They offer a variety of Americanized and more authentic Chinese food options, specifically Schezuan style. Walking in, this restaurant is pretty spacious. They're able to accommodate a party of 10 with ease. Service wise, it's pretty quick and the food always comes out piping hot. I recommend ordering family style so you can try a little bit of everything. My top recommendations: Eggplant in garlic sauce, 3 flavor pepper chicken, salt and pepper shrimp, sizzling w/ 3 delicacies, shrimp dry hot pot, stir fried string beans, sizzling black pepper beef, biang biang noodles, and the beef tendon. Years ago when they first opened, they were good. Unfortunately, over time, this establishment has declined little by little. The wonton soup was not very good. The wonton noodles were so tough you couldn't cut into them. The pork had no flavor. The chunks of chicken were dry and rubbery. To top it off, I found a long sliver of metal in the food. There was only three other people dining at just after 12 noon, so that should have been a warning. In this places prime, they were packed for lunch. First timer, and the food was amazing! I had Chinese egg rolls (serving of 2) Small Hot & Sour soup Combo Biang Biang Noodle The strip mall look is deceiving.... Once you enter it super clean, organized and has a calming atmosphere. The waitress seated me immediately... and was attentive throughout my meal. Now to the food. Eggrolls... we're not the best and it tastes overcooked. Hot Sour soup, the small size is more like a medium size. It was really really good, tasteful. Not the best I have had, but better than most. Now the Biang Biang Noodles, wow what a meal, the hand mad noodles were thick, chewy and overcooked... just perfect. The pieces of meat chicken and shrimp was amazing . The sauce and its herbs was GREAT, just the right amount of coverage. The spice level was mild and not overpowering. It allowed you to enjoy all the flavors. The server was about 17 years old and mumbled the entirety of our experience. We got an appetizer of calamari, it was tasteless other than the sauce that came with it. The server brought out our main order about 1 minute after the appetizer. Not good service. Why rush it we are the only ppl there. Then they brought out the main dish along with our soups. Except they didn't bring out the rice for about another 5 minutes. When we were half way done with the main dish, they finally brought out the soup dumplings we had ordered. The soup dumplings were the best part of the meal. I'm not sure why this place has any good reviews other than people in pearland suburbs have no idea what good ethnic food actually is. We're very glad to have Spicy Banda in Pearland to enjoy both authentic and Americanized Chinese food! My hubby and I popped in on a cold Saturday day to a very warm and inviting restaurant. The wait staff was so friendly and attentive. Their chicken wings with spicy mayo came out hot and extra crispy. Their eggplant with garlic sauce was cooked to perfection, and their chicken with garlic sauce was steaming hot and went perfectly with fried rice. We were turned away an hour before closing. We showed up as a group of four and the hostess didn't greet us for about 5 mins. The first thing she said was that they were closing soon and that they recommend ordering to go. We said we were a group of 8 and the hostess rudely said they don't can't take parties larger than 6 without a reservation. It doesn't say that anywhere on the website just btw. The hostess tried to tell us we could only order to go and then changed her mind. I get that a large group can be a bit too much but she could've went about it in a better way. The employees were amazing and very welcoming however, that's where the praise stops. The food was horrible, I got the Flat noodles with chicken and was told it would be spicy so I asked for extra spicy paste on the side. Their idea of "spice" is oil with chili flakes in it. Once I realized that it wasn't spicy I asked for a side of paste and was told they don't have any... the place is called Spicy Panda and they don't have spice. The ambiance was beautiful. The decor was very nice. Staff was amazing. But the food was garbage to me. I water what I could from my plate but it wasn't good to me. I had the wonton soup and the egg drop soup. I had the general tso and the pepper beef off of the lunch menu. The general tso was better than the pepper beef in my opinion. The beef was very chewy. The bell peppers in the beef plate was all raw. I would have liked it cooked. But it was the consistency of the beef that I would not come back here. The broth in the wonton soup was good but the wonton and the meat tasted off to me. It tasted old. I heard there were 2 chefs. One cooks the food really good and the other chef was not as good. Where we sat we could see into the kitchen and for the time of day we went we were one of two tables. I always crave Sichuan food but living in league city the drive all the way downtown to Mala or Lao sze chuan is not worth always worth the time for me. I stumbled on to Banda one day while I'm Pearland and had a pretty good experience with their takeout style chinese and Sichuan dishes like their hot pepper chicken and cumin lamb. My brother and I have birthdays within a week of each other, so we always do a joint birthday outing with the fam. This year, we wanted something new to all of us so we chose Spicy Banda. Yes I said Spicy Banda. It was once named Spicy Panda until one of the major chains asked them to change their name for whatever reason. They really should leave these locally owned, small business owners alone, but i digress. This spot is located in East Pearland in an up and coming area with lots of new houses, shops and eateries. It anchors a shopping strip with plenty of parking. We came on a Sunday and it was fairly quiet. We did call ahead for our large party and they had a table ready for us when we arrived. A nice lady took really great care of us from start to finish and customer service was great all around. The owner/chef came and checked on us frequently and even ran over to be in our family pics. Spicy Banda specializes in fusion Szechuan cuisine and they do it really well. Our family loves this type of food and we especially love ordering a bunch of things and eating it family style. They definitely don't skimp on portions here and you get your money's worth of food, plus leave with a full belly and leftovers. We usually all order