I went through a phase of ordering the Blaze ramen at least weekly and sometimes twice a week. Even now, I order it around once or twice a month when I crave ramen. The restaurant itself is always crazy fast with delivery, and they package everything perfectly every time. Their Blaze ramen is my favorite ramen in Charlotte. The broth is creamy without being heavy. The noodles, pork, bean sprouts, spinach, green onion, seaweed, and seasoned egg are such a perfect combination. I order mine medium spicy - and if you're sensitive to spice it might be too much. It's definitely hot, but not enough to stop you from finishing the bowl. I'm no ramen connoisseur, but I can confidently say this ramen is worth trying! read more

This place is right off Park Road, a short walk from most apartment complexes off of southline. There is bar seating and tables inside and outside. The service is friendly and they are very attentive if you're eating in (likewise for takeout but it's a quicker interaction). I got the blaze, their most popular ramen dish, with pork and medium-spicy. They do not play around with spice! Come prepared for authentic spice levels - not the "white people spicy" that seems to run rampant with Asian food in the area. Silverlake Ramen Ambience - 5.0 This is a small, easy to miss spot with very limited seating. If you are looking for comfort, this may not be the spot for you. It's a bit noisy due to the size. The counter seating literally faces a blank black wall. You can hear the kitchen on the other side but you can't see anything. Service - 7.0 Service is super fast. So fast that you often do t have time to ask for things like more water before they are gone again. That being said they were polite and helpful when you could catch them. Food - 6.5 Chicken Karaage - this was nice and crispy, though under seasoned. I didn't love the sauce it came with, compared to other places I've had this dish. Blaze Ramen with chicken - The creamy pork broth was tasty, but lacked a depth of flavor. The spice was simply hot, again not feeling like it was an integrated part of the dish. Noodles were a nice texture. This fell between a grocery store ramen and the other restaurant ramens for me. Creamy brocollini - The brocollini was well cooked, but the sesame sauce was extremely heavy on fish sauce. Pork belly Bao - also fair. The bao was pre-made and pasty. The pork belly could have used more sauce. Overall - 6.5 I was rather underwhelmed. Okay, I like being proven wrong or at least seeing a place correct their issues. With Futo Buta closed and my need strong for some spicy ramen to combat the flu, I ordered some fire shoyu and tucked in. Now, I hadn't eaten much so maybe my hunger was a factor too but the ramen was so much better this time. The chicken was tender but not fall-apart tender (a definite negative in soup eaten with chopsticks) and the stock was good enough to make me keep the leftovers. I really appreciated the touch of fresh cilantro for an additional undertone of what was already a delicious meal. Oh, and the seasoned egg? Chef's kiss. For starters I also had the fried pork gyoza, and that was spot on. The sauce also had quite a kick. I marked down a star because the veggies are still very sparse (other than the green onions) and honestly, if any seaweed was in there I didn't notice it. Greeted and seated immediately, my waiter brought my menu and a glass of water. I chose the combo and it did not take very long at all. Both my creamy broccolini appetizer and the classic tonkotsu ramen arrived at the same time. Broccolini was delicious and while a little challenging with chopsticks, I managed to demolish it. Yummy! The ramen was next. Rich broth with a lovely slice of grilled pork on top (they also do impossible meats here!) with the soft boiled egg and plenty of perfectly al dente noodles. I looove love love the blaze ramen with pork, medium spicy, if you can't handle heat definitely get the mild. I've been hyperfixating on it while sick, I've had it three times this week. I'm honestly really sad today though because I paid for extra egg and got less pork? Nice little place on the corner of a strip mall area. I think I drove by it twice trying to find it. Parking is a little crazy but you can park on the street behind the strip. The atmosphere was really chill. It looks like there's still opening because the bar wasn't fully set up but it appeared to be on its way though. Went to silver lake tonight for the first time. The food was all right, but the thing that really sold me was the buy one get one free on Thursday nights. They have a ton of other great deals, but if you're looking for a cheap date night on a lonely Thursday this is your place. Came in here for one last meal before heading back up north. This place is dog friendly and the service is outstanding! It was really nice for our server Travis to let us know what was popular here and answered a lot of our questions in his introduction to this beautiful place. He gave us great suggestions when it came to making our decisions. All the patio seating outside is covered with umbrellas to keep guests in the shade while enjoying the delicious food. We ordered the fried gyoza and the pork bun as an appetizer and all of us ordered the blaze ramen. It comes in 3 levels of spice depending on what you're able to tolerate. I ordered a level 1 spice and ordered the chili paste on the side because I just wanted to gradually increase my spice level to what I can handle. The blaze ramen is so rich in flavor! The service was very quick and it wasn't very crowded on a Monday. My husband and I split the Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Pork Bun, Spicy Chicken Bun, and The Blaze (Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen).
