The campground has a lake with a beach area, you can fish in the lake, boats to rent, a path around the lake which you can walk, game room, playground, volleyball and basketball in large grass area which would be great for other activities, onsite laundry and camp store. Most sites that we could see had a definitive slant to it. Also, the one way roads route you through the permanent residents every time you come into the park. Worth getting over though because the people running the place are extremely friendly and helpful. Our month stay here was very enjoyable. We did not get to use the pool but it looked great. (daughter was sick - then it was raining). The little playground was nice. We would probably stay here again if we thought we could get a flatter site. Everything else was great.

Campsite was clean and quiet…read more The Pocono 400 was scheduled for this weekend, we didn't go, and a forecast of thunderstorms might have kept people away. This place is clean, my girls commented the bathrooms were super clean, the grounds were well manicured. A pool was offered, a mini front office/store, and bingo. You will be assigned a key card to re-enter the grounds, there is a gate at the front with only one road for incoming and outgoing. Owners were very nice. There are a few rules and might sound a little strict but any sensible camper won't have any issues. I can see where the Pocono Speedway could bring in the party people, again I had no issues. We stayed here as were doing Camelback adventures which was conveniently 10 minutes away. 15 min away is a Walmart, CVS. I would stay here again, and cost was reasonable. My site had full hookup.

There are music weekends all summer long, Grateful Dead, Phish, Pearl Jam, Alannis and so much more. Only thing that wasn't awesome was the huge heated pool was closed after Labor Day. I'll make sure to hit it in the spring. Family run and lotsa fun. They have camping from tent to large RV and many on site rental options like cabins and yurts.

There are 2 lakes for swimming..boating and fishing. There is also a heated inground pool. Many weekend activities to keep you busy. Some weekends there is a band or dj. Lots of area to walk and hike. Craft building you can do ceramics on a sat morning. There is a playground for the kiddies. The sites are very large. There are also trailers to rent if you dont have camping equipment of your own. Seasonal sites also available. Lovely manicured grounds with flowers. We are sooooo thankful we made this place our "home away from home"!

I've camped at Hickory Run a few times and although this time there were some updates, there were…read moresome major downfalls. I stayed in the organized group camping area and loved how the sites that we booked allowed for plenty of tents to spread out within your group. We stayed in J, K and L. Last year there were porter potties and this year there was a bathhouse. Sadly there were no showers, the family bathroom was locked all weekend, and maintence getting to the bathroom was not good. Wehad to walk through a field of knee high grass to get there. During peak tick season, this was not ideal. Lastly, quiet hours apparently do not exist this is area of camping. Groups around us were chanting and singing before 5am and had an intense volleyball match at 6am. Boyscotts camped near us and were up late screaming until 12am. There needs to be more ranger presence, this truly altered our experience. The state park itself has great hiking and swimming area but the organized group sites were very mismanaged.

The hike was moderate, highly recommend hiking boots, as its down hill short trial, but well worth the view of the 25 foot water fall. Perfect early week activity, and best of all was free to visit, not like the state parks in NY.