and entrée and pass our food around. Our table came equipped with a lazy Susan which made sharing so much easier. I'll just list what we got with a rating to make it easier. We called ahead to order a Peking Duck which I believe no one at are table other than myself has had. I'm used to getting it in Chinatown, but they do a pretty solid one here. Not as good as some of my favorite spots, but good. It came with pancakes which are like crepes and served with the typical sides of hoisin sauce, green onions and cucumbers. They take the carcass and then make a delicious duck soup that is also served with it. Our crowd now are Peking duck lovers. We also ordered 3 Flavor Pepper Chicken (5/5), Biang Biang Noodles (3/5), Chicken Fried Curry Rice (4/5), Cumin Lamb (4/5), and Crispy Fish in Thai Chili Sauce (5/5). The chicken and fish were the stars of the show and will be a order again item. Everything else was tasty as well though. We were all impressed with the food and very full and content after our meal. Overall, this was a great pick to celebrate our birthdays. Pearland has been surprising me with some of these new locally owned and operated Szechuan spots popping up. 3.5 edging up to 4. Stopped in with the family for dinner. Things were a little dirty on the table and around the restaurant. Nothing major, but enough to notice. They advertises as being a Szechuan restaurant, but when I asked if I could get some Szechuan pepper oil on the side. I was told they do not have that and they could bring me some whole peppercorns. Cheese Crab Puffs: 5 count for $5.60, very bellow average Crab puffs. The worst thing about the meal. I love Crab Puffs, best avoid these, not very big and not much flavor. Dan Dan Noodles: Not bad, but not very good. They had little to no flavor and not spicy at all. Pork Dumplings: Very good. nicely cooked, large dumplings. Would recommend. Orange Chicken: Large chunks of moist chicken, the batter was not too thick. Nicely cooked and the Orange flavor was not overpowering. The broccoli was not cooked or so lightly cooked I could not tell, however I would recommend. House Fried Rice: large portion. With a good balance of proteins and rice. The flavor was fine. All in all it was not a bad plate, but not the best ever. Baby Bok Choy in Garlic Sauce: Good portion of nicely cooked vegetables. If you are looking for a vegetable side I would recommend this. Crispy Fish in Thai Chili Sauce: I will start by saying we got the sauce on the side I think that is the way to go. The dish was a good portion of nicely fried fish. The sauce was very very good, it reminded me of Tomyum soup. Lots of lemongrass and other Thai flavors. I ended up dipping my fish into the sauce and preferred that to having it cover the fish. I will say that the sauce has a very strong flavor and some people my not like it, however I enjoyed it. All in all the experience was a positive one and if I lived closer this would probably be my go to take out Chinese food. Spicy Panda is a solid restaurant, but far from the best I have had. I'm happy to finally seeing more Asian food places pop up on this side of Pearland! My mom and I love discovering new Asian food places together, so we decided to give this place a try after seeing a couple of recommended posts about it on Facebook. Something unique that I've never tried before is the Szechuan Dry Hot Pot. My mom and I tried the chicken dry hot pot. It was so good and definitely flavorful from the spices. I liked the presentation and how it had a flame underneath the pot to keep it warm. I highly recommend trying for anyone's adventurous or has never tried this dish before. I decided to treat myself in a cold Friday night. Now there aren't many Szechuan restaurants here in the burbs so I was happy this opened up 5 minutes from me. I've had some pretty amazing Szechuan food before at other locations so I already had high expectations. Overall the food is fine. I got the Dan Dan noodles, soup bao and cheese puffs. Those spices that really highlight Szechuan food were missing . Since it was a cold night, I went for the soup bao but I was disappointed in the fact that there was barely any soup! Everything also came out cold which was surprising since it wasn't too busy or seemed that they were behind. They also only have canned sodas which is a personal pet peeve but that's just me. $2 for each can. This place has the best spicy and authentic szechuan food around Houston in my opinion. They have a wide variety of dishes, not only spicy foods, so menu is kid friendly too. My family and I dined here two days in a row because of how good it is. We were traveling and really wanted some good Chinese food, and Spicy Panda not only had the perfect food for our taste buds but also a very welcoming service. In all the dishes we ordered, I would highly recommend the Peking Duck (it's the chef's specialty), the soup bao, and 3 flavored pepper chicken. The peking duck was very crispy and juicy, and the duck has the right split of fatty and lean tender meat, which is not common for restaraunts have and cook it so well. The order comes with the duck soup, it was so comforting on a cold winter night. I like to wrap my slice of meat with some scallions and their special house sauce in a super thin flour wrap for the most peking duck experience. 3 flavor pepper chicken is like popcorn chicken, but without chilli powder covering the chicken. Very crunchy and big tender cuts of chicken. Pair it with 3 different peppers will make your mouth very watery after haha The chicken itself isn't too spicy, but the peppers are. Soup bao was super yummy too. The soup literally bursts into your mouth, so be careful~ I burnt the tip of my tongue because I couldn't wait. They handmade the soup bao so the texture is thicker than normal xiao long bao, but it was good for holding a big meatball inside. Craving soup dumplings on a whim led me to this hidden gem in Pearland for a last-minute birthday dinner, and WOW, they did not disappoint! The dumplings were juicy flavor bombs, use all the sauces + chilli oil to dress them and you won't regret it. And that cucumber salad? The vinaigrette was toooo good and even doubled as a secret dumpling sauce. The seaweed egg drop soup was next-level--I'm a lifelong egg drop fan, but this one blew me away. My family and friends love it here. However our most recent experience wasn't necessarily the best. We were so ecstatic for the Peking Duck Combo, but it just wasn't great.
