Basic Lakeside cabin. Fridge/freezer/microwave. Bit chilly when it was 45 degrees but still better than a tent!

Great first experience at a gay camp ground. Opening weekend was a bit chilly but still a lovely and lively place!

My husband and I had a fantastic July 4th weekend at The Woods! This is our third year coming back to camp and we're always excited to come back! Obviously things are different this year with the pandemic. But Management is doing an outstanding job of keeping us all safe. They're also working to make things feel as normal as possible. This year we stayed in a tent in the brand new Groves section. The Groves section is by the lake and has lots of trees for shade. It also has a beautiful brand new bathroom/ shower. We can't wait to come back next month!

The Woods is a great, inclusive and modern campgrounds. They constantly invest back into the campgrounds. Every season it is exciting to see what improvements and new amenities have been made. This is one of the best LGBT focused locations. I can never go often enough! There's something for everyone. Great theme weekends, activities, community, a pool, lake, bonfire, volleyball, cafe, restaurant, clean bathroom facilities and extensive hiking trails. A great place to make and meet friends!

The best campground in the Tri-State area. The vibe is lit. People are truly truly diverse here and welcoming. Felt like a home away from home. Amazing pool, amenities, hiking, scenery and treatment. Special thanks to Dan on customer service who helped us find a place to stay during Memorial Day weekend and for being a nice fella to the people and the employees. Thanks for everything.

Woods campgrounds is the best gay, clothing optional camp getaway. I went the middle of July and went during the week for bear week. Relaxing at the pool, hiking in the trails, or dancing at night there is so much to do. Everyone is friendly and it's very peaceful. Walking around is a fun way to see and meet others. The staff is friendly and there store sells all of kinds of things that you will like. I'm going back in August for more fun. Highly

Aug 22-24, 2008 "Foam Party" The Woods is a private, members-only campground that caters to gay and lesbian adults. It is set way back in the Poconos, away from prying (and disapproving) eyes. The facilities are well above-par for campgrounds. Many sites have electric, water and sewer connections, others are unimproved. If all the sites are sold out for a particular weekend, you can pitch a tent in "the field". The comfort stations are clean and well maintained with actual flushing toilets. Lack of hot water is hardly ever an issue. The pool is clean and the hot tubs are plentiful. The grounds are safe and in good condition, with a pond for paddleboating and lots of trails to hike on. They have a disco with a DJ on the weekends and a bonfire to gather around. There is a different theme every weekend (check the website). I've been coming to The Woods almost from the beginning, and I have to say that the owners obviously take great pride in their establishment. The roads have all been improved and you never see a piece of trash laying around or anything in disrepair. Since they bought the place, they've made major improvements each and every year. The nicest part about The Woods is the campers. Camping folk are usually super cool anyway, and gay campers are even moreso. The crowd varies from week to week, although there are many "perms" who maintain permanent campsites. Forget something? Just ask the guys next door. Compliment the lesbians around the corner on the smell of their cooking and they might invite you to join them for dinner. If you need someone to tie your corset, zip up your gown and makeup your adam's apple, just holler. The folks are so cool. The Woods is open all week in season but it's really about the weekends. Pick a theme that suits and reserve your site early, because the popular weekends fill up fast. Wait too long and you'll be stuck with Foam Party weekend - which turned out to be EXCELLENT! If you wish to indulge in adult beverages, make sure to bring your own. Camping essentials and sundry items are available in the store on premesis, but I recommend you bring your own as the markup is pretty steep. Food is available in the restaurant during limited hours. I had a chicken salad sandwich that was quite good. I think the prices are too high but is probably reflective of their clientèle, which includes a lot of New Yorkers and Philadelphians, they might not mind paying $6 for a sandwich. As for me - I usually bring my own food. I like to cook and to prepare gourmet feasts for my friends. I insist on campsites with electricity so I can bring small appliances, most importantly the coffee maker. If you need to get away from it all and a weekend of "roughing it" in the mountains is enticing to you, consider coming to The Woods for some fresh air and sunshine. Ask the Community - The Woods Campground

Do they have a place to set up texts and camp and if so is there a cost to do so?

The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, making it perfect for a weekend getaway or a longer stay. you'll feel right at home here. Until it changed ownership. The last time we were there, we were enjoying a family bike ride. We have e-bikes, but they are fully insured and we were wearing helmets, my son was also wearing a helmet safely in his burley bee. The owner decided it was a good idea to question the use of our e-bikes, being uneducated about the use of ebikes, talking about how they don't have insurance to cover e-bikes even though we have our own insurance. Then we decided to give them another shot and booked a trip, paid a good amount of money for a deposit. We had to unfortunately cancel that trip and rebook, and we told them specifically we want to book for Labor Day 2026. Instead of actually having a calendar in front of them doing the booking, they booked us for end of August. As soon I discovered that the dates were wrong, I did try and change it to actual Labor Day weekend but they wanted an extra 100-200 which we would have had no issue with if they had indeed listened and booked us for Labor Day weekend originally. So now due to a family emergency we have to cancel our reservation. And we politely asked to reschedule. Never have I waited two days for a response from any campground in the over 15 years of camping, until this incident. They did respond and said yes of course you can reschedule for later this season. when would you like to reschedule? About 4 hours later they sent me a new email saying "oops sorry we can't reschedule because it was already rescheduled." And then sent the most corporate answer ever, with a copy and paste of their cancellation policy. So that's fine, be like a corporation instead of a family run campground. Just a heads up for anyone who owns e-bikes, and for anyone expecting a family friendly, family run business, this is not the place. I'm very saddened by this as we used to frequent this campground and we really loved it. It pains us that this is how it ends up.

The main building consists of the camp office and store, laundry and bathhouse facilities. The large swimming pool and community area/fire pit were adjacent. The sites are very spacious and not on top of your neighbor! SB probably has the most space between sites in most of the campgrounds we have visited. In addition to being spacious, the sites were very level, with good water pressure, and consistent power. Our site was gravel, but there are quite a few with concrete pads. The recreation amenities include a playground, basketball courts, gaga ball and swimming pool. The pool is large and appropriately sized for the size of the resort. We loved how there is a sitting ledge along the outside of the whole pool. Regular activities are scheduled for guests throughout the season. It was the yearly cornhole tournament on our weekend, which was well organized. French fries and fresh corn on the cob were free to all guests during the afternoon of the tournament (both delicious). The staff were all very friendly and helpful! The Manager was always visible not only at the facilities, but regularly driving around the resort checking on things, delivery wood, etc. He would always go out of his way to help a guest. The only minor negative of our stay was the poor WIFI strength. WIFI was good at the main building/pool, but non-existent farther out in the campground. At dark, we also saw three chirping otters floating down the river together... very adorable. It is way more wild than other campsites, so of course leave your food and cooler in your car.
