Silverback really seems like a family-run restaurant, and you can feel it in everything they do. The quality of the food, service, and hospitality were all fantastic. Every single person we interacted with was kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Eating out with a toddler can sometimes be stressful, but they made sure our little dude was taken care of from beginning to end. That alone made the experience stand out. As for the food, they had the best corned beef hash I've ever had. The potatoes were perfectly crispy and the meat was incredibly flavorful. The Silverback French toast was also a delicious treat. And as a bit of a coffee snob, I'm usually hesitant to order coffee at restaurants because I'm disappointed about 90% of the time. Their house coffee, though, was smooth, flavorful, and actually really good! We don't live in the area, but Silverback is definitely going on our list for the next time we're back. The only downside was the wait. It took about an hour to get seated and another 45 minutes for our food, which took up a big part of our morning. If they could improve the kitchen wait time, this would easily be a 5-star experience. That said, the food was definitely worth it! The fresh-squeezed orange juice was delicious, and we loved the old-fashioned waffle and breakfast burritos. I would still come back because the food is that good. They took our phone number, so we walked around the corner and grabbed a couple of drinks while we waited. To our surprise, only about 15 minutes later, our table was ready! Everyone at Silverback was so nice and welcoming. The food came out quickly, portions were generous--even the senior portion was pretty large--and everything was really good. July featured the following 4 flavors, ranked from my favorite to least favorite: butterbeer, animal circus, apple pie, and smokes. But honestly it was just a matter of preference and they were all tasty. There were so many meals that caught our eyes. First time trying Silverback and it was great despite being super busy on a Saturday morning. The wait I was told was 45 mins but ended up only being about 15. The host and servers were super friendly. Ordered the Brisket has and eggs with an extra egg, an omelette with an extra side, fresh squeezed OJ, Coffee and a latte. All prepared beautifully and quickly. Multiple servers came around to top off coffee and waters while checking in on us. Added a giant cinnamon roll to go. We both left with plenty of leftovers. Great breakfast find, worth the wait! Coffee lovers- they have a flight of coffee on the menu. We arrived around 10am and waited about 40 minutes. There were 7 of us. They do have a couple chairs outside. Plenty of parking in the lot with street parking available if it's full. Very attentive staff which came around plenty of times when coffee was low. Our food arrived all at once which always provides for a positive experience. The coffee was great and the food was wonderful. I will definitely be eating here again. I went to meet with a group of six at noon so two of us arrived at 11:30. We were seated by 11:45 on a Monday. Food is delicious and sizably portioned. I had the veggie omelet with hash browns. The hash browns were perfectly cooked: crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The veggie omelet was stuffed with freshly sautéed spinach, broccoli, mushrooms and onions and topped with cheese and avocado. Perfect after a game of pickleball!! We knew we were going to be in Vista and wanted to try something new and the shining Yelp reviews are what convinced us to stop by! They were not exaggerating! This place is like if your favorite local coffee shop and bakery doubled as a delicious breakfast restaurant with fair prices for huge portions. The decor and ambiance were very nice and modern, plenty of deep wood tones to make it feel warm and inviting. We ordered a latte flight because their coffee drinks all sounded so good that we couldn't decide and we definitely don't regret it. We could tell each drink was crafted so intentionally because the flavors were very distinct and accurate to their menu descriptions, all without covering up the flavor of the espresso. The barista offered to let us know which drink was which once she served us, and I wouldn't shut up the whole time about how this place was made for people like us who love coffee and just want to try everything. I will be coming back for a full sized Spider Monkey (great spiced mocha flavor+loved the crunchy texture that's reminiscent of java chips!). We had the House Hash and Choriquiles which BLEW US AWAY COMPLETELY. There was so much flavor in the salsa and also in the side of beans. I'm talking about the kind of flavor that's punchy and addicting and just plain unforgettable. Shoutouts the cook on the egg station for making my sunny-side up eggs perfectly. You know their staff are at the top of their game when you order your dish with no sour cream and no avocado and a server (who did not take your order) notices they're missing from your plate and offers to have the kitchen remake it! The place is on the side of a strip of stores. I have never seen it in all the years I've lived here. The French toast here was really good. The home fries I felt were seasoned with a lot of Italian and were ok. The bacon was good but not mouth watering good. The staff was overly nice, asking about drinks over and over, not taking no for an answer. But at least he was trying to be helpful and he was always nice. The place has gorillas everywhere, hence the silverback name. A lot of the staff were very fit so I was wondering if having a silverback build was a prerequisite to work here. read more

Friendly, easy going and flexible. There was a large party inside that was extremely loud so they offered to seat us outside which they normally don't have seating for. They were so nice and flexible! And let's not forget to mention the food. Absolutely incredible. My boyfriend and I got the cinnamon roll to start with as well the latte flight and everything was amazing!! Our mains were the south of the border skillet and the farmers benne. Both were 5 stars. Came in for the first time the other day with a group of friends. This place came highly recommended by one of my friends in the group. We were told that it would be an hour wait for 6 people and we arrived around 11:30am. The interior is nice and clean, not enough seating though. I ordered the mommaback coffee half sweetened. It was still super sweet with the half sweet option, I can only imagine what the full sweetness tastes like. It was good but I probably won't order it again due to too much sweetness even when modified. The California omelette was good, but felt like something I could make at home. They did make my hash browns well done and they were very good I will say. The sourdough toast with grape jelly is always good. My husband loved his chili omelette and said he would eat it again. Service here is top tier and the waiters stay holding it down putting up with nagging people always giving hard time. Not a lot of seating, but an appropriate amount. Wait time was an hour, but the text when your table method is helpful. The food was very good. Some of my friends ordered some speciality coffees which all had positive things to say about them. I ordered the fried chicken and Silverback French toast. If you like sweet, add the cream cheese icing. The fried chicken was very well cooked, no need for any extra sauces or anything. The only issue I had was, it said four pieces and I got three broken into four. The wing was provided, then the drumstick of the wing was broken off and provided as the fourth piece. To me, when you say leg on the menu, give an actual leg. They also ran out of iced coffee. I would go back, but if you get the chicken count your pieces haha read more

To be honest, I've been to a million restaurants where, when they drop the ball, they really don't seem to care--but here, it was a completely different story. The entire staff was so nice and genuinely apologetic. They even gave us a complimentary dessert, and the way they handled everything really made me feel better about the situation.
