It has been a really long time since I've ordered fried rice and not immediately smothered it in soy sauce because it is dry and bland. This fried rice was AWESOME! The egg roles were VERY GOOD and my daughter enjoyed the Lo Main. My husband is very picky but also enjoyed it. Food was fresh and tasty . I have found my place to get Hunan in Pearland. To start I ordered off the lunch menu which I still have leftovers for tomorrow . I have been coming here at least once or twice a month, for the past 12 years, food has been the same, the server has also been there that long, every now and then they have a different person, but food quality has gone down, the server seems to be maybe in a dark place, she used to talk and smile, I mean on $10 we would leve her $2-5 tip , but as of now this place , the food and the service is questionable, the attitude the faces, I think we will go elsewhere. We moved to Pearland in 2003 & luckily soon discovered Silverlake Hunan Restaurant. It is still our fav Hunan restaurant & we've never had a 'bad' dish though we've had some problems with some other local good restaurants, nor has there ever been an error with our 'to-go' orders. They also have delivery service. Over the years , we got to know this lady owner who ensures everything runs according to her high standards. Recently, she stayed months late after closing hours to remove the old flooring and laid the current one by herself and moved all the furnishings by herself and still operated during regular business open hours. For decades now, she completes her day job to then run this restaurant until closing & cleaning-up time after 11pm. I've been going to this restaurant for over 15 years since Pearland has been developing. I will say this - they quality of food is amazing. Hot and sour soup - 5/5 LOVE IT - I am very picky about my hot and sour soup 1 I can't stand when it's thick and too much cornstarch ..lack of flavor or too much salt. This restaurant isn't like that. I find they make their hot and sour soup perfect and consistent since I've been ordering here for many years. Love it. Delicious items: Crab yummy (fried cheese puffs) Egg rolls Pan friend dumplings General toas chicken Mongolian beef Hunan chicken Friend rice dishes Everything from fried rice, general toas, beef dish ...never disappoints. The food is good but I don't recommend eating in the inside. I feel like this place is good for take out only and here's why...... My mom and I came during lunch on a Friday. We was the only people but later more people came. You can pick where you wanna sit, I saw how dirty underneath the booths were so I was heck no, we will eat at the table. So we did. A small hole in the wall restaurant. Not real visible from the street. But it is well worth the effort to find it. I had the Hunan Beef with fried rice and an order of egg rolls. I made a to go order and was told it would be ready in 10 min. I sat down and five minutes later I had my food. Enough food for for two meals. Every bite was flavorful and just the right amount of spice. The best part was that it was still hot when I got home. I will definitely go back. Come on Hunan, lets start over. get rid of that Styrofoam and that plastic ware. When I tried to pick up a piece of chicken my plastic fork bent, so I had to resort to chop sticks to eat my food. I also noticed that the portions were a bit smaller, especially the soup. Start using your regular dish ware and sanitize your tables between guest. This could've been a solid three star neighborhood Chinese option, but several flubs kept them solidly in the Yelp two star description of "could've been better." So, on New Year's night, the lady friend and I decided we wanted Chinese near Pearland. And this came up as an option. We decided to dine in, which like others noted, seems to be a bit of an afterthought compared to to-go. It took a few minutes for the server to visit us between phone orders, but that's ok. Let's talk about the food and our experience. The fried pork potstickers were pretty standard, although both of us noted the sauce was sweeter than average. While I'd probably consider them again, I'd ask for chili oil to balance out the sweetness. She ordered General Tso's chicken, which was the best part of the meal. Pretty much the standard dish that you could get anyplace, but still good. I ordered the orange beef, which I'll get to describe in a moment. Oddly enough, our server brought out orange chicken, which she instantly recognized as a mistake and told us to keep while she went back to the kitchen. We received the orange beef promptly. Both dishes were similar. The orange sauce was surprisingly sweet and lacked any heat -- in fact, the dish didn't have any peppers in it like I've noticed at other places. What I did notice with both the orange beef and chicken were a large amount of bell peppers and onions, which I've never seen with orange beef or chicken, nor did I see in the menu's description. The verdict? It's serviceable strip mall Chinese, but which would benefit from both more spice and better descriptions on the menu. read more

Can't tell you if the food is any good, but customer service sucked. I understand we're currently in a different world due to Covid, but common curtesy should be still be in order. We had never eaten there before, I looked online and they said they were open for dining in and it's average was 4 stars, so we thought we would give it a try. We walk up (with our masks in place) and were met at the door with a very harsh "what do you want". I was taken a bit back, but asked if they were open for dining in, she said yes sit where you want.
