We got there around 10:45 am on a Sunday. It was full capacity. Waiter informed us of a 35 min wait for a 4-person table. It would have been nice if they had seating outside to wait on. They did have like 3-4 chairs inside (2 were occupied) to wait on. We sat down 20 min later, we ordered right away. Our food arrived at 11:40 am. I ordered the Choriquiles. I didn't see any red chorizo on it? But then again, I was so hungry at this point, I ate it so fast I could have missed it! It was tasty, and the black beans taste homemade. Service is everything and this place lacks service. You check in with the hostess and will receive a text when your table is ready. This system is flawed and has money walking out the door. There were several empty tables at all times. Tried to place a takeout order but no one even acknowledged us at the counter to order. The hostess came over and I asked her how long will it take to get our food and she replied with about 45 minutes unless it's something quick. We left. Though there was several people behind the counter, there was only one person serving food, which made for a lengthy wait time on simple dishes like biscuits and gravy and pancakes. For a basic menu, the prices were about twice what you would normally pay for a café breakfast. The brewed coffee cost the same price as Starbucks, and they did not offer any espresso drinks. Delicious! I had the Greek omelet, and my husband had the chest pounder burger. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and the portions were large with 2 sides each (neither of us finished everything we got). Our usual breakfast place in San Marcos is closed on Tuesdays so we took a chance on this place and we were SO glad we did! A little off the beaten path but worth it. Ambiance is absolutely lovely. The decor and use of colors is very warm and inviting. Staff are outstanding. There isn't a bazillion tables crammed in the dining room like a lot of other breakfast establishments. Portions are huge but who cares if it doesn't taste good and you only need one if it's good but the quality just wasn't there. They put so much sugar in the sauce that it was horrible, inedible. I ate what I could stomach out of hunger but we will never return. Too many places do this with sugar to make it addictive but they have no idea what they are doing because they took it too far. Oh my gosh where to start.... Today was our first time here. Our server Connor was absolutely incredible. He was so kind and friendly. Our our son is autistic and is very particular about his eggs Connor told the kitchen exactly how we wanted the eggs cooked and they did a wonderful job accommodating us. The food is ABSOLUTELY amazing. The home fries are sooooo flavorful and delicious. The pancakes are simple yet delicious, the French toast sooooo yummy. Even the coffee is delicious. This new little gem of a restaurant is my new favorite place! I fell in love with the decor, it's got a beautiful punched tin ceiling and has a really cozy, cool vibe. Our server told us his family owns it and you can definitely see that pride of ownership in every aspect of this restaurant. Every single person we dealt with was beyond fantastic. (Can I say kind?) They have a delicious menu! I'm warning you , once you eat their turkey sausage you will never want regular sausage again-it is that good! And the server said it is homemade in-house. The food was excellent, the presentation was perfect. My friend ordered one of their specialty drinks and she said it was fantastic. I'm eating light these days and guess what? They have a senior menu and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. So I had a simple meal. I had eggs , poached to perfection-I'm a stickler about that. I had a fruit bowl brimming with fresh berries of all sorts along with apples & melons. They don't give you any wimpy glasses of iced tea-it's a whoppin big one- so you don't have to wait for refills if you like to guzzle tea like I do. The young man at the bar was very attentive and he was funny we spoke about their food and he mentioned that they make their ham and turkey on site including their corned beef hash. Now let me tell you something about the corned beef hash.. IT IS QUITE POSSIBLY THE BEST CORNED BEEF HASH IN SAN DIEGO!! If you are looking for canned corned beef hash.. you will not find it here!! This place cooks actual corned beef brisket on site and makes their own corned beef hash. It is soooooo good! Today I had the corned beef hash eggs Benedict and everything that I ate was very flavorful, fresh, and delicious! This is definitely a hidden gem in Vista. If you have not tried this place you need to the next time you need a great breakfast. My wife and I stopped by the other day for the first time and we will be back. My wife had the Grandpas bowl and I had French Toast with a side of eggs and ham. Everything was done to perfection. The servers were wonderful and your coffee cup will never get down to the bottom. Cozy atmosphere, very clean and comfortable. Their home fries are also very good. My wife did not order them with her Grandpas bowl so I asked our server and he gave me a sample.
