic food, a great outdoor vibe, and friendly staff. With a bit of polish on the service, it could easily become a go-to spot.

13 minutes ago New Hidden gem! If you're in the area, check it out! This is the nicest place in town! Excellent service, food, and decor. There is a large outdoor patio with tables and an additional seating area in front of an outdoor fireplace. They also have a few air bnb's on property, and a boutique! The savory bacon jam burger is excellent. The patty melt is served on perfectly seasoned Texas Toast. Generous portions. They also have sliced ribeye sandwich, chicken fried steak, filet, queso, quail, and more!

Great spot for drinks, country dancing, and a little pool sharking, if that's what you're into!…read more We came here for the Hunter's Ball and had a good time, but I was a little disappointed to learn that it was going to be a DJ, instead of a live band. Had some drinks, played some pool, and entered the gun raffle. They have a great dance floor, but there weren't too many single guys to dance with by 9PM...and I asked a lot of guys if they could dance, and they looked like deer in headlights...so we ended up leaving to hit another dancehall. I think there was a big group having a birthday party, so it was a lot of people, but not a lot of dancers. I'd come back here when I want to get out of my small town, but plan to stay late and see who shows up!

Latino musicnight last night was a true disappointment. Owner/DJ/@pardners stating that something…read more"isn't racist" does not negate the intent or the impact it may have had. Repeating that it wasn't racist and defending that behavior doesn't make it acceptable -- it only serves to dismiss legitimate concerns and brush them aside. By definition, racism involves treating someone unfairly, excluding, harassing, or demeaning them based on their race or ethnicity. When the DJ used the phrase "your people," it was clearly exclusionary. When he said, "If I only play Latino music, then the others will leave," it positioned our presence as a problem and created a sense of unwelcome. The situation escalated further when our group was asked to leave -- not for being disruptive, but simply for disagreeing with the music -- while the DJ referred to us as "you and your fucking people." That is not only unprofessional, but also deeply offensive and humiliating. Even your comment about "staying in your own lane" implies exclusion. Why? Because we voiced our disagreement? Because we stood up for ourselves and asked to celebrate Latino culture on a night that was specifically promoted as Latino Night? You've suggested this issue only occurred because your regular DJ wasn't present, but this behavior reflects a broader, ongoing pattern. Regardless of who was in the DJ booth, the treatment of that group was inappropriate and inexcusable. Defending it -- and attempting to shift the narrative -- is deeply disappointing. And respectfully, claiming that you used your own money to promote Latino Night in an attempt to gain sympathy is out of touch. You own a large, well-established club. Investing in the promotion of your own events is a business expense -- not a personal sacrifice. If you'r going to promote a cultural night, you have a responsibility to respect and honor the community you're representing.
